Very lovely place for a picnic with family, friends, or just chill by yourself. There’s a beautiful fountain, a lot of couples take wedding photos here. There’s some restaurants around to get food, and the museum is also close by. This is my go-to place when I want to have a peaceful afternoon on a weekend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Carlton Gardens in Melbourne City is an absolute gem! My recent visit to this serene oasis left me utterly enchanted. It was a warm spring morning, and I couldn't have chosen a more perfect time to explore this breathtaking green haven. From the moment I stepped foot into the gardens, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility that instantly put me at ease. The lush, manicured lawns were a vibrant shade of green, and the colorful blooms were in full bloom, painting a vivid tapestry of nature's beauty. The scent of blossoms hung in the air, creating an intoxicating ambiance that felt like a symphony for the senses. What truly struck me was the wonderful vibe that enveloped the entire place. As I strolled along the meandering pathways, I couldn't help but notice the joy radiating from fellow visitors. Families were having picnics on the soft grass, friends were laughing and chatting on benches, and couples were taking romantic strolls hand in hand. It was as if the Carlton Gardens had the power to bring people together and create unforgettable moments. The historic Royal Exhibition Building, nestled within the gardens, was a sight to behold. Its elegant architecture stood in perfect harmony with the natural beauty surrounding it. I marveled at the intricate details and couldn't resist snapping a few photos to capture the memory. The staff at the Carlton Gardens were friendly and helpful, offering information about the various points of interest within the gardens and ensuring that my visit was as enjoyable as possible. Their dedication to maintaining this urban oasis was evident in every corner of the park. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or simply someone looking for a peaceful escape in the heart of Melbourne, the Carlton Gardens is a must-visit destination. My warm spring morning here was nothing short of magical, and I can't wait to return to this haven of beauty and serenity. Thank you, Carlton Gardens, for providing such an extraordinary experience. You've truly captured the essence of Melbourne's charm, and I wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a slice of paradise in the city.

I went for a walk in Carlton gardens yesterday where you can find the old exhibition building and the new Melbourne museum. The gardens are well kept and definitely worth a visit whilst in Melbourne.

It's a must see spot in Melbourne. Directly in front of the Exhibition Hall. This Garden is ideal for a stroll, a walk, to unwind, and have a good, quiet and nature filled time with your family or loved ones. You definitely wanna visit the fountains!!

On my morning stroll here, I saw cute little duckies relaxing by the pond, simply enjoying life. It was such a wholesome sight to behold! Someone also put a rice cooker bowl under the public taps so that dogs can drink water out of a bowl. What a kind gesture! Ahh, these are the simple joys of life... 💙

One of Melbourne's most popular parks. Just big enough to lose sight of the city if you find the right spot. It has a very calm and peaceful vibe. Lots of pretty areas, very clean and well maintained with a good running + bike path around the perimeter.

Beautiful well-maintained gardens with lush green grass and shady trees. Dedicated play area for children. Ample walkways for walkers, joggers, bikers, and doggos. Crisscross pathways throughout the garden accommodate plenty of people while giving enough privacy at the same time. Lots of seats for resting and hanging out with friends and family. Great for picnics and family outings!👌👌 At one end of the garden is the famous Melbourne museum and adjacent to it is the Royal Exhibition Building. Well-connected by trams in all directions which makes it easy for people of all ages to visit the garden. You will also find old churches, chapels, heritage buildings and town houses across the street from the garden. Must visit when in Melbourne. 👌🌟🙂

If you're local in Melbourne or tourist, this spot is a must visit. The Gardens, located just beside Exhibition Center and Melbourne Museum are remarkable. The Gardens are so well maintained. They are just perfect for walkers, joggers with amazing flowers and it's green lush grass. You'll definitely look for the fountains. This is even a perfect spot for photoshoot. Also well connected by trams Don't miss it!!

Decent garden about as nice as the others like Fitzroy, etc. Here there is a small pond and bridge, but otherwise it is very plain space for grass lounging, sports, picnic and more.

