😠 Shouldn't have to write this as I ordered an easy dish in the Aussie Breakfast. Thirty dollars gave me two over fried eggs with no runny yoke on two pieces of very ordinary Coles style cheap white bread. Ok it was busy but the rest of the meal was just as bad. Diced mushrooms cooked so long they had... People often mention staff, coffee, time, friendly, ordered, service, salad, juice,

Shouldn't have to write this as I ordered an easy dish in the Aussie Breakfast. Thirty dollars gave me two over fried eggs with no runny yoke on two pieces of very ordinary Coles style cheap white bread. Ok it was busy but the rest of the meal was just as bad. Diced mushrooms cooked so long they had every molecule of water taken from them. A hash brown that was extra small and One sausage completely devoid of any flavor whatsoever. Worst cooked breakfast I reckon I've ever had. Can't imagine what their other meals are like if a basic breakfast is this lacklustre.

Service is is horrendous, disinterested lackluster staff. Food is definitely below average for the area but no issues charging a premium. Milk in my coffee wasn’t foamed properly, coffee it’s self was watery and still somehow bitter. There was a dead spider fussed to the inside of the sugar dispenser at our table. Lovely location though.

The one star is there because it has lasted. Lasted far too long. A one time ‘go-to’ favourite is now something ready for a buyout and re-do. Service if it could be called that is rude, slow and sloppy. Everything including the menu is washed out and old hat. Item upon item not available and then even after ordering had an item not available. Coffee cold, coke warm, cake stale and chips soggy, even forgot to bring cutlery even though we asked twice ! Ummmm go figure. #TimeToGoDendyDeli. I don’t think many would shed a tear.

A long time favourite, we love coming here for breakfast or brunch. The place is roomy and well located, the staff are very friendly and the food is good. It's beginning to look slightly tired but not enough to stop us coming!

Food was edible but wasn’t amazing, huge menu with loads to choose from though. Waiter looked like he hated working there. Cannelloni was pretty plain, could be seasoned better and the bolognese sauce tasted like it came straight out the jar. Salad wasn’t fresh, some of the leaves were wilted and yellow. French toast was alright, pretty basic. 📸 Cannelloni with Salad, French Toast with Eggs

Bought the eye fillet here. Ordered medium rare and recieved two small pieces cooked well done. No pink inside. Served with a butter knife but half way through a waiter ended up giving us steak knives. It was horrible.

Visited this place on the 23/01/24 for the first time and last time. It looks unappealing from the outside but decided to try as unappealing decor does not necessarily mean average/poor food. The service is beyond poor. They displayed arrogance, rudeness and impatience. Clearly, this business has been run by same people for years and simply don't care about customer service skills any longer. Besides this, the food was awful. I ordered a vegetarian focaccia and chips. My friend a pizza. I was under the impression that a vegetarian focaccia is filled with grilled vegetables.I received a salad focaccia.Noone asked. I assumed working in this industry they would ask the question. I say this with confidence as I worked in hospitality for over 20 years. I made the mistake thinking they would be aware of this. Chips arrived 15 min later. Food was tasteless. Friends pizza wasn't a pizza. More like flat bread with cheap ingredients. This place has no class no style. Give it a miss.

I went there with friends and I ordered the seafood risoto and a juice. The seafood was not fresh and they brought me the wrong juice. Food took ages to get ready and the staff couldn’t care less about the mistake and they were quite unkind people. They swapped my juice to the “right one” and brought an orange juice completely different than the one my friend received, mine was full of the things that usually stays in the strainer from the orange. It looked like they had strained the orange, and instead of giving me the juice from it, they gave me the left overs that stays on top of the strainer - where my friends one was clear liquid juice - only had a tiny steam left on her cup - photos attached, but it’s not as visible as in person. I commented about it to the lady that works there and she couldn’t care less, she said “they were too busy”. At the end of the meal, when we payed the bill, they charged 20 dollars extra and we just noticed when we left the place.

Dendy Deli is an institution and has been operating since the 90's I think. Have been here many many times either to eat in or to takeaway a coffee and falafel wrap. I really like their falafel wrap with its pickle. There is lots of seating inside and out and parking available on street or carpark behind. Great to pop in either before or after movie too. They have a large selection of cakes and my husband's favourite is their cheesecake. Dendy Deli is very family friendly whether kids or OAP's so I I can see Dendy Deli operating for another 30 years!

seriously negative experience every time. been multiple times now and won’t be back. service is apalling, woman walked over and slammed down wine glass, which was the wrong drink, didn’t even look at us when she did and we couldn’t signal to her to let her know as she stormed off. waited well over 30 minutes for food every single time. ordered poached eggs, both of which were rock solid and tasted funny, basically inedible. so frustrated with this place. will not be back.

