    “It’s easier than ever to do it online” << not quite yet. I couldn’t pay for registration transfer online and had to come to here. When seller transfer rego to my name I got notification, accepted it & upload rwc and when it come to paying the system says it’s all good an no payment is needed. 2 days later i got another notification saying i should pay otherwise registration will be suspended. I can’t see any option to do that step online in my vicroad account. It seems to be only done in branch or mail. I should get reimbursed for this inconvenience. However, good experience here. My concern is online. In response to your reply: I’ve contacted the number mentioned and was connected straight away but it looked as i was in wrong department so i was transferred to other department with waiting time 22 min. My suggestion is to offer call back. In regards to message us form, i did 3 times with no luck. Check my last one 502515531 my suggestion here is to make messaging more convenient so i can just reply to email instead of filling the form over & over again. Good IT guy is needed here to fix those technical issues. Thanks

    Only taking online bookings. No walk-ins. I had a booking AND another simple task. I was told to just do it next time I was here. That was today. But that was not the case today. Covid-19 has changed everything. Bring extra patience. Don't expect anything more than what you booked online. Hopefully things will get to normal in the next year or so.... Taking walk-ins now. No QR code to scan in to enter. I received quick service today. I think earlier in the day is less busy. (Just a hunch based on my experiences )

    Vicious psychopaths. Needed easy transfer transaction, went in, place was almost completely empty, but the guy insisted that “I had to book an appointment”. The first one was in six weeks... He said this is because “it will take up to 10 minutes to process”. Again, the place was almost empty he could of easily just done it. I had all the documents and completed forms everything needed right there. But instead he took 10 minutes to explain why he can’t spend 10 minutes to do the transaction, and I “must” book for 6 weeks later. I drove all the way in for nothing, to sit in an empty waiting room, to be served immediately, only to be lied to “oh no we don’t possibly have the time to do our jobs, come back in over a month”. Absolute joke. Total psychopaths.

    I love everything about this branch. Starting from the staff meeting me at the front entrance - very nice and friendly. I had my driving test here and it was top notch experience. My officer was August. He was super friendly and did everything for stress free experience. Good jokes, nice attitude, simple and clear instructions. Carlton area might be complicated for drive test due to multiple road signs, tram lines, busy traffic. However, I totally liked my drive test here. Highly recommend this branch, very professional and friendly team.

    Nervous as hell for the driving test but I was welcomed by exceptional customer service which made a lot of difference. My test supervisor was Jess and can’t thank him enough for making me feel very comfortable and settle down my nerves !! He was not only accommodative but also exceptional in customer service. Best I could ask for on such a pensive day. Thank you team :)

    I had an appointment at VicRoads Carlton and was held up as there was an accident so I was late by 15 minutes. It’s not my fault Melbourne roads are atrocious and cause so many accidents. Disappointing that I now have to make another booking and pay the fee again. Well done VicRoads…

    Everyone was nice there, but Phoenix was extraordinary helpful and friendly, when the other guy can’t help me to merge my learner test results into my other account. Phoenix did it for me and save lots of time for me. She solved several issues on my account. She’s really genuine to help and try to solve everything while I’m there, and I really appreciate it. As a person work in retail and customer service myself, i can say that she’s such an asset to the company. Her service was exceptional.

    Pain in the backside. Tried to schedule an appointment to get my licence switched over from SA. Had to book six weeks in advance due to a "high demand" for appointments (read low staffing). When it turned out I couldn't make my appointment for work reasons, I was told I'd have to pay a $20 fee to rearrange. When I turned up for that one, I had to wait 45 minutes before being served. By comparison, for the exact same process in SA, I simply turned up and was out of there in half an hour. They just need to employ more staff.

    I just did my driving test today with Jess. His instructions were very clear and he repeated his instructions when necessary. He was kind and understanding for my anxiety and could tell I would be a safe driver in normal situations. Over all I am very happy for my driving test and Jess today.

    I went there today to transfer my registration from Queensland to Victoria.. I was well prepared with all the paperwork required, but somehow the workshop that did the road worthy didn't fill out the form properly and there were some issues to clarify.. it all took a little while, but I must say that I found the service fantastic.. the lady with the black hair at counter 18 was incredible helpful and figured everything out for me and even got my license transferred too, even though that was not planned for today.. she was friendly and understanding and I am highly surprised about this experience... I think this lady should get a promotion for her beautiful way to handle customers and for all the effort she put in to help to fix this... her supervisor was great as well... such a positive vibe from this ladies and a very professional work attitude.. thank you sooo much!

