Asked for almond milk said they only do oat, went to pay with cash told they only do card. Small strong coffee is $7 which is crazy (not on a public holiday or weekend). Expected it to be the world’s best coffee at that price but wasn’t strong or that good sadly.

Expected a lot more from a cafe with such expensive equipment on display. Other people have mentioned that the coffee is very mild and does not cut through the milk, that is because they are using a very generic (and cheap) Brazilian coffee in their dark blend. When you roast yourself there is simply no excuse for being so cheap with coffee quality. Skills on the espresso machine are also not up to the level of presentation. Looks good but does not deliver on quality. I second some of the below comments about the owner/ manager having a very high opinion of himself. My local cafe in Surrey Hills roasts their own coffee that would cost at least three times what this guys McLatte would cost and their are always friendly. (I only went to kill some time after dropping off a rental car but as a coffee roaster myself I haven't been able to shake my annoyance at this place).

Coffee bean roastery and cafe on the way out of town in Brighton. Makes for a nice brunch escape and a change of pace from the city centre. Menu offers most brunch classics but is significantly cheaper than other venues (Avocado Toast under $15.00). Ordered an espresso which didn’t come with sparkling water on the side; this is standard at most espresso bars like Spriga or Allpress. Will go somewhere else next time for coffee.

A friend recommended this place as his favourite coffee in Melbourne. I didn't believe him but now that I've been, it is one of the top cafes in Melbourne if you like prefect crema and robust, aromatic beans. Not a place for food as they focus on the beans. I'd say the coffee here is on par with some of the best places in the CBD. Highly recommend and worth the trek.

Cozy layout with wooden fittings with a nice little outdoor setting hidden out back. Menu is small but nice. I come for the coffee though which I roasted in house. Ask for the special menu and see the list of single origins which I highly recommend.

As a local I'd love to love this place! However, although the staff are super friendly I have a couple of grips about this place. Firstly they don't offer low fat milk; while non dairy options are available they come with a $1 supplement and I don't see what's wrong with offering skimmed milk in its own right. Secondly there supplementary charges are so high - I bought my daughter a large iced latte and got charged $7 - seriously an extra dollar for large and a further added dollar for ice!

My absolute favourite cafe of all time. Simple and delicious menu. But more importantly, the dedication to coffee (particularly filtered) is pretty special. I’ve been coming here for years and enjoying the Welsh Rarebit and lovingly prepared coffee. Thanks Andy and team - it’s always a pleasure to visit and see you.

This place makes the Broadsheet list of best coffee in Melbourne. Does it live up to the hype? Not quite. Ordered a flat white. Strong, bitter, with a full body, smooth. But to me too much bitterness, and perhaps a touch of sourness. Others may appreciate this style, which cuts through milk well. Good but not great.

Fantastic cafe serving great coffee from handrip to Italian coffee. Generous portion, good price and friendly services. Compliment to awesome Barista for his 5+ stars services on 20/2 arvo .

Outstanding coffee, and the food was exceptional! Tasty Avocado on toast and delicious egg and prosciutto rolls were our choices and we loved them. The service is outstanding and it’s a cafe that we’ll be returning to on a regular basis.

I attended a one on one barista training with Andy. This was a refresher course for me, yet I learned so much. Andy has a wealth of knowledge to share and is very passionate. I would highly recommend for an any starter or even if you think you’re experienced!

We did a coffee course for 3 people with Andy earlier this month. It was fantastic! Andy was super knowledgeable, easy-going and we learned SO MUCH! Highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to make a better coffee (at-home or for work.) The course was engaging, interesting and hands on and we had such a wonderful time. Thanks Andy & team :)

Best coffee course ever! Beautiful environment with 1 on 1 training which means you can ask all your desired coffee questions. Fabulous machine to practise on which gives you lots of confidence to walk away with a strong foundation on equipment as well as coffee!! Clear, really simple language used to explain everything you need to know on how to make a cafe vibe coffee!! Thanks Andy. 🙌💫☕️☕️

Service is great; however, food is expensive for what you get and not much on the menu. For two people came to $65. Felt completely ripped off

Overpriced, average at best coffee. Went on a PH, but even without the surcharge, still the most expensive. Flat white was ok-ish. Iced coffee-don’t even bother. Most other coffee shop uses larger cups for iced.

One of the best long blacks I've had in ages. Taste their veggie roll for lunch, it's simple but darn delicious. Will be back for sure!

The best coffee in Bayside! Friendly smiling faces to greet you and they remember the “regulars” coffee order! Simple fresh ingredients speak for themselves if you are after something to eat alongside your liquid gold!

The Kenyan pour over was really nice and the staff recommended the Cruffin, which is really good! It's an interesting little pastry, like a croissant in a log/elongated muffin form 😆 it's fun to eat. The staff are friendly and chill. During covid19 times, social distancing at this little cafe was very responsible the morning we went. Good on them! I really loved the high ceiling space as well! Really good vibes at this spot. Will definitely be back for more coffee & treats 😊

Long black drinker who loves great coffee. Hands down the best coffee in the area. Maybe even in Melbourne!

Great coffee, smooth oat milk latte, decent food, mild flavours, a little pricey yes but don’t mind it for the good service.

  • 1/5 Danny W. 7 months ago on Google
Wanted to buy a soy latte and I was told they only serve Oat as a non dairy option. I asked why they only serve oat and was told “we just feel Melbourne has too many options” haha what a woke joke. Melbourne does have many options, hence why I won’t be going back

Great coffee - milk perfection each time! Lovely staff. Price is the only reason why I gave 4 stars.

With the absolutely awful, disgusting way they treat their staff and customers, expect that to be reflected heavily in your food and drinks. Awful quality, mediocre coffee at best, and ridiculous prices for the quantity you get. You'd be better off going to the 7/11 down the road. Awful.