The place used to stay open late and now they close at 9:30pm on a Saturday and I ordered 3 cakes and one was a sticky date pudding and the sauce was not even cooked. There was no ice cream or cream with. The 3 cakes were very dry. The staff said that is a chocolate or some sort of cake and didn't know what they are and did not show us. I was gobsmacked when I went to the counter to pay the bill the caked cost $36 and I felt it was not worth it and the chairs where falling apart and the staff where counting money when still had about 15 customers in the restaurant and they where using a battery power blower inside and not even thinking of the customers.

Great! Been here quite a few times now and would have to say I personally enjoy the coffee! Their simple iced latte was spot on, just a latte and ice which is what I want, nothing fancy 👌 Loved the tiramisu and wedges. The cafe reminds be of early 2000s cafe/diner kind of place. Reasonably priced. The cakes come in big portions and best to share I'd say! Service was good, sometimes a bit slow during busier periods. The barista who we always had when we ordered coffee was friendly.

I am sharing this because I had multiple unpleasant experiences at this place. Overpriced restaurant. I wouldn't comment on their mains but the coffee had a strong pungent taste (a similar taste you get when the filter is not changed or the machine / puck needs a clean). Tiramisu could have been better (or at least I have had better, locally), Ham and cheese croissant was smashed flat, dead flat! And I was charged $9.90 for that. It could be the way they choose to serve but why would someone serve a flat grilled croissant!? Lastly, I did not get a warm welcoming feeling at the restaurant. It could be just how my family and I felt, but I am definitely not visiting again.

This is a large friendly family eatery, with a large choice of menu items. Food was hot, and tasty with a very tasty dressing on the more than greens salad. Photos show the tuna sensation which was enjoyed by my father who has some allergies, the tempura prawns were huge. This was an entree meal for my mother, and the beef bagel with salad. Lemon lime and bitters, and lunch was done. A favourite of my parents.

I’m writing a review for my ma. My ma and her 2 girlfriends went to Dendy Deli for Lunch on the 2nd. It was one of her friends birthday and their experience was not good. The waitress was rude and abrupt. The table wasn’t clean and when the waitress came over to clean the table she didn’t even clean the dirty spots. And a worker started using a leaf blower inside a couple of feet away from our table. Which was very noisy and disruptive while eating. The food was fine 3/5. But wouldn’t return because of the terrible service 0/5. Total 1.5/5

Great food and ambiance! The servers were the highlight though. After a movie premier, with no warning to roster more staff for the night, they had two main waiters, Luke and Luis, working who ran around to every table for over an hour and a half and continued when we left. They were efficient, considerate, and cheery, even under immense pressure. Highly recommend and would come again.

Also went with 9 friends on Wednesday night. They kept the kitchen open for us, for hot food and coffees, teas, hot chocolate and so on. Since the weather was absolutely freezing, this was very welcoming 👍Thanks to staff and especially the proprietor. Merrowyn Deacon. 😇

Have been here before. Nearly didn't go because of bad reviews. I found the food lovely. Staff were very helpful & friendly just as I had remembered from a couple of years ago. Thank you

The lemon tart was great, I had it with ice cream instead of crem for a change and I thought it went pretty well together. I also had a magic coffe, basicly a straight black with a bit of froth was difrent. (I am still getting use to drinking coffe black)

Delicious food! Great prices and big servings. Had to wait a bit to get staff to take plates but overall happy with the service.

So disappointed. Been going here for 30+yrs and clearly it’s changed ownership recently. Nachos was a mass of chips with cold congealing cheese in the centre accompanied by three small pots that had spent a long time in the fridge containing solidified cream cheese, discoloured, solid avocado and some kind of tomato paste. Chips of ice in a flat coke with a hint of bourbon tasted watery. Chicken Parma plonked on a plate with a tiny bowl of chips on the side. No veg, salad or garnish. Very unappetising. Milkshake very average. Presentation is everything. You eat with your eyes first. Get an actual chef. Prices haven’t changed but the quality has really gone downhill. Locals want you to succeed. Please put in some effort. The service staff were nice, the food is letting you down.

Very rude and unhelpful- sandwich was dry and salad was not fresh, other food is average at best. Decor very dated. Queried an issue with the receipt as was charged wrong amount and was told I couldn't email them but had to return to the store to show them the discripency otherwise they would not bother to look at it. I do not live in Victoria so cannot do that. Manager was exceptionally rude.
