Good value, great location, comfortable Charming hotel. Booked 2 rooms and stayed for 4 nights. Arrived late at 10+ pm but it was not a problem as there was someone at the reception waiting for us. The location is great. Not only is there a tram stop right in front of the hotel, it is also near Princes Park and University of Melbourne which gave me plenty of good options for my morning runs. Access to the city and amenities was really convenient using the trams.

Visited this place specifically because they sold Wolf of the willows beer. It was a lovely afternoon so we sat outside which had a good range of seating. Indoor seating was spacious and there was a separate area for large groups. Great beer, wonderful service and the menu had some very tasty offerings. We only had a bowl of chips, but I will return to try out the other options.

Naughtons is the best. Stayed at the hotel for 6 weeks when I first moved to Melbourne from Canada and was still working out an apartment. The room was lovely, it’s very centrally located, and close to transit. The restaurant is also fantastic, with a warm and comforting atmosphere, as well as great quality food and drinks. But really the best part is the staff, they’re so incredibly friendly and really helped welcome me to my new home. I go back all the time just to see them :) Cannot recommend Naughtons enough!

Went here for a birthday in the private function room upstairs. The building, space and staff were excellent, can't fault them. The food was the only thing that let it down: the gravy was thin and lacked flavour, the cauliflower dish was so fragrant that several people couldn't eat it, and the accompanying side dish made no sense, but tasted nice by itself. The chips were amazing! The food was fine; it just wasn't as good as many other Melbourne gastropubs offer.

We had lunch in the restaurant - great service and above average pub meal but with all your favorites - roast dinners, schnitzel, hamburgers, etc. Nice decor and a world away from the bar I remember in the 1990s!

Staying nearby for a few day's. A true walk in. Delicious options food and alcohol wise. French Rose to begin, 150 day aged rump medium rare with a salty salad, wasn't why it was so salty. The meat was divine, coupled with a tasty Shiraz. Also obtained a bottle of Bishop for take away. A great treat. See you next time. My kind of place.

Great menu of jazzed up pub classics. Dining room is really well set out so it's both buzzy and intimate. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Good beers on tap and lots of variety. Great for a leisurely Friday lunch.

Great to see old heritage hotels reinvigorated. Far cry from the primarily student pub of around 40 years ago. Although at a guess mostly student workers In summer outside dining on Royal Parade amongst the mature Elm trees - thriving despite concerns of beetle and fungus a couple of decades ago - and passing trams, cyclists, and of course cars and trucks. Dinner is good. Avoid Fri nights, too busy. That's probably been the same since it opened in 1873 :)

Great food and service. Magic outdoor dining at night. Not just pub food but food made with love. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Great Pub & excellent accommodation. Stayed there for a few nights a couple of months ago & we're going back there next month. Staff were friendly & helpful. Only a short tram ride into the city with a stop right outside the door. Highly recommended. I just want to add that we stayed there again on the 13th & 14th of January & want to give a shout out to the Manager that was on duty Sunday. There were a couple of issues with two of the three rooms we had & he went beyond what we expected to resolve them. Cannot recommend Naughtons Hotel highly enough.

Whilst not the $10 burgers and $10 jugs of my misspent youth, Naughto's has done a great job reinventing themselves as a bit of a gastro pub. The food is delicious, and the serving sizes are very generous. Love the range of non alcoholic drinks.

Had food and drinks here on multiple occasions. The dishes and drinks are excellent quality. Never stayed in the rooms, so can’t comment on that. But the rooms are likely pretty good because they are usually booked out. Should be a very convenient accommodation location for tourists who want to visit Parkville, Brunswick, Carlton, and CBD. It is next to the 19 tram line, get you to many places.

We always try to have a meal here whenever we are in Melbourne. And the Sunday roast is my favourite. The service was excellent and we were given a lovely table by the window. Good food, great service and wonderful atmosphere. What more could we ask for. We definitely recommend this place and will be back again!!

The pub fit out is very nice, understaffed but staff worked very hard to handle a busy night and were very professional and friendly. The food was very very average. No stand out dishes. The acoustics were very poor hence constant loud noise which made it impossible to converse. I was looking forward to dining here but left very dissapointed.

Just finishing up a 4 night stay here and couldn't be happier. Excellent location, super-friendly staff, outstanding food and drink on-site and clean, well-managed room with tons more personality than any large chain hotel. Thanks to the staff for the great hospitality!

Naughton’s Hotel hosted our 50th birthday celebration last night and they were fabulous! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Finger food and drinks were perfect. We had a great night and appreciate how Naughton’s made it so easy! Thank you!!

We’re always on the look out for a good and proper Sunday roast! We had a roast beef and the meat was so tender and juicy, lean, yorkshire pudding is so scrummy, roast potatoes were perfect, veg very good, gravy a little weak but still ok, horseradish paired well with the beef. Atmosphere is nice, clean and relax with seatings well spaced so you don’t hear other people’s conversation. Outside seatings are also clean and I’m sure it’s a hit during summer. Staffs are friendly, efficient and helpful. There’s a good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The dessert menu could be improved … Sunday roast is superb and needs an equally superb sweets. BTW, only reviewing the restaurant. Book ahead if you don’t want to be turned away as they do fill up quickly.

Basic accomodation, but perfect for what I needed. Quiet, clean and plenty of hot water. Staff were all fantastic. Food in the pub downstairs was top notch.

