I had a good time at BearBrass, I enjoyed their vegan options. Great customer service and nice vibes. definitely recommend it

Not a bad place. Came here for breakfast. Had to wait outside for a couple of minutes for no reason at all. The place wasn’t packed or anything with many seats still inside. The staff were friendly enough. But the food…definitely could have been better. The fried eggs had the yolk solid (I hate that). And the bacon was absolutely burnt to a crisp…literally! The burnt taste took away from the mushrooms I ordered and was left lasting in my mouth for hours after. I couldn’t get rid of it! The good thing is they took Amex though. Hence the 3 stars.

Great value and service! I was with my 5 year old niece, who wanted a milkshake immediately 🤣 The staff brought colouring books and the milkshakes very quickly. The steak was as ordered, great flavor sauce and fries too. Good spot for a nice bite! Enjoy!

At first glance, yes the food looks amazing. Presentation goes a long way here because the taste does not. The fish tacos had little to no flavor and relied on the fried nature of the dish to compensate for the rest of what the dish has to offer. Even with the fried fish, it still lacked seasoning and was very plain. As far as the chips, you cannot mess those up (most of the time). They were not bad and ended up being my dinner in lue of the deceiving meal. The staff was very friendly and very attentive.- they are not to blame. This is just an opinion to aid others. This was an 75 dollar meal along with 2 large glasses of wine so I hope the transparency helps.

Not being Melbourne locals, we stumbled across this wonderful place. The service is awesome and the steak is just divine and cooked to perfection, and I am fussy with ordering steak. I got the steak that was on a special menu. My partner had chicken snitzel. Both meals were great. We even came back the next day as we knew it was reasonably priced, great food and service. I definitely recommend coming here if your in Melbourne.

Daughter chose this place for Mother’s Day as pet friendly. Had a table booked for 17:30 and was greeted by a polite waiter and taken to our table. Our table was reserved for one in the centre but as we had Coco (our dog) with us we requested a more secluded table so she wouldn’t get in anyone’s way and this was accommodated. The ambience and staff were warm, service prompt and the food including entrée was delicious. Thank you for making a special evening even more wonderful.

We were at Bear Brass for a meal today to celebrate my daughter in law and grandsons birthdays. What a great place, the food was delicious, the service exceptional, we didn’t feel rushed, we sat, talked, ate, drank, we took our own cake and no charge was given for that, and at no time did we feel we needed to hurry because they needed our table, even though there was a constant flow of people. Bear Brass can I just say thank you for a wonderful meal and atmosphere and most importantly do not under any circumstances let your staff go, they are amazing. They are attentive, kind and no matter how busy they were they found the time to stop and make a 9 year old little boy celebrating his birthday feel special. Bravo. Awesome place, awesome people. 😁

Great place, very warm atmosphere with wonderful fresh food at very reasonable prices!! Woodfire Pizza was spot on, very authentic my son loved it! When his pizza arrived I was told by the waitress that my Paella was 1 minute 30 seconds behind.....and she was spot on so great communication from Chef to floor staff! Katie was a fantastic waitress, very friendly with a warm smile! Highly recommended 👌

My Cousin suggested this place for lunch, and I hadn't been before. I was pleasantly surprised. We had a fabulous table outside, but under cover, with a view over the river. We ordered two different vegetarian Pizzas (Mushroom and Spring Vegetables) which were both amazing. It was impossible to choose which was best. They were some of the best Pizzas I've had. Staff were pleasant. The Coffee was pretty good, but not the best I've had. I'd suggest offering Sugar, though. The menu had something for everyone.

Had an amazing experience here the other night. The best view and the most amazing customer service! We had the paella and pork belly which was both yum. The portions are little bit small for the prices but totally understandable. They also have a great selection of wine and cocktails.

Gorgeous location at Southbank and fantastic views of the Yarra river. Good to check it out if run out of other options. Good menu n good range of beverages. Came undone by the quality of the final product. Tried the paella which was too sour and the fresh vegetables which were overcooked n burnt. The cocktail was extremely diluted. The customer service is also worth a miss -not friendly and not keen to serve.

Came here for breakfast before the Australian Open and naturally it was very busy. As a result the service was very slow, with coffees taking a long time to be brought out - at least 20 minutes. It also would’ve been nice to be given water as soon as possible after sitting down. Our food took about 50 minutes too which was quite frustrating when we wanted to get to the tennis. The food was good, but unfortunately not worth the wait.

Let me tell you… As always Sundays we love to eat out with our lovely grandchildren, the boys love pizza, we tried different restaurants in Southbank searching for gluten free meals, luckily for me we came to this bistro where they cater for coeliacs, the Margherita pizza was quite bland, however the chorizo pizza was delicious. We also had a cocktail and some great snacks. Thank you for the delicious food!!

