Hope this review helps people who want to visit this famous temple, which is one of the jyotirling. Firstly it is not necessary to bath in the rameshwaram beach as said by many it’s totally your choice. There are four sides to enter the temple we went from north tower. Which is near to 22 kund where also its not necessary to bath. We didn’t knew that the kund water is very accessible there are dedicated pandit who will give you the holy water so we did a guide but it was cheap so we didn’t mind. The guide said the changing rooms are bad so you can walk in your wet clothes and it was already half n hour and our clothes dried ;) enter the beautiful corridor and you can get tickets for darshan we wanted to offer gangajal so took an extra ticket which was 50rs. Showed it to the pandit during the darshan and he offered our gangajal. People were wearing jeans so no particular dress code but its better to wear cotton cloths due to the climate of Rameshwaram region. If you enter the main gate you ll be checked but we entered from other gate so we had our phones but please don’t capture as its strict you ll be fined.

Ramanathaswamy Temple (Rāmanātasvāmi Kōyil) is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva located on Rameswaram island in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is also one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, where three of the most revered Nayanars (Saivite saints), Appar, Sundarar and Tirugnana Sambandar, have glorified the temple with their songs. The temple was expanded during the 12th century by the Pandya Dynasty, and its principal shrine’s sanctum was renovated by Jeyaveera Cinkaiariyan and his successor Gunaveera Cinkaiariyan, monarchs of the Jaffna kingdom. The temple has the longest corridor among all Hindu temples in India. It was built by King Muthuramalinga Sethupathiy. [1] [2] The temple, located in Rameswaram, is considered a holy pilgrimage site for Shaivites, Vaishnavites and Smarthas. Mythological accounts depict the presiding deity, the Lingam of Ramanathaswamy (Shiva), as having been established and worshiped by Rama, before he crossed his bridge to the present-day island of Sri Lanka.

Such a Devine place ofcourse. Great experience to walk through the great corridor, i guess and i heard this is the longest corridor among all the temples in India. But there many volunteers are there, they're making somehow kinda annoying the whole experience here. We can simply go through that 22 well snana process without any help coz there are fixed volunteers for each well, but these random volunteers will catch up as from the entrance and they'll ask you to pay some amount to enter, we'll thought like this is the process but actually not. It is exclusively for you only, if you want a personal volunteer apart from general volunteers, you can pay and go with them, otherwise don't do it, just pay for the snana fee 25/- and go in. Before entering inside, you've to go through the sea bath with what you wear and directly enter inside for 22 well snana process, after that you've to change your clothes and then only you can enter for dharshan. Better you keep another pair of clothes and keep it any Locker facilities nearby.

Rameshwaram Temple is one of the 12 jyotirlinga. You may reach Rameshwaram via train as well as via bus, which can easily available from madurai and other main south Indian cities. Rameshwaram Temple is around 2 km away from the bus stand and the railway station. There is a direct connectivity of autos to the temple. It is recommended to you, to use eastern gate to enter into the temple as it is the shortest route to the Darshan. Hope you will find this fruitful.

Take bath in ocean next to north gate, after bathing enter from north gate(this is mandatory to enter from north gate, when u take bath in ocean ), after that pay 25 rs and take bath from 22 wells, and then go and see Shankar bhagwan ( free gate, 100 rs gate, 200 rs gate), difference in 100 and 200 is the closeness of view ( 1 m difference ) , so recommendation is 100 rs. You can enter from any gate if u r not taking bath there. Dress code : no particular dress code, just wear full.

Breathtaking structures and amazing view for the eyes as we could see the gods and appear they have come down to earth. The structures seem like as if they were made just now in this modern world. The question of how did they make this amazing structure keeps coming to mind as you move across the queue which is really huge. So, I suggest to go there very early. There are 3 queues, one is free which takes a very long time then there is 100/- and 200/- with the higher money for the fastest queue. The queue is slow even if you pay 200/-as there will be more people and hence the suggestion to come early. There is the bathing place in the west tower and the temple is in the east. So if you wish to take a bath or just a sprinkle of water which is from 21 wells, you can go through the west Tower.

A very old ancient temple! The main deity is Lord Shiva. If you are planning to visit this temple and to do rituals here the plan/suggestions. First reach Rameswaram on or before early morning 4am. Refresh or go and have a Spadika linga abisegam which usually starts from 4:30m -5am with 50₹ special ticket. Only Spadika lingam dharshan or abisegam can be performed not the main deity. Usually this abisegam performed before sun rises. Next directly go to Surya Theetham(Sea) where all the thitti and other rituals are carried out. If it's Ammavasa(no moon day) you'll be lot of Iyers performing rituals to our ancestors. Select one and perform. Rates differs from person to person. Bargain is happening to the best. Normal thitti 500₹ , if its with samll homam (1000₹) and the list goes on.. Bath in sea around 6am and do the rituals and then again start walking towards temple. Now 3rd plan / suggestion is to take a holy bath on 21 wells (Thirtham) which is sacred to bath here.. 25₹ is the charge temple has allotted per person. On normal days it'll be empty , but on special occasions it'll be very huge crowd. This might take 1-3hours depends upon crowd and festival times. Then finally change the clothes post taking a bath on 21 wells. Usually wet clothes will not allowed inside for dharshan. So either you go out change clothes and come. Or else carry one set of dress which you can change inside the temple itself. (Only thing is you need to protect clothes and phones without getting drenched in water). Finally comes th dharshan of our Lord Shiva. Normal free entry, special 100₹ and 200₹ are available. Of course it depends upon the money, you'll see the lord one step forward. And see the goddess Parvatha ammal. And that completes the entire schedule or how to findih the rituals one by one. Temple timing will be 4:30am-12:30pm and 3pm opens again. Lot of small rooms to bath, lockers and resting places available around the temple. Before going, read the history of the Temple where Lord Ram and Sita performed a pooja by sculpting a sand Shiva on dhanssukodi and the story goes on... Om Namah Shivaya 🔥🕉️ Let all get blessings from Lord Shiva 🙏

