My friends and I met up at this cabin and were very pleasantly surprised by the accommodations! We stayed in Cabin three where there was PLENTY of space, a nice kitchen with an oven and coffee maker, a gas grill we used, and a fireplace. We were very impressed and enjoyed our time!

Our family of eight siblings enjoyed staying in the gorgeous Grumpster’s House. To begin with, it was spotless. The home is very unique and beautifully decorated. We loved the many nice bedrooms with comfortable beds, the lovely living room, the wonderful kitchen and the large dining room table where we sat around to eat and play games. We also enjoyed the spacious deck with lights. We were amazed at the wildlife wandering around the yard: the mama deer and her fawn, the family of turkeys with babies; and the ground hog playing peek-a-boo with us was hilarious. It was a wonderful stay and we will be back. The owners are very nice and accommodating. We highly recommend Grumpster’s House!

A wonderful cabin. I stayed in cabin 1 with two friends. Cheri is very quick to respond to any questions and sent me detailed suggestions for our hiking trip. The cabin is super clean and very comfortable. The front porch is a perfect place to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. We enjoyed the fire pit as well. Beautiful hiking nearby. We had never been to this area before. We hiked at Effigy Mounds, Pike's Peak and Wyalusing State Park across the river. A great girlfriend getaway for spring break.

A few girlfriends and I went for a couple day getaway, it was perfect! We stayed in cabin 2, it was so cozy and welcoming. The cabin had all the amenities we needed. Plenty of hiking close by and great small shops just down the road. Owners were wonderful in giving us recommendations on some great places to eat and shop. It was an incredibly relaxing and peaceful getaway! Oh, and had some little forest visitors come by as we sat in the covered porch.

Really awesome place!! Super clean and modern cabins with dish, owners are very nice and the property is super cool, not far from the Mississippi and the town of Mcgregor! Highly recommend! ~Dish guy#2

Wow! If you're looking to experience excellent customer service, a HUGE cabin, all wrapped up in a setting of trees and hills along the Mississippi River, this is definitely your place! We had an awesome 2-night stay and loved every minute of it! Cheri was super helpful with ideas of things to do, they had the fireplace on for our arrival, the kitchen was well stocked, and everything was very clean. We were looking to enjoy some rest and relaxation and this was the perfect place for it!

Love, love, loved staying at the house with extended family! The children had fun running around the yard. The adults and youngers had several places in the house to hang out or to play cards on the very long dining table. The beds were comfortable and plenty of linens. The deck was perfect for eating in the evenings and the local wildlife would walk by as to say howdy. We are already looking forward to coming back.

Such a wonderful place. We stayed with family in the Grumpster House. Plenty of room for the 10 of us that were there. The kitchen worked perfect for us and the deck/firepit area were great places to hang out. We wished there was more comfortable seating/place to put your feet up in the family room. Especially if it's raining. This was a great location from McGregor/Marquette and Prairie Du Chen for activities and shopping.

We had a wonderful and good time. The cabin, furnishings, and surroundings were beautiful. The only thing that we thought could be improved would be a good dusting and more thorough cleaning. Also, the floor on the main level was very creaky and squeaky when walking around. Love the area!

What a great place to stay & relax w/ friends, and family! We wanted for nothing & deer, wild turkeys, chipmunks, squirrels & a plethora of bird varieties were right outside our windows to enjoy. Thank you for a lovely visit!

This was the most peaceful family getaway we have ever taken! We loved watching the birds, the chipmunks, and wild turkeys on the beautiful porch! My kids couldn't get enough of the "dollar hunt!" Our cabin was clean, tranquil and completely rejuvenating! Thanks for all the care you put into the property. We are already dreaming of returning!
