Wine and coffee - great pairing in the cutest arcade! I loved it here. One of the only spots serving good coffee till late! Great vibes here nestled just off of the busy street.

Stunning. The wine, the coffee, the food. Staff are lovely too. One told me the meaning behind the term epicurean, so perhaps you'll learn something. Another always says "have a gooooood day" in an odd but charming way, quite tall too. I once went swimming during a hail storm, but I wore a pot as a hat so it felt quite safe and it was one of the happiest moments of my life. I might not ever get that feeling back but places like this help make each day brighter. Ding ding ding.

Love their pastries, but it’s their location and ambience that made this place special!

You know you’re looking good when you walk into your hole in the wall coffee shop and they’ve got Grace Jones spinning on the turntable, better yet the long black is as good as the vibe. Cathedral Coffee is a great little spot near Vintage Sole and Retro Star in Cathedral Arcade, one of Melbournes hidden arcade gems. Take a seat on the beautifully tiled arcade and watch Melbourne life go by. Friendly people making great coffee, it’s what makes Melbourne the best city in Australia.

You can't really go wrong with coffee in Melbourne but this place is definitely up there with my top favourites. Located within the Nicholas Building gives it a few bonus points but the coffee itself is just perfection and they have a great range of treats and sandwiches available too. We purchased a mortadella sandwich and it was bloody delicious!!

This is my first and hopefully last time ever bad review. I don’t usually like to put negative reviews for business. However, boy have I had multiple aweful experieces where ive had to write this. Extremely expensive coffee and baguette. Like way over the top and the service has been just aweful everytime. I usually get a long machiato and 2/3 times ive gotten a cold espresso shot with no dash of milk or water on the side. Today was just the last draw where I was waiting on the chair outstide, waiting on my friend to come meet me there and I was sitting outside where I was told to get up as this is for paying customers only and at the time there was 0 customers. Ive let the man know i am a customer and just waiting in my friend but he didnt care. Just not the experience you would expect from a cafe where people go to chill and enjoy the coffee and a chat. Seemed pushy, rude, expensive. I would forgive an expensive coffee for good manners and nice service but out of the 3-4 times ive tried the coffee there, I have not had one nice experience. As mentioned, I take no pleasure in giving such low scores but ive just had enough, honestly.

Literally kicked out this mum with two kids just eating out on their table… they had no customers at the time too which saddens me that someone can do that. I would understand if they were busy but they really aren’t there’s legit 3 tables w no customers I don’t see the problem. The poor family had to leave and stand up eating! I’ve gotten coffee from there too it wasn’t even that good so don’t waste your time!

Quality coffee, excellent location, lovely little arcade setting, and a nice vibe make this a rather nice spot to grab a coffee.

Indescribably rude, aggressive and unwelcoming assistant. I appreciate that there were eight of us, and therefore a lot to accommodate, BUT eight potential customers = eight paying guests. The worst customer service I have ever experienced! We should have gone elsewhere... we probably should have gone elsewhere anyway, the coffee was barely warm, and certainly not worth waiting for. Very disappointing.

Quickly grabbed a soy latte on my way home this morning. Decent atmosphere and friendly staff but why tf does my coffee taste like soap/detergent?!? Will i be blowing bubbles for the rest of the day? Probably. In all seriousness the coffee is good, not excellent but okay, (minus the soapy flavour). Would like to have tried the pastries on another day but after trying the coffee I don’t think i’ll be back. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth; literally. Glad I tried it though :) At least i know they’re clean.

We were there a few minutes ago and we were quite excited due to the good reviews but to our dismay, the experience we had was not as we expected it to be. The lady at the counter was very rude!!! She looked very impatient and kept giving us a very demeaning stare. She did not even help with our drinks! It’s my first time to experience such a bad attitude in a cafe in Melbourne. I really hope they can do something about this - such behaviour should not be tolerated!

Great friendly service. Nice food, except we were eating in and got our food in brown paper bags and disposable cups.

Places like this make Melbourne amazing. I want it to remain secret, but it has great food, drinks, and vibes.

Great coffee and food. Love the building. Great staff. And, best of all a wine bar at night. Great wines. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great place to visit in Melbourne. A must really.

Cafe located in a cute little arcade; the environment is lovely and the barista was friendly. Enjoyable experience, but the coffee was not hot enough.

The best coffee, baked goods and apparently at night they have wines and nibbles too! Can't wait to come back for a late arvo drink and nibbles!!! 😉

Beautiful historic arcade. Small. Worth looking into if you are already in the area. Be sure to look up at the gorgeous handiwork. Walk upstairs to see the letter chute, old cage lifts, and the vintage store and craft and fabric shops. The stair well is in a bit of disrepair. The historical boards give you a good idea of its history and hey days.

Gorgeous, cute little home away from home in an historic Melbourne building. Attentive, knowledgeable staff are dishing out great coffee and wine, and delicious food accompaniments. Can’t wait to return.

Okay. Friday night settled, a lil chil for a summer night. Came in for a bottle of Jean Yves Peron, ended with some amazing snacks. The fried toast with anchovies sheesh, and don’t get me started on the prawns on toast — if you like a lobster roll get these bad bois. To finish an unreal Grenache from Mano a Mano. Perfecto evening in the Melbourne cbd