Very close to the CBD, Parking was tricky, but we managed to find a spot after a few laps. It is good for a walk on a sunny day during the weekend or after a long working day. Very much liked walking under the long and large 🌳 🌲 🌴. Would recommend a visit if you have not been there before. Also, I would recommend going there via public transport if you don't live nearby.

Convenient to reach via public transport because it’s close to CBD. There are Melbourne Museum, Royal Exhibition Building, fountains, a basket court and a playground. There are many things to do, jogging, sunbathing on the grass, reading, sports, watching the birds, flowers and the ponds and picnicking. There is shade under the trees. The water showered by the fountain cools down the heat. The architecture is wonderful for taking wedding photos.

I was jealous that there was such a nice park in the middle of the city. I was envious of the couple lying on the green grass, and I was also envious of the blue sky and clear air. The fountain in the center was the pinnacle of beauty.

Beautiful place to visit and look around. Walking around the outside near Sunset will give you some amazing photos. We went to a Diner en Blanc here a few years ago, and it was an amazing setting. From late afternoon through Sunset and then after it was dark and all the lights were on, so the Building really looks good under lights. The inside is also just as beautiful, if not more. There are paintings all over the place, the walls and also the ceiling and domes. They are all really cool and worth a good look. Also photo worthy if you are in to that sort of thing. I also had my Covid vaccine here and both times (first and second jabs) the experience was really good. We weren't standing in line for very long and were processed through the various stages of signing in and waiting for the nurse to finally administer the vaccine shots. We then waited in a second waiting area for 15 minutes so they can make sure you do not have any immediate adverse reactions to the vaccine. I would recommend you try and register to get your vaccine here if you have not had it yet. The experience for us was seamless and overall a good experience.

This park is so lovely to walk through at any time of day. The trees provide ample shade for a picnic or small party. The architecture is magnificent and so elegant. We so a number of couples getting wedding photos at a backdrop here. It has beautiful fountains and little ponds too. It's located right next to the museum and also has a few cafes around its edge if you need to pick up something to eat for your picnic.

One of the classic pieces of open space in Melbourne. They have a few of these inner city parks and they do a great job of making them appealing. Carlton Gardens, along with Fitzroy Gardens and Treasury Gardens are all immaculately maintained which makes them inviting. Each has its own feature and there are a few with Carlton Gardens. The Museum is one, the heritage listed Exhibition Building is another and the wide open spaces. Slightly north of the city but the tram goes straight past.

Such a lovely space. The Exhibition Building is a beautiful piece of architecture and craftsmanship. The gardens are spacious and welcoming. Avenues of deciduous trees are as majestic without their greenery in the winter as they are shady and cool in the summer. Excellent spot for a picnic and some great eateries in nearby Carlton and Fitzroy and the Spring Street end of Latrobe and Lonsdale. The Melbourne Museum has striking architecture and is a very user friendly space. Interesting and stimulating exhibitions and has a couple of good eateries. A great day out with the kids. All accessible by tram.

Carlton Gardens playground is just great. If you don’t get an anxiety from not being able to see your child behind one of many thick concrete dividing walls, you may enjoy this place as much as I, and far more than my wife. There is a basketball court for people keen to try that new American sensation.

The last time I went there was to make sure the guy my friend was meeting up with that she met online didn’t kidnap her. During my stay, I waltzed the gardens with my buddy and we took in all the nature and the atmosphere. It was a lovely day and the sun shining through the leaves of the abundance of trees brought a blade of happiness to my otherwise dull day. Would highly recommend for children and dogs.

Definitely worth a visit to Carlton Gardens whether you are a local or a tourist. It's such a beautiful space which is home to the Melbourne Museum, the IMAX, Royal Exhibition Hall, ponds, gardens, a playground, tennis and basketball courts, as well as lots of lovely walking trails. It's perfect for family gatherings and picnics, a bit of culture and history at the museum or just a good run around at the kids playground. I enjoy the fact that there are lots of walking paths which are suitable to take a pram on and do big loops of the gardens.