Had a great time at BearBrass! They've got seats inside and outside. Outside can get a bit busy, but it's perfect if you're with a group for some drinks. Inside is really nice, cool vibe, kinda fancy. The service is awesome – friendly staff and they pay attention. We tried the fish and chips and a prawn pizza. The pizza was thin-crust and came in 6 slices. Fish and chips had a big fish fillet, a good bunch of chips, and a fantastic greens salad with an amazing topping. Food was delicious, and you get a good amount for what you pay. Prices are reasonable too.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch today, we ordered a variety of small plates to share and they were delightful. Everything was greatly priced and all staff where very friendly and welcoming. We definitely will return. Thank you and merry Christmas.

Always enjoyed coming to the Bear Brass for drinks with the nice atmosphere and city views. Decided to try dinner here on Friday night and sadly it was extremely disappointing. The beef burger was flavourless and dry and it looked like the ingredients had just been thrown into the bun. My partner and I used to visit the Bear Brass often but sadly not sure if we will return!

Solo diner, chose after a long day of travel and wanted a nice dinner. The paella really appealed to me, but it was mediocre and very little seafood. Local wine, suggested by server, was good. Atmosphere was nice, service was good. Great location. I might have just chosen wrong.

Went in for Sunday lunch after an NGV trip….Didn’t expect to have the best burger of my life. The staff were very attentive and lovely. Highly recommend the beef burger and the warm sticky date pudding. Will come back again for sure.

Went there for the first time. Food was hot and really amazing. I loved my cocktail too. Nice ambience that overlooks southbank river and walkway. Overall had a wonderful experience and would like to visit the place again.

Had a really tasty dinner after seeing a show. The salad was delicious and my wife had fish. Excellent food, service could not be faulted. Definitely will be returning the next time we’re in Melbourne. Thank you staff for that brilliant experience.

Great spot for riverside dining in Southbank. The paella was excellent, tons of smokey flavour.

Good food but not a good experience due to lack of service, it appeared well staffed and moderately busy. Brought in and seated given a menu and drink order taken and then nobody came back to take our order we tried to flag two staff down but they were very focussed on walking away. When we ordered we clarified our order as one was a plain order. We waited over half an hour in which time no one checked on us or updated us, we again tried to flag someone down to check on our order, again with difficulty. When our order arrived the plain order was incorrect so had to wait for it to be redone. We weren’t brought any cutlery or napkins, had to ask a staff member to bring us napkins. All round wouldn’t be going back or recommending.

Hard to review my experience as it was a public holiday and it was busy for the number of the staff they had. It seemed to be the only place opened for breakfast. Service was overall ok. And food was good.

I loved the vibe. The food was so good. I was surprised I could get a whole meal for only 24 dollars . Great job to the staff.

Fantastic venue. We hadn’t booked and it was Mother’s Day yet the Manager, Rhys, managed to find us 6 seats. We were treated to a free glass of bubbly and we ended up staying for nearly 4 hours! Music was infectious 80’s and the food was lovely, prompt, and hot and all the staff were super polite and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

My friends and I went here for breakfast on Mother's Day. The owner, Rhys, gave us a glass of bubbles on arrival which went down very well! The food was delicious, the staff were attentive and overall it was a fabulous experience. We even stayed for more bubbles and lunch! I would definitely recommend this restaurant

Great pizzas. Attended with friends for midweek lunch. Just asked for a bottle of red to go with it nit looking at menu. It was nice, so when the waiter asked if we would like another one we also agreed. It was a shock to find out it was $73 or $74 a bottle. Pizzas were reasonable at $25ish.

Great location. Friendly welcoming staff. Our dog is always given water. The food is great. We were served by beautiful Maisie yesterday and another friendly young waitress who brought Peppi his water. Highly recommend this restaurant. We have been several times now and have always enjoyed the entire experience 👍🏻

All the food and drinks ordered was amazing. Didn’t take long at all to be cooked, serving was efficient and friendly, flavours of food was prominent and delicious. Highly recommend: - Zucchini Fritters (especially dipped in the sauce) - Lamb with Bread (flavours mixed very well together) - Salmon (perfect level of salt) - Beef burger (outstanding and bursting with flavour) Overall 9/10

Really lovely staff. Food (although presented well) was very average in taste and overpriced for the quality and portion size. Even the chips tasted bland, cold and stale. The view is beautiful but no better than others on the bank. Wouldn’t come again

Easily the best spot in Southbank. The staff are extremely friendly and on the ball. We enjoyed our breakfast very much and our coffees came out very quickly. I’ve also managed to have after work drinks here before and if you want a great view of the city you won’t be disappointed.

Tried to book a table for 20 guest only to be told it would be a set menu, at $40 per head, and wouldn’t accommodate us ordering off the main menu but were happy to take a booking for there upstairs restaurant which is more expensive. Really disappointed that the largest table they would take a booking was for 15 guests. I’m surprised in these times they would let 20 paying guests just go elsewhere, what a missed opportunity.
