Don't go by the other reviews. This old colonial restaurant has a charming ambience, delicious food, and excellent service by the staff! We had Akki roti, appam, vegetable korma (local style), koli chicken curry, and some cheese balls. The flavours and spices were so good. The food is outstanding. Perfect blend of spices! The staff is very friendly and they understood our palate and made appropriate suggestions for the meal. We loved how they preserved and restored the colonial interiors. Simple, authentic, and yet very surprising! We will definitely visit again and recommend to every visitor of Coorg.

Highly recommended. We tried Pork fry, Mutton pepper fry, Akki Roti, Koli Gassi, Murgh Hyderabadi Biriyani and Tossed salad. Lip smacking dishes, great service with a peaceful ambience. Truly a must visit while you are in Madikeri.

Visited the place for dinner during my visit to Coorg. Staff is courteous and prompt in the service. Food portion size is decent and taste was excellent. They have variety of local and standard cuisines. Restaurant architecture is of British era and is spacious. There is enough parking space for Vehicles. Had an opportunity to meet and interact with one of the owners Mr.Bhim Singhji who has enormous experience in Hospitality industry with passion to create delight for customers and that reflected in his involvement towards quality and service of restaurant.

This place was a total 'Disappointment'. Disappointing food quality and taste. Most of the options in the menu weren't available. On top of that, poor customer service for a place which is quite expensive as compared to other options around. 1. There was no soup available among soups mentioned in the menu options except for Pepper Rasam. 2. No Beverages were available among those mentioned in menu except for 7UP. 3. Ordered mutton biryani, which tasted poor. Also, card payment is not accepted.

We reached here searching for Beans and Brew cafe and realized that Beans and Brew is in Raintree restaurant itself. Restaurant seems to be in a old house renovated as restaurant which gives a very nice feeling. So we decided to have full dinner in Raintree apart from ordering from cafe. Food was quite good. Koli gassi was cooked in Mangalore style and good as expected. Veg shwezwan noodles were also good. Kerala Paratha and Tandoori Roti was as expected. Food is almost like home cooked and don't have artificial colors mixed in it. Staff is polite. Only problem was the service of Rain tree restaurant as we had to wait for more than 45 minutes here after placing order. On the other side order from cafe came in 5 minutes. Hope they will improve this. Overall very good experience 🙂

The PLACE AND FOOD IS TOO GOOD! Mr. Bhim Uncle - owner of the place is so nice and kind and helpful. He welcomed us so warmly Jaiprakash (manager), Suman and Pinky (team) they were so helpful and kind that we felt like home yet in a heritage place. Very personalised. Food was so good Try the recommendations they give We had Kadambuttu , appam, akki road, corn and prawn pepper fry , mangalorian chicken and bamboo shoot curry was out of the world A must visit when in coorg

If you are in Madikeri, you must NOT go to this place. They are very bad in customer services as well as in behavior. Such a hopeless place to be at. No customer gratitude. They speak White lies. If there is nothing in the world to eat, then better stay hungry. BAD BAD BAD BAD.

This restaurant is okay to visit. All food items are overpriced here. Also, the quality and taste of few dishes are not up to the mark considering the price. If you don't find any restaurant in Madikeri then you can keep this is an option.

It would be one of the restaurant that I would always visit on my every trip to Coorg. Awesome food, cozy ambience and super awesome service. Mr Mehboob Alam was our host (Nov 2021) and he is worth mentioning. He helped us with food suggestions and the restaurant was able to customize food based on our choice. Overall it was a superb experience. Coffee is great (Cafe Americano and B&B Iced coffee). Dal fry - Awesome ( It was made extra spicy on request) Chicken kundapura, Appam, tawa roti and Kerela parota were all great. Total bill was Rs 1220. Giving 4 star as they were out of tandoori items and a coconut based dessert that we wanted to try.

Unique dine in restaurant. Ambience is very nice. Food is decent. Availability of parking space is big plus. I tried very limited items, and my review on food is based on it. Overall good restaurant where you have option to buy spices and coffee and also try different verities of coffee and tea

Amazing restaurant with a homely feel. We were attended by Mr.Bheem himself (Gem of a person 🎉) . He was very polite, patient and friendly. We ordered North Indian dishes and they were amazing! Ended our lunch with Hot chocolate and Thick chocolate smoothie...and a jhappi from Bheem Sir😀. Will definitely visit again.

This is the best restaurant in Madikeri. This is located very close to the city centre and all the other popular tourist places around it. The restaurant is an old home converted to a restaurant with various rooms. The building is located a bit below the road level and you can bring your car down too. It has enough parking for 5 or so cars. Pinki served us well here and the food was delicious. We actually came all the days we stayed in Coorg. We would recommend the Chicken Ghee Roast, Chicken Lollipop, laal mass, panner butter masala and kulchas.

The chicken ghee roast was so delicious and the pepper pork was very soft and juicy...But the star of the meal was the payasam, it was so buttery, creamy and the sweetness was just right! The ambience is nice like an antique beach house in pondicherry. The service was really good, the staff were really welcoming!

We ordered Chicken pepper dry, Murg malai tikka n Lamb Biryani. All the three dishes were pathetic. Murg malai tikka was absolutely dry with no cream and no taste. Chicken pepper dry was not at all spicy. Lamb pieces in biryani were almost like rubber and not cooked well at all. Would not recommend this place.