The schnitzel at Naughtons is superb, and the staff are always very friendly. The hotel has a great atmosphere. It's our favourite place to go after public lectures.

Great dining, gorgeous atmosphere and very family friendly. The acoustics were really good - music there but not too loud. Good wine list and on tap beers too! Will be coming here for dinner again!

A must try place! The venue is so Melbournian; warm, open and welcoming. It’s spacious too. My husband and I recently had dinner there and would def go back. Ordered the hummus, grilled lamb belly and steaks as it was steak night. Seriously so good! Great technique, flavour and skill. It really shows in the menu. Special shout out to the front of house attendant, Celia, who gave such an excellent customer service. Good knowledge and service overall.

Steak night, popped in here after a shift, just before last food orders. Really good service, great drinks, and a lovely steak with some delicious sides that were as good if not better than the steak! Will be back!

Had top lamb lunch here last year! Excellent. Good but relatively small wine list, not too big a problem though. Wine prices quite fair.

Walked in without a booking and they managed to happily fit our table of 7 in. Staff and atmosphere was great. I had the burger and it was the best burger I've had in a long time. Would definitely go back just for the burger!

The best experience ever for in-city exploration. The room was perfectly sized, with large windows and gorgeous views. More importantly, the location. Being my first time in melbs, I found the tram stop a few steps away the most invaluable thing. Thank you Naughtons team for the unforgettable experience😄

Amazing pub, great atmosphere, food was really good, could do with bigger portion sizes, snitzels where tiny and spaghetti was as well. Other than that food tasted amazing and venue was clean, warm and welcoming.

One of my favourite pubs. Best of old-school Melbourne and novo-gastro. Great atmosphere, service and food.

A nice gastro pub. Was in for a lunch and was great. Pricey but expected with the table service and good quality of food. I had a salad and it was very tasty.

Naughtons isn't your average pub, it is more upper class which is reflected in the prices, especially the food menu. It has a lovely interior, and they also have plenty of outdoor seating also. Great spot to grab a couple of drinks or dinner (if you can afford it) especially after classes/work at Melbourne uni

I couldn't recommend Naughtons enough! The room was execptionally clean, bright, and comfortable. The size of the bathroom was much bigger than I expected and even included a bath! The staff were all incredibly friendly, super accommodating and made me and my sister feel so welcomed. The fit out of the hotel is so cute and feels very much like you're in a Wes Anderson set. Thank you so much to Molly and the team at Naughtons; we'll definitely be back!

It's a great venue for group meet ups! It's very easily accessible by public transport. It's got private rooms, spacious dining areas and a nice bar. Very comfortable environment and good vibe. I recommend it for large group events!

This beautiful old Hotel was a gorgeous find, close to Melb University, Royal Meb Hospital and Trinity Church. Lygon St just a short walk through Trinity Lane to where the best cafes, pubs and restaurants are located in Melbourne. The old world charm of yester year is evident in the clean and spacious bedrooms upstairs (no lift access). The modern bathing facilities with luxurious toiletries at hand for personal use whilst you stay was Ideal, especially if you travel light like l do, but please don't "knick" the cannisters or contents or you'll be rightfully charged, be mindful that other guests will appreciate these items being present! There is a fully stocked bar and food service available downstairs. Tues-Sat and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The outside traffic on Royal Parade quietens down around 10ish and a restful sleep can be obtained when the block out curtains are used. There is a small Cafe about 100m away, for Breakfast, Brunch or light Lunch. This hotel in surrounded by old Victorian terrace homes with architecture from a bygone era, much to be admired still in amongst the jungle of modern, less eye appealing buildings that Melbourne seems to be overtaken with these days. Very comfortable hotel so conveniently located just 10mins on a tram from the CBD.

Classy as always, Naughtons now offers better value than before, and is still a great location to have a beer or some food on a nice sunny afternoon. Highly recommend it

We have visited Naughtons many times for dinner and the food is exceptional, the drinks list is fantastic and the staff are always so lovely and welcoming. We recently had our wedding reception at Naughtons and the staff went above and beyond to make it such a fantastic event. All the guests loved the food and drinks. We stayed upstairs overnight and the rooms were super comfortable and clean. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Outstanding. Had a business lunch - outstanding staff & venue and the food was amazing. The 300g Porterhouse has made my top 10 steak list for sure, amazing dish and very well priced for the quality of beef. Keep it up guys, I'll be back for sure.

An old classic hotel beautifully renovated. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. There's a really good restaurant and bar downstairs and the tram stop us right outside. A great base for a Melbourne visit.

Came here for a winery lunch. It’s good. The dining area is lovely and well appointed. The food was good but maybe not top draw. The best course was an unusual one. It was advertised as mussels with bread and we expected a bowl of mussels with some bread on the side. Instead it was mussels on the bread with lovely green touches. It was a lovely dish. The wines from Narkoojee were exceptional and the pairings were excellent. Service was variable throughout. It was spectacularly good from our prime server Grace but typically less impressive from other servers except the senior male manager who was really good. It’s a nice gastro pub, and we’d happily return anytime.

Ate dinner here with a friend before a group booking. The service in the restaurant was fantastic and staff were very friendly and helpful. The food itself was alright but perhaps overpriced for the quality but still had a thoroughly enjoyable night
