Great coffee, and a lovely shaded side area to sit.

May the "latte" be with you ... Once in a while you've stumbled across a small boutique coffee roastery with a "funky" operator to match, they are closing at 2 pm ... so I was lucky being served after 2 😆 Here's one in Diamond Creek, it's all about the coffee, not much in set up, just lots of love and care in roasting their seasonal premium coffee beans. $4.00 for a small not borring milky latte full of characters, $6.00 for the Cronut, fuel and an hour to get there and back and may the latte be with you while you're driving back from there. No other place in Nillimbik or Banyule can compare to Marks coffee. The team behind Mark are beyond phenomenal and always make the effort to ask how your day is going and serve the best coffee - some days, I don’t even have to order, the just bring it to your table - they’re that good. From the food to the customer service and of course, the coffee. There is no better place to go!

Still serving great coffee. Had my coffee outdoors in the side courtyard, not sure if they are encouraging people to sit outside as there is a table blocking the front entrance. The coffee art was missing from my latte so maybe the shop had changed hands?

Nice little cafe, hidden in the corner. Excellent service and very good coffee. The smooth music in the background and the lovely interior gives a very warm and cosy backdrop while you have a coffee and something sweet - like (if I may recommend) an apple crumble with ice cream or a fruit toast. There's outdoor seating as well, which should be quite nice in good weather. Plenty of power points available if you need to work or entertain yourself (or just recharge your toys) while you sip through that coffee. On the down side, there aren't many parking spaces in front of the cafe so may have to park across the road or a bit further away during peak times.

The owner was super friendly and offered to adjust my coffee the next time I came back! Great coffee for Diamond creek in a hidden little cafe!

I've never given anywhere 5 stars before. I check out at least 2 new coffee haunts per week (Ireland, Netherlands & Oz) and this may have been the best coffee (and Café) I've come across. Calm service with a friendly smile and chat, in a super relaxed atmosphere (thankfully this place is out of the way or it would be swamped!). The they had run out of the Colombian but Mark (I think?) recommended the Brazilian which was just stunning (a natural but very well balanced). This place is worth the trip out, perfect before or after a stroll/hike around the beautiful surrounds or, if you're a cyclist, pair it with a crack at the Kinglake climb for a climb/coffee combo to rival any in the world. No, seriously.

I had the Colombia coffee. Bacon and egg sandwiches were delicious. Great customer service. It’s nice to have a local coffee shop that does proper premium coffee.

I could not rave about this place more. Not only does Mark make delicious coffee and roast his own amazing beans, he is also a genuinely kind and generous person who would do anything for anyone and always wants to support his community. This isn’t my local but I happily travel here when I can and always get beans from here. Thanks Mark for many years of great coffees and service that always makes me smile.

I have lived in diamond creek my whole life and only just discovered this little gem! Best coffee I have ever had! :)

Best coffee around! That’s all you really need to know, but the owner is super nice and friendly and great for a chat if it’s not flat out. I normally go for long back and it’s hard to find a good black coffee but Piccolo always nail it and I never leave disappointed. Can be busy at times but you get that with good coffee places and it’s worth the wait.

Lovely place for a coffee. The owner is very friendly and will adjust your coffee to your liking. We don’t live close but have travelled to visit many times just to enjoy the coffee here.

Such a pity this cafe is no longer a fully functional sit-in experience. Only offering take away coffee from a table in the door since covid - it never returned to opening up fully again. It's a shame to lose a good cafe in DC.

We were going to the new placespace and wanted to have a coffee and breakfast first, so we googled and found this place with really good review, and we were not disappointed. Coffee was really nice, I wouldn't say it's the best in Melbourne as we had better in Oakleigh, but definitely better than other coffee shops we had. We were told they don't do breakfast now but it was ok coz the raspberry muffins were so good! And the owner was really nice to make us a free babychino. Thank you!

We've been coming regularly to Piccolo for about a year, it definitely has been one of the best places to come grab coffee in Diamo! Great range of milk options (lactose free, soy, oat etc.) with fairly fast and very friendly service. However I deducted a star because recently, the coffee hasn't been great. I think, due to it being busy amidst lockdown, the coffees are often rushed and the milk isn't frothed + coffee tastes burnt. It's unfortunate, since a few months ago the coffees were consistently good every time. We will keep coming back in hopes that it improves, but would much rather wait an extra 5 minutes for an amazing coffee, vs one that doesn't taste great but is fast. Hope this helps! Edit: We've tried their soy and almond milk coffees, it was the oat milk that made the coffee not so good. Maybe swapping the oat milk would be great!

Stop looking for a good cup of coffee, this is it. The best coffee in Melbourne. It’ll pick you up, hug you and warm your soul. Fresh muffins every morning, met with an epic bacon and egg toastie will set you up for your day. Marky mark and the funky bunch have nailed it, highly recommended.

Mark makes a mean brew. I don't get to Diamond Creek often enough but when I do I get a brew. I've been drinking his coffees for 15 years, from when he worked in Monty pre-Piccolo days. He's always made a good coffee. Keep up the good work mate!

While riding the Diamond Creek trail I spotted a pair of walkers holding coffees, so I enquired as to where they got them and they directed me here plus emphatically recommended the coffee. It was just after Park Run so they were super busy, but my coffee was as good as it gets. I will return...
