I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Le Pré Salé in Belgium, and I must say, it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The food itself was a complete disappointment. The dishes were poorly executed and lacked any sort of flavor or creativity. The ingredients seemed cheap and poorly sourced, resulting in bland and unappetizing meals. It was clear that no effort or care had been put into the preparation of the food.

TLDR: Very bad experience. Wait staff was rude, brash and got physical when called out on behavior, which according to other Google reviews is not a first time occurrence. Wait staff was brash from start. At end of meal the waitress asked us to use a calculator to add up our payments for her which we did. She proceeded to get frustrated, walk off and return with her own calculator. When my friend pointed out to her that it was simple (we had all ordered the same 24 euro mussels x 5) the waitress proceeded to put her hand centimeters from my the friend's face and shush her repeatedly . When we told her she was being rude, she said in heated tone that she was doing as a favor splitting our bill in the first place. We asked just to continue with the rest of our transactions (3/5 were done) but she yelled that "actually no!" she doesn't accept it we have to pay for the whole meal at once, and started trying to cancel our previous transactions. At that point I went to the owner and asked him to cash us out because the person who was supposed to do it was being aggressive. He got involved, claimed we needed to let it go because "they were stressed" and that they don't split bills. When I pointed out the problem is not whether they're used to splitting bills or stress but the fact that the wait person treated us aggressively and rudely, the waitress went on to grab me by the arm and try to shove me out of the restaurant. I took her hand off me told her not to touch me. She began to threaten to call the police at which point I used inappropriate language with her, daring her to go ahead, as she was clearly at fault. However, I then disengaged and stepped outside while my friends dealt with the situation. We were able to pay and go. The owner bid us goodbye by telling us to let it go "because it was Sunday". Draw your own conclusions. PS. If you made it to the end of this then thank you and also now you know to avoid this place like the bubonic plague.

Very tender delicious small mussels. About €25 per pot and comes with fries. 2 person can perhaps share a pot if you are not too hungry or small-eater. Go before 7 pm for dinner if you want to get a seat without reservation. It was full house by 8pm. Tables are placed tightly next to one another to take in as many diners as possible as it's a small place. The waiters are courteous and we didn't need to wait long for the food to be served.

Good experience and dinner. Fair prices for the main courses. The service is also good, but a little bit too slow.

I don't usually write bad reviews, but the staff here was super rude and racist. Not sure why we were treated that way, probably because we looked foreign. When we first asked if we could be seated they took one look and ignored us. Despite the fact that there were plenty of empty tables at 2pm, they just said no. I would definitely not recommend this place.

(Translated by Google) The restaurant only makes a good impression. Fried mussels are expensive, not exceptional (mussels marinated in a broth of hot water-celery). The service is detestable: you have to order quickly, the questions on the card and the menu are not appreciated (otherwise the waitress sighs the poor she does not have that to do, waitress is surely not her vocation). At the end of the meal do not expect to split the bill with your friends because the waitress will not leave you this luxury. I suspect the 5 star reviews to be "arrangements" (this is my personal opinion maybe I am wrong). Do not have the misfortune of not being a pure Brussels native for lunch here. Willing to discuss with the staff of the establishment if there is any doubt about this testimony. cordially (Original) Le restaurant fait bonne impression en apparence uniquement. Cordialement

Atmosphere is ok, but not cosy or calm. The team was very friendly but not very flexible when it came to splitting the bill for a big table - it is not possible to pay seperately. Food was ok ok, but really nothing special and mostly much too much. still it seems to be a classic.

Great place for mussels in Brussels. Old school feel with perfect casual service! Despite how busy it can be it has the feel of a neighborhood spot. The open kitchen is incredible, like it’s stuck in time in the best of possible ways! Highly recommended

(Translated by Google) Good food (simple but effective dishes) friendly and friendly atmosphere, charming waitresses, all in a hubbub a little too strong for my taste ... but maybe this is the age that makes me like to eat less in Too noisy atmospheres :-) In short it is a small brasserie typical of Brussels with all its charm and some faults. I recommend despite everything.

No covid measures in place. We were never asked to wear or mask or show our vaccination passports. Place is dirty and a bit shabby. Food is acceptable, but the croquettes although tasty were totally over priced. Some of the stuff is friendly but they almost push you into leaving a tip. A bit disorganized too. I would not recommend it. There are so many over nicer places

Went there with a local friend for some Mussels! Had the Creme and Garlic one and a Kir. I loved the mussels but the aide fries were average. They were very crowded and the kitchen is small so you might have to wait for your food to arrive a bit longer but there is a high possibility that it will make you happy. 😊

The service was great and attentive. My partner almost forgot her umbrella but luckily the owner reminded her, so thumbs up. The mussels were delicious but could have been better. In my opinion, eels in the green sauce were alright, though that could just be me not being used to it. Like a lot of restaurants in Brussels, they do not offer tap water, which is the norm here. Drinks were on the expensive side. Prices, in general, were on the higher side for the quality and quantity, though keep in mind that they are located in the city center. Overall, a pleasant experience for us.

Went here on the recommendation of a friend. It’s not cheap (I’m not sure anywhere in Brussels for mussels is) but it’s worth every penny. The mussels were incredible and plentiful, and the service was friendly and attentive. Fabulous little place on an interesting street.

Food is not OK. Presentation neither. Menu is a dirty journal sheet of paper. Service was more or less but without covid safe mask. Toilets, kitchen and restaurant are dirty. Cook in dirty clothes and without mask went out to smoke in service time through the restaurant with guests and returned to pots and pans without washing hands.

Be aware to make sure what ever you order doesn’t cost anything extra. I was surprised when the waitress told me a drink was included in my meal, which in the end she charged me the drink and gave me the look as if she’s offended why I would have ever came to the idea of a free drink.

It was my first first time eating here, and I really like it! The setting is lovely, the terrace is lovely, the service is excellent, the cuisine is excellent, and the quality is excellent! The bathroom is clean. The only thing I didn't like is just that the bathroom is for 1 person at a time. But is spacious & clean. It is an the high end price. A little less, the sauce is extra and bottled water is more expensive than the aperitif. Pity ... (Original) Ce restaurant nous a été recommandé pour le bon rapport qualité prix. (Translated by Google) I put a star because otherwise I cannot leave a comment, but this boui-boui is far from deserving. This establishment calls itself "restaurant", but we are far from it. Beyond the grime, the obsolescence, it is what is served on the plate that appeals to me and the prices charged. When you order a Flemish carbonade for 18 euros, you are entitled to expect a typical dish that has taste. Instead you are served a vulgar, infamous stew. I also specify the nonchalance of the waitress, bordering on contempt. And the coup de grace is in the price of espresso coffee at 3.50 euros !!!! It is unacceptable and shameful. I absolutely do not recommend this place, unless you have no taste and want to get ripped off.
