😠 Go there at your own peril. Go there if you have a death wish. Staff rude and uncaring, service is substandard, the atmosphere is just plain depressing. Wait time is several hours even if you are dying.... This death trap of a hospital should be sued! Please read the reviews, they are real, don't... I’m writing this as I am waiting in the waiting room going on 7 hours. In this seven hours I’ve witnessed people begging the staff to do anything to help them. There’s a man in a wheelchair trying to get help because he says he can’t breathe and feels like his throat is closing. There was an elderly woman in a hospital chair begging the nurses and doctors to take wrappings off her legs because they were supposed to come off hours ago and she has a medical condition that could make her lose her legs if they’re on too long. There was a gentleman with his sister who had a catheter in and he was there since 6pm waiting still at 3am in tears from the pain of the infection the catheter caused, it was supposed to be taken out 5 days ago and he had blood oozing through the tube. The nurses where so unprofessional and rude to everyone when they would ask for even an ice pack or a cup of water. I’m here for swelling that in my left side jaw area that’s growing more painful and feeling more swollen as the time passes and in my 7 hours here so far all they’ve done is take my blood pressure and weight. Please don’t come here

If you have a choice to go to another hospital for a emergency do so - if it means driving out of state DO SO. I went here for chest pain because the doctors told me to do so - it took nearly a hour to be triaged and then was sent back to the waiting room - shortly after I got blood work, a quick xray & ecg. - back to waiting room, I got there at 12:45pm I had my results sent to my phone at 2:30 - I waited until 9pm in the waiting room and still never seen a doctor about my chest pain even though I had my results at 2:30. Had to call someone from the back to come remove my iv so I could leave and I left without any answers and still had chest pain. This ER is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. Do Not Go HERE.

Wait time is several hours even if you are dying.... This death trap of a hospital should be sued! Please read the reviews, they are real, don't go to this hospital if you value your life. The staff are a bunch of depressing, angry clowns who hate their job and don't know what they are doing! The average wait time here is 5 hours to get any kind of assistance. I hope it shuts down or at the very least, they change management.... some third world hospitals are way better than this place.

Went to three different urgent cares who simply told me what I had going on was viral and to gargle salt water. Well eventually it got so bad and I wasn’t able to eat and barely drinking fluids for a couple days then finally decided to go in to the emergency room. I was treated great from check in till I left the next day. I was finally out of pain and actually able to eat something for the first time in a few days. I was getting worried after three different urgent cares were no help and my condition was getting worse each day. People may bash this place, but the service I had was top notch and everyone on the floor really seemed to care.

If we never visit this place again..it will be too soon. Worst experience ever with a relative..the er is terrible...the nurses were neglectful...eye contact absolutely forbidden...we were put in a room in the er with the curtains closed & lights out, I would turn the lights back on and open the curtain, almost as a reminder ..HEY!!! we are waiting, they would turn OFF THE LIGHT AND PULL THE CURTAIN CLOSED....the ole response "The Dr will be in shortly".(Dr.Kondaveeti)....24hrs later.......The Dr. NEVER CAME..he had NO intention of seeing us due to her age ...90.....left to die I assume, the aged are not the priority.....well guess what??? She went on to recover...(covid.).and is 92 still ticking .

I came in by ambulance with severe chest pains and was placed on a bed in the hallway. It took 20min before anyone checked me. Once they finally decided to check my heart they lifted my shirt up in front of everyone to place the stickers on me, no privacy whatsoever. I laid there in pain for 2 hours without a single nurse checking on me. To add insult to injury I was placed right by the room my son died in. I still question the care he recieved after being hit by a truck. They couldn’t even find him in the system for 30min when I was trying to find out which hospital he’d been taken to but that’s a whole other horror story about this place. Anyway, my husband called in to request that they move me but they didn’t until 45 minutes later when he got there and had to yell at the staff. After relocating me to yet another hallway they took more blood and had me waiting another 2 hours. I still hadn’t seen a doctor or recieved any pain medication at this point. Frustrated and fed up I decided to just leave. That’s when a doctor FINALLY came and spoke with me saying my pain was from low potassium. My husband took me to another hospital and I was immediately helped in a much more caring matter and also found out I was misdiagnosed! I have nothing but negative experiences at McKeesport hospital with myself and my children. I would never go there by choice.

I truly don't understand the one star reviews! I have multiple chronic illnesses and have "had" to go to upmc mckeesport on numerous occasions now...because it's simply the closest UPMC hospital and I won't make it down to Presbyterian (my normal hospital) where ALL my doctors are fast enough. I have ALWAYS been treated with dignity and respect!! They have saved my life now on 4 different occasions and they are extremely clean and professional. I had a severe bowel blockage during the height of covid as well as congestive heart issues- I was sincerely comfortable the entire time and never felt afraid that I would get the virus. I ❤ you UPMC MCKEESPORT

Do you and your family a favor and don’t come here I could throw up on how terrible unprofessional inconsiderate and down right depressing this hospital is and the throw up coming out would be better than stomaching my experience here!! If there were zero stars they would be in first place UMPC should be embarrassed! What a joke 4 hrs in the EMPTY waiting room & still not seen! I bet if someone died in the waiting room they wouldn’t know it till the body started to smell! Sorry excuse for a hospital & literally the whole Pittsburgh area knows it! The staff are no help on time and the link they send it doesn’t show you how long it will be just a outline of a slow process they go by!

