My friends and I come here so often because of how amazing the experience and staff are! We smashed out three escape rooms, all so much fun and awesomely designed! Laura and Jack made the experience so incredible and truly went above and beyond for us! The cocktails are delicious and the vibe is perfect! Would so so so recommend to anyone!

I have played many escape rooms and this is one of the best I have experienced! 👍 We came early to have drinks at the bar before playing Wayward wizard. There were even bonus puzzles to challenge more experienced players who manage to finish the game early. Jack and team were all really friendly and awesome! Definitely 6/5 ⭐️s for customer service. Great Ambience which enhanced the whole experience!

Our first escape room in Melbourne 6 years ago, and here we are again last week. Both times have been great experiences. We did the return of the Alice in wonderland escape room and this was by far one of the hardest ones we’ve ever been in. We unfortunately did not complete it within the allocated 50 minutes but still had fun. I also asked the staff there if I could see the final area and they happily showed it to me and explained the next steps. Great staff and wonderful experience. Will definitely return the next time we go to Melbourne!

I tried the carnival-themed escape room here during a recent visit to Melbourne. The build quality of the room and the puzzles were lower than what I'm used to, having recently completed a number of Canberra's escape rooms. However, I liked that the room had a number of optional higher-difficulty bonus puzzles to do once the room was completed.

We came to this establishment for a weekend getaway and the service absolutely blew us away. The staff we had (Oceania) were so lovely and patient when we were in our first room making sure to explain the backstory thoroughly and letting us know if we needed help to press the blue button and that you don’t get penalised for it throughout the session. Although we didn’t finish it in time, they made us feel very welcomed and reassured. We loved the experience so much we came back the next two days doing a total of 4 rooms all together. Although we did experience some technical difficulties with the room Mutiny (with the walkie talkies not working) and Wonderland (with the key combination not working) the staff gave us extra time to make up for this and even came inside the room to try and fix the issue. I cannot thank you all enough for making our experience at Trapt one of the best encounters with escape rooms we’ve had and will definitely come back again soon when there are new rooms for us to try!

Really good one, we did the wayward wizard room and there was an enormous amount of puzzles that required creative solutions. The story was captivating and the room was styled nicely. It was a very immersive experience. Some of the puzzles solutions were a little obtuse but for the most part, they made sense and flowed nicely. There's some pretty nice use of technology to enhance the puzzles and make them creative and aesthetically pleasing. They also did this really cool thing where there are bonus puzzles to solve if you have enough time once you've accomplished the main goal. I always really like when rooms do this as you feel like you're getting value for money and also feel a sense of accomplishment for completing the main objective. The staff were friendly and it's cool that they have themed cocktails to match the rooms.

I love this place!! Played Cave In for a friend’s bachelor party yesterday and had so much fun we came back today for Mutiny! Connor was so lovely and really made the whole experience so welcoming and accessible for us. 10/10 this is definitely a new Melbourne favourite!

It was a great experience the bar looked amazing but for $50 dollars per person with a 50 minute timer it was a bit expensive. As well as this some of the clues were a bit misleading and not planned well. In future I would love to go back if the time limit was extended and certain clues were fixed up. Would recommend though.

The short version - Best overall escape room venue experience I have ever had. The extended version - My friend and I spontaneously booked an escape room here while visiting from Sydney and the whole experience was an absolute treat. I've done many escape rooms in the past and the one we did here was right up there with the best. Creative ideas, challenging puzzles, fun theme - overall a well balanced and very enjoyable room. The bonus puzzles are great as you really get every bit of value out of your time and the experience. While the escape room is why we came, the atmosphere, drinks and friendliness of the staff is what made us stay hours longer. The bar menu is fantastic (and also appropriately themed to the rooms!), the drinks are delicious and the space has a very cool vibe. Jack is a legend and went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay, even preparing tailor-made drinks and providing suggestions for other places to go in Melbourne. Maddie took great care of us too. I will definitely be visiting TRAPT in my future Melbourne visits and I highly recommend this place to everyone. Thanks for having us!

Wizard of Oz Room was fun, good variety, and good for a larger group (8). But disappointed at the end when we got to a puzzle that "wasn't implemented yet" which meant we didn't finish in time, as well as making the end anti-climatic. Though a nice bar and themed drinks.

So much fun! - the room was amazing and a great experience! Only big disappointment was the host... We were told we had 10 minutes by one person to finish our drinks, bathroom, put our stuff away and then our host came and made us smash our drinks down, then told us we didn't have time to leave our belongings behind and stuffed it in a draw somewhere. Mumbled and lacked all enthusiasm in the room build up. Didn't answer his walki talki when we needed a clue and when he did, mumbled again. Seemed like the staff wanted to escape more than we did ?

