One of the best drives in the world, best times to drive it are between 10am and 3 pm as there is less traffic. Plenty of places to pull over and let others past, watch out for Wallabies grazing on the side of the road and lyrebirds are often spotted. Stop at Rowans Well to fill up your drink bottle with crystal clear spring water, and enjoy the drive further on past the majestic Cathedrals and between the Blue and Black Ranges

Beautiful road drive, but it was way to narrow and have very less spot to stop by. Lot of local driver drive much faster than the legal speed, and pressure us to drive fast like them. Yet, giving middle finger and angry horn after we found spot to stop and letting them pass through.

A fantastic scenic drive through the Yarra Ranges and the rainforest. I recommend to do the drive, while it’s raining or right afterwards. It gives the forest an almost mystic flair. Really beautiful!

Definitely one of the best places i have visited. Its a small piece of heaven on earth that I absolutely fell in love with. However, i wish there were safe stops near the road to park and take photos.

Amazing scenic drive if you want to take a detour from Healesville. The road is busy, zigzagging, and 80km speed limit, so unlucky for the driver. As for the passenger, you're in for a treat. Sky high trees and beautiful ferns line both side of the road as if you're going through the rainforest. It takes about 15 minutes to get through the best part of Black Spur Drive before we reached a rest stop where we made a U-turn back to Healesville to enjoy the scenery for the second time.

Black Spur Drive is a scenic route with beautiful trees and bushes, lush greenery all around. It's overwhelming in its beauty. There are very few places to stop, and the roads are somewhat narrow. However, it's still worth the drive. The air is superbly fresh.

Beautiful location. I would recommend going on a weekday. Having a drone is an advantage if you want to take beautiful pictures.

It is the most amazing and beautiful drive I have ever driven. It's a wiggly road with huge green ferns and tall trees on two sides of the road. The scene will be much better if driving on rainy or foggy days.

It's a beautiful drive with stunning views. It is a very curvy drive, so if you have motion sickness you may need to pop your pills for this one. Although the speed limit on the drive is 80, will highly recommend to drive a little slower if safe to do so. That way you get to enjoy the stunning views

Always a favourite drive of mine. Very scenic. No matter the weather it’s beautiful. Drive to conditions, also slow driver pull over points.

Beautiful drive not very long, if you’re going to go here, a stop in Marysville is a must and if you’re returning to Melbourne I suggest taking the turn through the yarra ranges via Warburton.

Best road I’ve ever been on and I was fortunate enough to have ridden it on a motorcycle.

I cycled this road in 2018 on a trip from Wollongong to Melbourne (and then Adelaide), unaware that it was ill advised. But what an experience! Creeping up the side in my granny gears and sliding down surrounded by ferns and towering mountain ash. And not too many cars luckily on the day.

It’s really spectacular. The best weather is probably after rain or when the fog is about to clear. The route to the north is the best viewing position, and the route to the south is just for general viewing.

A top class nature drive and it is an awesome for a chill drive. Thanks for all reviews that made us to check it out... Black Spur to Yarra Ranges and then Warburton along Yarra river would be even great. Plenty of places to stop by along Yarra river. It is a whole day picnic and you can visit Red Wood forest also on the way...😀

Fun road to drive with lots of fun winding bends yet gets very busy when the weather is nice. Really nice scenery too. Be aware of slow drivers👃🏼

It's a marvellous scenic drive between Healesville and Marysville that gets better and better the further you drive. Luscious rainforest ferns and massive trees, show a scenery you'll see reflected in old Australian paintings. A must-see road if you're roadtripping.

Great quick drive during Fall season. Was getting dark and rain was rolling in, but still a beautiful quick trip out of Melbourne.
