The everleigh is the most wonderful experience with the kindest and most helpful and delightful staff i have met. The interior decor is simply stunning, matched with 1920-40s music to truly set an old world atmosphere. The cocktails here are the best i have ever had. Highly recommend.

Wonderful bar but what's this nonsense about "responsible service of alcohol"? Do not go if you don't fit their mould. I had 2 cocktails $60, then was told to drink water before they would serve me again. Faye and the barmen are obviously YES voters. Not recommended and explains why it was nearly empty on a public holiday; due to the Marxist Staff. Happy to discuss. DJN

A funky yet sophisticated bar to enjoy your drinks in. Service was fantastic and it was great to have the staff curate drinks for you based on a couple questions. A must stop if you’re in the area as it’s very different from your “typical” bars through its 1940s to 70s vibes.

The Everleigh is a fantastic cocktail bar. Soft, warm mood lighting, wood panelling and leather furniture create the perfect atmosphere for delicious cocktails and quality conversation. The service is also unparalleled. The one cocktail I ordered that was not to my liking was quickly scooped up by our waitor with apologies and replaced with something new. There is sometimes a wait for a table, but it is worth it.

I am a local and love this bar, its ambience, its super fantastic cocktails and above all, its the exceptional customer service. A big thank you to Oscar who remembers everything about us and what we love to drink, he makes an extra special effort to pit together the next special cocktail and is he's super amazing. I had an amazing experience at the Everleigh. It did take me a while to find as it is quite hidden away and I am not the best with directions. The staff were attentive and not overbearing, they would top up the water as needed however didn’t constantly ask if you wanted more drinks they did a great job at reading the situation! Also the turn around time for the cocktails was surprisingly fast. We ordered the bartenders choice with suggestions of what we liked. The staff knowledge of their products were amazing and were able to suggest something straight away. I can’t remember the name of the drink I had however it was a mix of gin, apperol and something else would highly recommend. Will definitely be going back

Friendly staff, easy to talk to. Nice setup, has old school vibe, makes you feel like you're somewhere else. Great drinks but not cheap. Prepare to go down a money hole. My only criticism is the seating, it's not very intimate. I felt I was yelling at my partner over the ambience the whole night and would rather have been closer.

Hands down one of the best and classiest bars I have been to in Melbourne, albeit a bit expensive. You really get what you are paying for though. Everything sets this place apart, from the prohibition decade decor to the tailored drinks. Their ice is even impressive; made by them, crystal clear and in the form of blocks. The service is also super friendly, from the minute you enter. They make an effort to show you that they care about their customers.

Gertrude St is a pretty trendy place, but go up the stairs above Belle’s and you’ll be transported to somewhere reminiscence of the 1920s. Dark wood, moody yet cosy atmosphere perfect for a tipple (or more). Whether you decide to order from the menu or leave it to the bartender’s choice, you’ll be in safe hands. Highly recommended, just be careful with the stairs going down after as those drinks are pretty tasty.

Hosts were incredible. Drinks great and charcuterie board one of the best I’ve had. Bartender generally ignored me and others in favour of getting the phone number of two girls at the bar. Feeling like Mr Cellophane while spending $26 a drink on your first night in Australia was a horrible experience. Also,waiting an extra 10 minutes for my bill while he made a shot for the staff. What a joke!

Everleigh is simply amazing. The staff is very kind. We went there to celebrate my husband’s first birthday post our wedding and we both loved every bit of this place starting from ambience, music, Cocktails and hospitality. Definitely recommending it to others.

Gorgeous furnishings, impeccable styling and service. We felt at home even though our guest had never been somewhere so ‘swanky’ she enjoyed the wonderful service and felt at home. The music was perfect, the staff looked amazing and you really felt like you’d stepped back in time. The bartenders choice cocktails were all perfectly matched to our tastes. Will be back again!

Absolutely ridiculous service. We were there for over 1 hour and only had 1 drink when we arrived, no one came up to us to take another order or even refill our water glasses only one glass of water for the hour. Staff taking shots annd on phones instead of taking orders. There are so many better bars out there, do yourself a favour avoid this one.

Delicious cocktails!! They offer a very extend variety of cocktails according to your preference on spirit ( gins, rum, vodka, tequila, Mezcal, vermouth , sake) you name it! They made a special/ personalised Mezcal cocktail, they bartender or mixologist ask me about what flavours I like and didn’t and he create this delicious cocktail with my favourite Mezcal that is on house call ( 400 conejos) The experience by it self was great, the staff is super friendly. And I was able to send a postcard to my country! I mean what else can you ask on a night out!

Stepping into The Everleigh feels like travelling through time. There’s a warmth to the atmosphere, the drinks, and the staff that draws to mind venues that would play host to your favourite Mad Men character. Everything comes together to create a sense of stepping into a golden age of fine drinking, whether that be the foyer inviting you in, the beautiful decor once seated or even throwback bathroom signs. Importantly, the vibes at The Everleigh would feel out of place if the service and drink selection wasn’t immaculate. Luckily, this is where The Everleigh truly shines. Each time I’ve stopped by I’ve been treated to incredible service by knowledgeable and skilled bartenders – shout out to John and Kim for their work last night in particular – who have crafted excellent classic and bartender choice cocktails for me. I’ve also enjoyed limited runs of rums and gins and by simply trusting the staff, discovered new favourite liqueurs. If you’re looking for an enjoyable night of classy drinking, and somewhere that is always open late, you can’t do much better than The Everleigh.

I recently had my birthday party at the Everleigh in their newly renovated Elk Room. It was an absolute delight! The drinks were incredible (as usual) – my guests raved about the cocktails they had on the night! I was particularly impressed with the bartenders, who were positive and charismatic with all the guests throughout the night even though they were in high demand! They also remembered me & a couple of my guests from a previous night at the Everleigh which was impressive! For the function, I booked in the stationary cheese platter which went down a treat as well. The selection was varied and delicious, but also just enough to satisfy all of my guests. Everyone from the party is talking about the Everleigh and how they want to go back! The Elk Room is stunning and feels like an exclusive bar. My guests were in awe of the ambiance! Thank you to Bianca in particular, who put up with my e-mails, queries and over-the-top organisational needs for two years! I was totally blown away by your responsiveness and willingness to accommodate what I asked for. I would highly recommend booking the function rooms at the Everleigh for any event! (P.S. One of Melbourne’s best cocktail bars! Small curated selection of drinks on their menu but the skilled bartenders will make any drink that takes your fancy and they are very good at making personal recommendations according to your tastes. Beautiful, dark oak interiors with plush furniture. Overall a lovely spot for a drink.

if you like onions the Gibson at The Everleigh is for you, to be served extra onions on the side was a delightful surprise! Very atmospheric and effective interior fit-out. Oscar was very considerate in seating me somewhere suitable, and Tessa was very attentive and personable as a waitress. Would happily visit again.

The Everleigh is a fantastic cocktail bar. Fancy lighting and big old fashioned booths create the perfect ambience. They have a good selection of cocktails on their menu but I tried two bartender specials. We were served by a lovely bartender. I described to her what I like and she brought me two delicious cocktails of her choice based on my likes/dislikes. Sadly I had to leave early because of dinner plans but I plan to visit again soon and spend more time.

Cocktails are great as always, main bar is lovely. Some of the staff are super slick. Wouldn't recommend for an event, generally felt disorganised/lack of communication between teams.