Food was good. We tried appams & Korina gassi. Both were very good. The mutton biryani was decent, but nothing special. Though, must say that the mutton pieces were very properly done. Neither over nor under. The best part was the coffee. We had the south Indian filter coffee and a mocha. Both were very good.

Decent Food. Very good homely ambience by Coorg's standards. Quick service. Location right at Madikeri Town centre. Coming to Food: We ordered Mangalore style Prawn Curry. Rs 450. There were less prawns, and those were more like shrimps swimming in a soup of delicious aromatic light gravy. Taste was good but size of prawns, and the quantity was less for the price listed on the menu. We ordered Chettinad Chicken. Again the gravy base was tasty but the quality and tenderness of cooked meat was not upto the expectation. Rs 300 something. We ordered Parota and Appam and later steamed rice to have with Prawn curry. These were alright. The quantity of rice was big though. About 450 gms of cooked Basmati rice in about 100 rupees! Overall good place. Good for one time fulfilling meal while you are in Madikeri.

Place and Ambience is good. But the main reason to visit is food, which is just ok. It neither has South Indian flavour, nor North Indian not even Coorgi flavour. And yes, it's pricy for no reason.

It's a real cozy place to visit. Has a kinda retro look to the restaurant. Perfect for an evening date. I visited this place with my friend and was taken aback by the high prices for the food. They do deliver on the quality but didn't feel was worth the high price.

Great and compact place in town with decent food menu. Yes tasty food. Rates are average. Good beverages collection. One star is less for items availability. Only 60% of menu items are available. It's a pet friendly restuarant as there is decent place for sit out for pet parents. Car parking is available inside And don't forget to click the pix with restaurant facade in background

We were here for lunch at 2:30pm. The welcoming wasn’t great. We were standing outside as it was crowded, but they did not take the order even after insisting. Finally when we got the table we were made to wait for almost 30 minutes. They got the salad. When we asked for additional salad, we were told ‘it is over’. Food was served in broken bowls and plates. Attitude, a lot needs to be fixed. Hospitality, a lot needs to be addressed.

Awesome place to dine in, very pleasant ambience, delicious food and efficient staff. Must try chicken ghee roast. Food served here is delicious, the prices are on higher end but its value for money. The coffee shop here gives a mesmerizing aroma that fills the entire place. A variety of coffee beans are available here at affordable rates.

I searched for pure Veg restaurant and not sure why this restaurant appeared in the search. They serve both Veg and non-Veg food. I visited here in April first week and it has a calm and quiet atmosphere with a light breeze. We asked for a place with fan but there was no such area except the family room but the fans were not necessary even in the summer season. The service is too good. The hospitality is really good. The food is of right quantity and the quality is good too. Hardly 1 km from madikeri ksrtc stand. Will recommend it to all who visit coorg.

One must definitely visit Raintree Restaurant. Best place to have authentic Coorg style food. Bungalow is converted into Restaurant with ample car parking.Staff is very good and the owner Mr. Bheem Singh is very jolly and friendly. You will resemble him with the great actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan from the movie Cheeni Kum. We ordered Prawns Pepper Dry, Chicken Kundapur, Mutton Rogan Josh, Chicken Ghee Roast and Parathas. Food was yummy. Just one suggestion, need to increase the portion size.

I passed through Madikeri twice and both times stopped for a coffee and a meal at Raintree. I had 4 dishes in total and each one was very beautifully plated and what's more important: so tasty. I can especially recommend the Paneer 65 as a starter with the crispy outside and the melty center. The staff were very professional and helpful and owner Bhim is so friendly. A must eat, right next to the fort!

A hidden gem in Coorg !! We reached Coorg on 24th, a dussera day, and it was maddening. We were told no deliveries would be available post 8pm and randomly found this restaurant on google. We ordered online and then came JP(Jayaprakash) with the food warmly delivered at our hotel. The next day, since we were tired, we again ordered from the same restaurant but this time through Zomato. Again, JP being our savoir, ensured the food was delivered on time and needless to say the food was just fantastic🤩. The third day, being exquisite, we finally decided to go to the restaurant and vola...it was just mesmerising. Beautiful antique setting, clean and hygienic place and so beautifully designed ! Here we came across Mr. Bhim Singh , a ardent hotelier with half a century experience, who ensured we had a lasting evening like never before. I'm really not sure why the restaurant has low ratings, but for those who truly appreciate hospitality this is heaven !! Thank you to the entire team for ensuring a great evening for us 😊

I recently dined at Raintree Restaurants with my family for dinner. Mr. Bhim's warm hospitality made our experience memorable. He not only hosted us well but also shared insightful details about the property, its history, and heritage. The peas rice, dal fry, and paneer do pyaza were delicious with generous portion sizes. The paaysam was incredible and must-try dessert. Overall, Raintree Restaurants in Coorg is a must-visit for its delightful food, excellent service, and rich ambiance.

It's hidden away from the main road near upudi garden . We tried it as we were staying in the Airbnb villa next door. We wanted to eat light dinner so had some soup, roti which was good and some subji Food was average and service was okay. The ambience is quiet place. The building is of old style bungalow but a small one where the people can take a room and the other rooms can accommodate others ( like in different bedrooms originally). Is a bit expensive.