This is one of the sacred temples for Hindus and is among Jyotirling. The structure itself is jaw-dropping. One has to see to believe what our ancestors achieved centuries ago without much technology and science. Apart from structure, you feel sea of positive vibes as soon as you enter. There are 1000s of devotees anytime offering prayers with selfless believe. This is true beauty of our culture. People from all section of society just having a belief in lord Shiva and they know they are being taken care by higher power. Unreal and majestic is this temple. I wish to come again someday in my life .

If u r visiting Rameswar Temple b4 that go to the sea shore - agnitheertha and take bath. Then inside the Rameswar temple you can take holy bath..using the water from 22 Holy well. Compared to sea water it is less salty and pure. Only after taking holy bath( even it is not necessary..we must know the rituals) I will recommend you for Darshan.... The Rameshwaram Temple, also known as the Ramanathaswamy Temple, is one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimage sites in India. It is located on Rameshwaram Island in the state of Tamil Nadu and holds great religious and historical importance. 1. Architecture and Design: The architecture of the Rameshwaram Temple is a magnificent blend of Dravidian and architectural styles. The temple complex is spread over a vast area and consists of various intricately carved towers, mandapams (halls), and corridors. The main sanctum sanctorum houses the presiding deity, Lord Shiva, in the form of a lingam. The grandeur and attention to detail in the temple's design are truly awe-inspiring. 2. Spiritual Significance: The temple holds immense religious significance for Hindus, as it is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (sacred abodes of Lord Shiva). It is believed that a pilgrimage to Rameshwaram and offering prayers at the temple can wash away sins and grant salvation. The temple also finds mention in the ancient Hindu epic, Ramayana, as the place where Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva to seek forgiveness after defeating the demon king Ravana. 3. Rituals and Festivals: The Rameshwaram Temple is known for its elaborate rituals and festivals. The daily rituals include various puja ceremonies, abhishekams (ritualistic bathing of the deity), and aarti (devotional offering of light). The temple also witnesses several annual festivals, such as Maha Shivaratri, Navaratri, and Arudra Darshan, which attract a large number of devotees from all over the country. 4. Sacred Bathing Ghats: One of the unique features of the temple is the presence of 22 sacred bathing ghats (steps) surrounding the island. Pilgrims believe that taking a holy dip in the waters of these ghats can cleanse them of their sins. The most renowned among them is Agni Theertham, located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, where devotees typically begin their pilgrimage. 5. Crowd Management and Facilities: Given the temple's popularity, it can experience heavy footfall, especially during peak pilgrimage seasons. However, efforts are made by the temple authorities to manage the crowd efficiently and maintain a sense of order. Facilities such as queue systems, separate entry points for men and women, and well-maintained premises help ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience. 6. Overall Experience: Visiting the Rameshwaram Temple can be a deeply spiritual and enriching experience. The temple's architectural beauty, religious significance, and historical connections make it a must-visit destination for devotees and tourists alike. The serene atmosphere, coupled with the rituals and festivals, creates a sense of devotion and tranquility. Exploring the temple complex, witnessing the rituals, and taking a dip in the holy waters can leave a lasting impression on visitors.

Big temple of ram Rameshwaram is a very beautiful place . It is a Holy land for Hindus, mainly known for the mythological story called Ramayana. The main tourist attractions in and around rameshwaram are Pamban Bridge, Dhanushkodi, The Ramanatha Swamy temple, etc. Firstly the place has some really good restaurants and accommodation for boarding. People in the locality were helpful and cooperative. The food was of a good quality. Transportation facility is also good there. easy access to the auto-rickshaw valas and also have Government and private buses for sightseeing . To go to rameshwaram we have to cross Pamban in bridge. The blue oceans and the ships over the shore really added beauty to the place. The ramanathaswamy temple is rich of the archeological sculptures, wall paintings, dooms etc which gave a spiritual aura all over the place . I had an unforgettable and beautiful experience and one must definitely visit and explore the beauty . Rameshwaram is a beautiful place located in Panbam island in Tamil nadu. If you want to feel the sea breeze, their is nothing better place than Ramashwaram. I personally recommend this place if you want to free yourself from the daily routine. Their are so many temple’s in Ramaeshwaram. Each temple has its own story. Here we can see that sea is much brighter and clear compare to other places. We can play in the sea with joy and fun.

Nice place, but it's better to take vip tickets for darshan if you have old people with you, I wouldn't recommend cab facilities because cab drivers were rude with bad services, its better to take local taxi
