👍👍 A glorious place to walk. Beautiful scenery and green pastures. Quite a peaceful walk up the hill or around the lake. There is a toilet near the car park which is very convenient. And if you have time, watch the sunset from the top of the hill. Enjoy. People often mention walk, dogs, area, lake, park, walking, great, water, nice, Great,

We had such a beautiful time here! One of the best kept secrets in the area. Such a great walk or good for folks who would like a relatively flat bike ride. So nice to walk along the creek as well as doing a full lap around the lake. Plenty of bird life, a variety of nature a lovely experience, whatever the weather and walking ability. Leave yourself plenty of time if you prefer a stroll or allow an hour for a quick lap. Dogs on leads welcome and appreciated especially with little children enjoying the park and surrounds. Oh also, there's a fabulous picnic area close to the car park. Very shady and peaceful.

Beautiful natural publis reserve tucked away, and slightly off the beaten track. We enjoyed the full loop walk - approx 2.3 km - that passes two lakes, a flat gravel path, and provides the opportunity for bird watching. Carport area has toilets, seating, tables, limited shelter and information boards. Birdsland is named after settlers - the Birds family - however, there are also plenty of actual birds!

Gorgeous place for a barbecue or walk. Dog-friendly: water tap near entrance to park with spot for dogs to get water to drink; I noticed most people kept their dogs on leads along the path, but there's a paved set of stairs which is a spot for dogs to jump safely into and out of the lake around the furthest part of it, splash around and have fun. Birds have their own island so it's easy for them to fly off and rest if the dogs come too close. The creek and lakes all look really healthy and the forest is lush and much less dry than it was when I was growing up - I expect the improvements to the paths help ensure it's a wonderfully idyllic and interesting walk so that people don't go crashing through and stomping on the local flaura trying to get a better experience. Lots of happy ducks and other wildlife to appreciate.

Excellent place to have a walk or some exercise. Easily accessible by foot once parked. Main track has no real steep inclines for those worried. Great place for leashed dogs as well. There is a gravel track all around the main walking area which is quite large with some hiking trails branching off from it. Lovely area.

So much fun and very beautiful! We went later on Sunday and a lot of the buildings were closed, but we loved the nature walks and the little lake.

Love taking our fur baby here to meet up and walk with her fur friends. Our Doberman group often meet here for a walk. (20+ Dobermans) Lake area for doggie drinks/ swim/ splash. Lovely level walk for all abilities. Picnic area available with plenty of seating & BBQ's as well as drinking water. Long drop toilets available

We regularly attend here. It’s a great place to go for a walk with the children but an even better place to do a spot of birding. I spot between 15-30 species every visit and you’re guaranteed to always see an Australasian darter and hear whistler birds and warblers. Kangaroos and wallabies are also about, with the odd snake or two if you’re early. The toilets could do with a bit of a revamp.

We got caught out there when the recent massive Tuesday storm hit, damaging winds, trees down white out hail swirling storm as we stayed with our dogs under the shelter, still got drenched and heard 2 large gum trees crash down near by, what a buzz, visited 2 days latter to get these images, beautiful place but stay away if there is a storm

Gorgeous reserve with airy undercover areas, good parking, and cool shaded areas. We didn't go around the trails this time but they appear to be flat and readily navigable by wheelchairs. Lovely place.

This is our local and we love it. So nice and peaceful, great little walk around the lake. Dog friendly which is an added bonus. The car park inside is a tad small during busy times.

Great place for an easy walk. Lots af bird life, plenty of kangaroos to see. Backs on to lysterfield, so if you're keen, you can walk all the way to the lake.

We love Birdsland. Great for bike riding with small children, walking our dog or just enjoying the scenery. Only issue we have is parking on nice days!

Very pretty around the water with lots of bird life, then head off towards Dargon track and on into Lysterfield Park. Good tracks and very peaceful in the bush.

This was a great place for a walk during a cold, sunny winter day. We arrived mid-morning, and there were many parking spots til around a little after noon. The reserve boasts a bubbling stream to and from the two basins: a lake and pond with a well maintained trail to walk around. The whole circuit was 2km, but you could branch off to other bush walks that prohibit dogs to increase mileage. This was wide, gravel trail that we shared with a lot of visiting locals, their kids in prams, and their dogs. There is a dedicated section for dog swimming, too, and many water fowl to witness on the water. Trails branching towards Lysterfield park can be accessed by the far west side of the basins by going up Nixon Rd and taking a gate that intersects the Dargon Track, as the mountain bike trails are sectioned off with fencing. We saw a lot of MTB'ers come off this section. The parking area has a covered barbecue section, although it didn't look like the grills were working at the time as they'd run out of gas. I spotted maybe 3 picnic benches, a rock area people hung around, and 2 working toilets. In all, great facilities, low foot traffic mostly taken up by the locals, and a very accessible walk kept us here for a good 3 hours.

Very well maintained walking track with the winding creek which opens out to two larger lake areas. Flat areas for all fitness levels. Popular for on leash dog walking. Toilet facilities in car park. Great area for the whole family. A well hidden gem!