I was seen relatively fast for an ER...one hour...was told to wait in the waiting room for my prescription paperwork...that was three hours ago...im still here waiting. One of two things is happening...one they charging my insurance by the hour im here...or two...since im not here for a sickness...they tryna get me sick...good for there business i guess...so be smart...save yourself...go somewhere else...

NEVER again. Visited yesterday afternoon. I was in due to experiencing excessive amounts of blood in my stool on and off since July (yes, nearly 6 months). I get there and wait and wait and wait. I get put into a room with a disgusting linen on the bed, and had to have it changed. Then they wanted a urine sample without even telling me what they were doing.... They came back probably 45 minutes later to tell me I wasn't pregnant and I didn't have a uti so now I can be discharged. They DID NOTHING for the issue I came in for. Incompetent workers. I asked what exactly they tested my urine for as I'm having issues with my stool. She replies with how they were looking to make sure I didn't have a kidney infection or anything wrong with my urine tract... They prescribed me Zofran for my nausea.. So now here I lay in bed sick to my stomach not knowing why I'm bleeding internally. Good job upmc. I knew there was a reason I stay away from you.

TRASH- DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL- INEPT, SADISTIC, UTTERLY INCOMPETENT STAFF, STOLE MY PRESCRIPTIONS THAT I BROUGHT WITH ME AND NEVER RETURNED MULTIPLE LIFE-SUSTAINING MEDICATIONS UPON MY DISCHARGE, THEN WHEN I CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT SAID MEDICATIONS, I RECEIVED A THREATENING PHONECALL BACK FROM THEIR SECURITY DEPARTMENT ON CHRISTMAS EVE (TODAY). I DON'T EVEN HAVE TIME OR ENERGY TO RECOUNT ALL THE INDIGNITIES, MALPRACTICE, ABUSE, AND SUFFERING I WAS FORCED TO ENDURE DURING MY TIME STAYING IN THIS "HOSPITAL", BUT, suffice it to say, if you have any self-respect or value your health and wellness, AT ALL, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU AVOID THIS TOXIC "HOSPITAL", UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING ABUSED AND TORTURED BY THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE CHARGED WITH YOUR CARE...

Please do yourself a favor and if you’re sick or have issues you’re better off taking care of it yourself or driving somewhere else. I have a hard time believing anyone who works here has past a high school education. Sloppy, rude, dirty, slow and plenty more.

What I like about this Doctor, Doctor Kuhn is that he was not afraid to take a risk; and take me off all the meds that were messing me up and he put me on a medication that actually works very well for me. Between him, and another Doctor that gave me continuing treatment which made me another person. it did take me a while to heal. What is profound, is that I ended up recovering and I am doing so well, that I am ready to go back to work once I receive a job.

Came here for a mammogram and ultrasound... the staff in the imaging center were very friendly, answered all my questions, had great bedside manner, and gave me my results immediately. The hospital is extremely hard to navigate though, so make sure you leave yourself a lot of extra time to get where you're going. I wandered into quite a few wrong areas, and the staff I ran into were all very nice and helpful!

They are awful I called in August to schedule my son’s MRI and they asked my if his shunt was programmable and I said yes they scheduled it for October and called me less than a week away and said they don’t do programmable shunts and I need to reschedule remind you appointments are at least two to three months out everywhere we could go I just feel it should of never been scheduled there in the first place.

This place only has one good part the outpatient services and UPMC should just turn this hospital into med express and medical center get rid of the ER and whatever observation rooms you have turn them all into Dr offices

Worst hospital ever they admit you said you will go home in 2 or 3 days.made me stay 16 days all they did was lie to me on a daily basis the aide was very rude and I wouldn't let nurse Nate take care of anyone I know. If I ever have to go to the hospital againit will not be any UPMC hospitals

If you are looking for detox or rehab WARNING!!WARNING!! Do not come. Nurses are lazy and your withdrawal isn't gonna be anywhere as bad as your hunger pains every night. Go to Forbes. AHN.This place a an obomination. A disgrace. If you get covid while staying at the hospital they will immediately discharge you even if you came in without covid.

I came in with a friend who needed oxygen while having tests. They had the tank but no tubing. The desk staff was a bit bewildered. The pulmonary guy was at least friendly .

My son was taken here via ambulance and was then transferred without my knowledge. When I called to inquire about his personal belongings I was told that my sin told them to throw it away( clothes, shoes, jacket and phone charger) just know that this is UNACCEPTABLE I mean who would say throw away their clothes in weather like this?! I hope whomever has his stuff really needed it because their actions are ridiculous!!! How can you want patients to feel safe and cared for if you discard their personal belongings and NO my son DIDN'T tell them that!!! So glad he's at a hospital that is safe and keeps his family aware of his situation. Never again.

We had gotten a call from the seniors facility that my 105 year old Mother in law had been taken to the hospital e.r. She had a hair line fracture to her knee. So my wife and I were just there to comfort her Mother. Things couldn't worked out any better. She was transported back to the home by ambulance and we went back to our home in Monroeville.

I called a family member to bring me another Cane security guard still proceeded to tell me I could not have it it was not until another guard stepped in that I got to keep my cane I asked for information to file a report and was refused the information please be safe please be careful.
