    Bouvier is a hidden gem of Lygon Street. Unassuming from the outside, the inside is a sleek, cosy cocktail bar and bistro serving classic and well executed NY Italian-inspired fare. The snacks are a must - I loved the gnocco frito, anchovy toast and corn ribs with chimichurri. They also do a truly excellent prawn tagliatelle that’s hearty and well flavoured with plenty of garlic and breadcrumbs, but not too rich. The cauliflower with garlic labne and steak frites are also lovely. To drink, there are plenty of great wines but the cocktails really shine - namely the banana-forward king king and the apple pie moonshine-driven chiaro de luna.

    Absolutely perfect. Best steaks I have ever eaten at a restaurant. All food is perfectly cooked and tastes great. Staff are so friendly and service is spot on. The cocktails are, of course, sensational. Good wine list too, by the glass or bottle.

    Had my 50th upstairs in a private room. All the guys there made it a special and fantastic evening. Bruce and Linda, Mel and Michelle and even Adrian Richardson went out of their way to make it an event to remember. Service was impeccable, food abundant and delicious, ambience perfect. Highly recommended

    We came for the cocktails and some nibbles fairly early on a Saturday. The staff are super friendly and the cocktails were superb. The winner by far was the Apple moonshine guy, delicious and sour and blew our socks off. For food we had the rabbit pie, the mozzarella sticks with the nduja, and the beef tartare. My favourite was the rabbit pie, the wife's was the mozzarella sticks but all three were very tasty. We'll definitely be back to treat friends. Well done guys

    Great steaks perfectly cooked and great cuts, sides were amazing. Wine list was fantastic and more importantly the service was 5 star. Special thanks to the waitstaff - you guys made our night (not to detract from the amazing food) our plates were spotless after each course. We’ll be back.

    I never give a bad review, however this time have to make an exception. We’re dining with friends at the Bouvier Bar. Ordered a meal that turned up cold and over 1hr after ordering. At this price point you would expect only the top quality experience but to my disappointment this was not the case. Drinks were expensive, spent over $400. There’s plenty of restaurants and bars in the area providing better value and service.

    Saturday night atmosphere was beautiful. Service was fantastic by a couple of youngsters who know their food…… Polpette……great Calamari…….great Steak……..good. One of the best bars I’ve seen.

    Came on a quiet Thursday night and were treated to a real good meal and very nice service. The entrées were the highlight of the meal - excellent meatballs with great rich tomato sauce. Roast cauliflower was great also. Tempted by the steaks but we went for the pasta mains. Gnocchi was great, great earthiness from the mushrooms and sauce. Prawn linguini was okay - it was nicely presented but I’m not a huge seafood fan and wasn’t sold on the sauce. Figured we’d get dessert so we went for the panacotta. Solid dish with good texture, good way to cap the meal.
