Maniax was really fun! Was a great Hen's Party ♡ Shout out to Mel who was a great and funny instructor, was a real pleasure to be with! Throwing was tricky until we got the right technique, but a really great experience, definitely recommend doing it! I'll be going again♡ Don't get discouraged if you don't land an axe on the board, just relax and it'll surprise you ;)

thanks team for a fun date night out with my partner, we tried something new and although I was more nervous than him, I landed a couple on the board during our 2 hour session so yay! of course he's far better than me, landing a 'clutch' more times than once!! big credit to Beth for the engaging safety briefing and welcoming host vibes, we will be back :)

This was a super experience! The gentleman (Jay/Jed?) was super friendly and helpful and took his time to check in and correct peoples throwing techniques. The place itself has a great feel and vibe to it! I attended a session on a late Sunday afternoon which was quieter, and worked out well. You do tend to get a litttttle over it about 45 minutes in (and your arm starts to feel it). Would be great if there was a moving target to change things up. I also feel it’s priced okay for the length provided.

Sam was a legend and taught my brother and I some solid tricks. Very fun and generous!

We went as part of a 2 couple mixed group and had a blast. Heads-up, there aren’t separate men and women toilets so we were warned that, because most of the people are men, they sometimes forget women throw axes too! Just bear it in mind if you need the loo. We had 2 lanes between the 4 of us and, being beginners, just focused on getting the axes to stick, though sounds like there are upgraded targets/games for more experienced people. There are 3 axes per lane, and we were recommended to use the most curved one (more chance of getting it to stick), but I don’t have tonnes of upper body strength so ended up happiest with the smallest one (also the smallest curve, so yes, I won at the hardest axe - result!) The other thing that surprised us was the fact that they’re dog friendly! We called up to check and brought our dog along, which he was fine with but in retrospect he was waiting for an hour in a very loud environment. We weren’t worried for his safety, but if you’re in a similar situation, the music isn’t quiet and people get a bit lairy. All good fun but would think twice about taking your pup.

Certainly a very different experience, a bit daunting to start with but so much fun once we had our first throw. A great vibe to the place and the staff member who guided us through the safety briefing etc was great. Would definitely go back again and highly recommend to friends.

So so good. Couldn’t fault anything. We were the only ones there and the staff member kept checking up on us to make sure we were ok! Or if we needed any help. Safe area to throw. Even had a quick lesson. So much fun.

We had a great time and, despite feeling like we could have kept throwing for hours, the session length is good for casual throwers like us who will feel it the next day 😂 One thing that would have improved our experience is a bit more throwing guidance towards the start as the tips we received later on would have been even more useful at the start for maximum time to work on technique. That being said, I appreciate it's tricky to do with multiple people starting at the same time and only one 'axe-pert' in the venue that day. I personally also find the music to be a bit too loud as someone with sensory processing challenges and ADHD (trying to listen to the safety talk whilst also filtering out music took a lot of my energy). If you're a similar sensitive soul, I recommend bringing earplugs to soften both that and the literal (sonic) blows of the axes clattering on the ground.

Went and booked in 2 for a quick chuck as I’ve wanted to try ace throwing for a while. Amazing venue but only 1 staff member on. I thought we would get a bit more help with throwing technique and support to learn the tricks of the trade. We had a 3 min safety instruction in a group where the staff member threw one axe then were left by ourselves for the next hour.

We had so much fun, we got the private session with Heather for 6 people. She stayed with us for 2 hours and She was amazing, Heather was encouraging and kept the vibe really fun! We played a tournament and that got very competitive! Highly recommended for a group outing and Heather for your private session :)

Maddie was a great instructor & had lots of games & made the session super chill & fun (when half our group couldn't attend due to covid 🤦). Would highly recommend for a birthday, hens, bucks or just fun activity. Suits all fitness levels 🪓

Out of the ordinary, awesome and super fun! Came here for a date with my wife and what a blast of a time we had. Really fun learning how to throw an axe and quite tiring at the end but quite satisfying. The staff were very friendly and professional and dam they make it look easy to throw an axe. Would definitely come back to try in a bigger group.

Our James was terrific to start with. Attentive, organised and enthusiastic. His instructions were clear and demonstrations left you feeling confident. The throwing area was safe and isolated. We loved the throwing of different axes and the different competitions you could play. Such a different and fun activity.

Great night - super good setup. Thanks Brandon! Updated review - 4 years on and this is still great fun and really well run. Super instruction from James meant we were each sticking our throws in no time.

Had a great time at Maniax Axe Throwing. Chosen because they cater for under 18’s. Great venue, staff are friendly and very helpful. Having the choice of 3 axe sizes to try was amazing & means you can find what’s right for you leading to successful throws! We’ll go back for sure. Highly recommend

Axe throwing was very fun. The venue is nice too, easy to get a park, which was awesome. If you’re looking for something to do definitely try axe throwing, you don’t have to be incredibly strong or anything, either that axes are not too heavy.

Fabulous place and experience! Absolutely recommend if you have anger to let out or just want to throw some axes like a Viking Queen. The manager is a fantastic person, really nice and fun to talk to, and gave us a great rundown of how to throw the different sized axes appropriately and safely. Didn't even get mad when I almost broke the sign. Absolute legend and will be back!

Awesome venue. We attended the Monday 2 for 1 at Abbotsford. The staff was super friendly and informative. We had a group of 8 and everyone had an amazing time. It's a great venue for those new to Axe Throwing and for those with some experience. :)

Bought my Husband a voucher for his birthday a couple of years ago. We finally used it yesterday. We both had the best time! Our axpert Maddy was great. All the staff were so friendly. We will be going back with friends!

Went there yesterday for my 30th 2.0 (didn’t get to celebrate last year) and it was the best experience and fun I’ve had in a long long time! The staff were fantastic and welcoming, just overall an amazing experience. We will be back soon!

Visited Maniax Abbotsford for our end of year celebration. The team had an awesome time. Special shout out to James who provided excellent customer service and was our 'hype' man for the day. Would absolutely recommend.

Such fun! Didn't realise you needed to do a briefing before starting and all booking at the same time start at the same time so did run a little behind schedule but still was fun. The larger groups looks like they had heaps of fun too. Would recommend

We booked a date night option on a weeknight and there were only 3 other couples the whole night. We’re paired with one couple so we had a lot of axe throwing chances among us 4. My partner booked this and I wondered how much fun can throwing axe be and I thought I’d hate being thrown into a tournament with another couple but our host, Mel, made it fun! We changed partners a few times throughout the night, playing different type of axe throwing games, trying different type of axes and learning how to throw better. It does take time between throws in a double lane so that both throwers can retrieve their axes at the same time (safety!) and taking turns, those not throwing must be behind the bench and no throwing if the host has to temporarily leave the lanes. A drink at the end was a good finish, great fun!

Very fun experience. Maddy walked us through the safety stuff and we went straight into throwing. Good atmosphere and space. Much better than the one in south melb where everyone has to throw and stop at the same time like a kindergarten. Maddy also gave really good advice on how to throw better. Maddy rocks 🤟🏻 give her a raise 😜

We had the best time at Maniax for a friends birthday. Heather was a brilliant axe-pert who showed us the ropes and had us throwing like pros in no time. The atmosphere is brilliant and very safe. This was an awesome way to catch up with friends, have a friendly competition and learn a new skill. Highly recommend!