    I had my driving test at Vicroads Carlton. I was very nervous before my test as I hold an overseas driver's license and if I fail my test I am not able to drive in Australia and driving in Australia is important to me as my work depends on my car. I am driving in Australia for 2 years and know all the rules and regulations but still, I had some hesitation because it's a test. Moreover, all my friends who have taken the test were saying that it is tough which made me more scared about the test but my instructor, Bhavik was very calm, friendly and knowledgeable which made me more comfortable to drive. He was able to clear all my doubts and gave me clear instructions which made my drive test simple and I was able to pass my test. I would like to thank Vicroads Carlton, who hired such talented people in their team and also I would like to thank Bhavik for taking my test because of him, I have my driver's license.

    Very untrained staff sitting upstairs. Specially an African guy very rude. It’s ok If u don’t know something, but u can always apologise for misleading the customers and ask someone who is senior how to do something.

    Had an appointment booked in for 11:55am today and was late 20min due to attending the wrong Vic roads, Staff customer service was terrible until it took one staff which changed my whole opinion, her name was Lina and as soon as she seen that i was confused and was in need of assistance although she was busy herself on the counter she managed to help me and was very understanding of what had happened to me and took it into consideration. She seemed very calm and not rushed as u can imagine that place does get busy but she responded to the issue the same way a team leader or manager would. she also was disappointed at the fact when I was 20min late that nobody was helping or assiting at first hand when attending the wrong Vic roads at bankmedows if I'm correct as I am from New Zealand and new to Melbourne.

    I am always amazed by people who have zero customer service skills yet decide to work in a customer facing job. Team Leader Anthony from the Carlton office embodied that perfectly today. The experience we had with him was disappointing and his attitude was one of complete disrespect and abruptness. Thank God Vicroads had other competent Team Leaders who can assist by simply explaining the rules in a respectful manner. Thank you Jenny!

    I had my driving test at VicRoads Driving Test in Carlton. The assessor was so nice and gave me clear instructions to follow. The test started on time and went smoothly, and they were so quick in finishing paperwork. It was incredible! The staff were all friendly and they were there to help me with questions.

    Completely hopeless. Found out my car was not registered because last year VicRoads only emailed renewals which got caught up in my spam filters. Re-Registration by appointment only. 1-2 months wait. Then I turn up to register by appointment to be told that I didn't actually need the said inspection, but that in any case I had missed the time available since so they were unable to take my payment nor re-register my vehicle. Next available appointment time 2 months time. In echuca. 3 hours drive in each direction. Great customer service!

    You need to book an appt and pay a $20 fee for anything you need to do here and appts take months to book in... $60 fee and three appts for a couple to transfer their car and licences from interstate and then there is the actual licence and registration fees :S QLD and NSW systems are looking pretty good in comparison.

    Just had a terrible test, someone told me I "passed a give away sign too quickly" while I was actually passing it at 20 km/h, and ensured nothing is there. Also, I was told wrong mirror checking while I actually looked at my mirror anytime I turn, so I don't know what they are thinking about. And also I was told my driving does not make them comfortable... what the hale to do with comfortable & test? Especially in Carlton where you encounter poorly designed roads and sudden traffics... Never gona do driving test there again.

    Inquired in regards to number plates being able to be cashed in (was involved in an accident and I wasn't at fault) guy Shane I was talking to, was not helpful whatsoever. Talking to me as if im dumb (im young and never been in an accident and this is all new to me). After being on hold for over 25 minutes I'm still unsure of what to do!

    Had a bit of a rough time here trying to book an appointment for my mom. Natalie M got my mom’s name wrong, which caused a whole mix-up. She wasn’t nice about it either and ended up throwing my mom’s passport away. Definitely think there’s room for improvement in how they handle stuff and talk to customers.

    I had my driving test here today & my examiner was Bharvik. He was very nice and explained everything clearly, reassuring me the test wasn’t as scary as I was thinking! It made me feel more relaxed and comfortable during the test which contributed to my passing the test.     Served by Lulu today, she was very rude and wasn’t trying to help at all, she could’ve offered some alternative solutions instead of saying “this cannot be done today”. However when I sorted out the problem and staff Jean was very helpful.

    Recently, I obtained my learner's permit from Carlton customer service centre, and when I requested a logbook to record my driving hours, they refused, citing that I'll be turning 21 in 8 months. However, I believe I have a legal right to receive the logbook. Additionally, the customer service was notably rude, speaking to me as if I didn't understand English, which was offensive. I was also in a time-sensitive situation to purchase a car.

    Surprisingly had a really great experience here with getting my interstate rego sorted out. The guy who served me was really polite and reassuring. Very much enjoyed our joke about Aldi best buy "Maxdas". I had an awful experience trying to get my rego sorted in NSW, but I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of beurocratic hoops to jump through in Victoria. Definitely makes up for the 8 hours of pain and hundreds of dollars I had to go through in NSW. No system errors in Victoria and any issues were fixed on site without fuss. Thanks for making this nervewracking process so much easier!

    I had my driving test here on 14th Feb 2020. People will scare you about driving test is too strict and tester would fail you even if you made very small error. But these things are not true. Key to pass the test is stick to the basic rules of driving, follow the instructions and road rules. I got a tester named Bhavik, who made me feel at ease with his manner, and his instructions were clear. I enjoyed the way he conducted the test and when we finished the test, he was describing me some basic things need to keep in mind while driving which I think will be very handy and helpful throughout my driving period. Thank you for making a life test I had been putting off for a long time an enjoyable one! I will recommend this test centre to friends in the future.

    I went in to renew my license and get a new photo taken. It was super busy. I was given a ticket and directed upstairs. As I walked up the ticket number before mine was called, and mine was called not long after. I think I was in and out in 10 minutes. It was the best experience I've ever had with VicRoads. Completely amazing.

    Congratulations VicRoads Carlton for poor customer service once again. Instead of assisting the client to try to get them an appointment for the hazard perception so they don't miss their drive test appointment date because they failed there test. The response from the VicRoads customer service person was " I can't do nothing for you you're going to have to wait until April" Instead of instructing the client that they can go to another VicRoads Centre. While she's pointing at the screen so proudly. It's too bad management at this location doesn't take things seriously enough. My advice is avoid this customer service centre untill they actually get proper management in place.

    Jess was my assessor for my VicRoads Driving Test in Carlton. He was incredible! Instantly calmed my nerves when I first met with him to get the paperwork done and once in the car gave the most clear, succinct and easy to follow instructions. Such a nice person, with warm and caring energy. I had heard some horror stories with driving assessors at Vic Roads from friends but he was so kind and thorough.     I went for a test yesterday at 11:25am with a young Indian examinator who as I remembered his name is Jid. Everything was good and very straight forward since he is quite understandable and friendly by giving me all the crucial instruction before the test and making me feel comfortable. However, after I finished my session 1 and moved to session 2 , He asked me to pull over and instantly terminated my test. His given reason was speeding more than 5s. And for the god sake, I didn’t do that. Luckily my instructor was there for me and saved my test. The examinator insisted that street I was driving has limit 50km/h. However, my instructor with his experience noticed that it wasn’t true, that street indicates 60km/h limit. So we decided to drive back and double check again after my examinator failed to prove that he was right. Turn out, that street has 60km/h limit. Eventhough he did say sorry to me but I was shocked and that termination already ruined my mood. Luckily I was able to finish the test and successfully got my license. But put everything in consideration, I would blame Vicroad for not providing proper training to the staff. He obviously did not qualify to become examinator to be honest. What if I could not make it through because of that accident. It is unfair. Hope Vicroad takes this to their consideration.

    this is probably the third time i've had to talk to vic roads and it's been terrible as i still don't have an answer. i've called up 3 times and spoken to 2 different departments about the regulation surrounding the use of my own car for a license test, the listings on the website do not clarify what my question is and after being handed around between multiple people over the phone none of them could give me an answer better than "you'll find out on the day", which is beyond a joke. before clarifying my request the lady on the phone also took the money out of my account to book the test, so now i have a test booked but no one i've dealt with so far can actually answer my (simple) question about the use of my car for the test

    Jess was my test assessor for my overseas license conversion road test. The very first interaction he made sure to calm my nerves and explained the process so very well.     I passed my drive test at Carlton today and was very lucky to have Jess as my drive test examiner. His instruction was very clear. He was also very calm and professional. Such a pleasant experience in the drive test today. Really wish VicRoads can have more examiners like Jess.

    Just got my license from Carlton. Such nice inspector I got. Started my test anxiously with a honk from the car behind me. But he was cool and gentle. Just calmed me down. After the test he gave me feedback for improving the driving and gave the license. What a day. Live Carlton vic

    I got laters saying my car was unregistered so went to vicroad and show them the paper the lady on desk 8 on 19/06/2023 asked me to pay for rego. Though I said I got this car new. And received this later she stated that I should pay for rego. I did and after again received an other one she even didnt knew that the later was for transfere fee. Due to which I received big amount of fine. Hope after the people sitting in front desk should have enough information and pay attentions thanks .

    Wish I could register no star. Have tried to ring through x3 this afternoon. Each time after a long period the phone has gone dead. I am as busy as you are and this is not what I call service. Please employ more staff.

    Initially, I assumed that the overall working environment might be a factor influencing Lily's attitude. However, after three subsequent visits to Vic Roads carlton, I was pleasantly surprised to encounter exceptionally friendly and patient staff members during those visits. This stark contrast compelled me to address the inequality in the treatment I received from Lily. During my interaction with Lily, I found her demeanor to be extremely impatient and dismissive. Her lack of courtesy and unwillingness to assist left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. It is crucial to emphasize that I have been more than satisfied with the level of service provided by other Vic Roads employees on my subsequent visits.