My sister and I absolutely love escape rooms and do them all the time, today we tried the Caved In room, we were not expecting to be greeted with darkness, which I did not appreciate as I can’t process properly when I can’t see what I’m touching. Another problem we came across, was the riddles, usually we enjoy a good riddle, however a big hurdle you had to cross was enduring a math problem, although this wouldn’t be a problem for the average person, I have a learning disability, meaning that the moment I encountered a problem that involved math, it ruined my whole experience and I just wanted to get out, as I felt like I was back into year 8 maths class. Other than that, the staff were lovely, the experience as a whole was quite enjoyable. And I would definitely come back with my sister, if there was less math :)))

We had such a blast at Trapt with our crew of escape artists. We had drinks before and after at the bar and were able to sit in the spacious seating area as we filled out waivers and prepared for the room. The room itself was pretty cool and complex, we split into two teams and played against each other with five in each room. It was the Harry Potter themed room and we ended up getting through it with no help, with both teams coming out victorious at the end. Certainly a great starter room with the ability for more puzzles should you want to continue to push yourself following your escape and learn more. The staff were wonderful and so welcoming. It felt very chill for a Friday night and everyone on the staff was in such good spirits. We had a blast with them as much as in the room itself. Would love to go back and try other rooms, and recommend it for parties, with its late opening time and bar for everyone to enjoy.

Did the Alice room, it was very interesting with the way the puzzles are designed. It was hard but enjoyable. The bar/lounge area was also very cozy and atmospheric. Forgot who served us, but he was bald and had an awesome beard. That guy was super friendly great service from him. Good times were had, will come back

Fantastic spot for an escape room experience! The cocktail was delicious, and the room setting was good, though it could be improved with clearer instructions. We weren't aware that we'd have to return to the previous room to solve the puzzle. Despite that, we had a great time overall!

Wonderful experience. The staff are all so accommodating and friendly. We were allowed to go over time and finish our room as we started late and there was not a booking after us. Micheal was so professional and calm when faced with an aggressive customer as we were leaving. 10/10 will definitely come back to do the other rooms.

Great venue! Escape rooms are really fun, and you get cute badges if you complete the room in the allotted time. There are also bonus adventures within the room if you finish it before 50mins, and when there was an error with the room, Laura was very sporting and gave us our badge as we had collectively decided we would've finished the room had it not glitched on us. Overall would recommend, great vibes, and very hospitable.

Have been here twice now. The first time I couldn't fault the experience, however, the second time wasn't the same. Booked here for my family after having a great first experience. We were a large group and the room was actually very spacious. However, there were a lot of little things that made this time less enjoyable. Firstly, the room TV wasn't working, understandable not their fault and they were trying to fix it. They had an alternative way to get clues however this was slow and took some time. Secondly the room malfunctioned and we were able to skip a bunchh of clues and escape very quickly. The worker came to reset the room, however out clock was still runnin and took up a decent amount of time. Next, the room malfunctioned again and we were left searching for clues for 15 minutes before an employee came to tell us and helped us out. Once realizing the mechanism wasn't working correctly they just told us what we would have done and unlocked a bunch of clues for us and then we escaped. Which was disappointing for us. Unfortunately, we didn't really get to complete the whole room and we're just let out which is disappointing as it fairly pricey per person.

A great escape room. With friendly and great staff. Easy to book and a challenging to get the room done in time then a bar to get some drinks after you win or fail. No matter would be a great time and shall return to have a go at another rol.

Was my first time visiting Trapt for escape rooms. There staff were both friendly and professional. They have quite an eclectic drinks menu all themed to the escape rooms which they have running. They were all quite tasty despite us ordering by name, not what was actually in the drinks.

Terrible experience, over-priced. Staff not polite and welcoming. We booked in for an easy escape room doing it with children as it was advertised as an easy level. Would not recommend, go to another escape room service in Melbourne.

Awesome bar experience, but the escape rooms are even better! Staff are really friendly, don't overlook the details of the rooms. We did the Cave-In room (easiest). It's still quite challenging and very enjoyable. The bonus puzzles are really good to try and do in the time limit.

We had a great experience at TRAPT the other night! We came for an escape room with an 8pm booking and were welcomed by a warm and friendly staff. We did the Cave In escape room and had an absolute blast. The puzzles weren’t too difficult, but equally weren’t too easy, it was the perfect room for people like us who were relatively new to the escape room scene. 5/5 highly recommend this spot for a great experience with friends.

We did the ‘SPACE’ escape room and it was amazing. Challenging but very satisfying! Would highly recommend. Also, shout out to Micheal who was a lovely guide and just super friendly and helpful. He even let us go overtime because we were so close to finishing the room. I’ll definitely be going back again!

My first escape room experience and it was excellent. It was a group of four of us, we had so much fun. If you are looking for a little bit of a challenge while having a great time, TRAPT is the spot. Rory and Connor were fantastic hosts and guides.

We went today to "The Wayward Wizard" and "Under the Big Top" as a team bonding activity and had so much fun! Our game master was awesome and we enjoyed the puzzles and the props and immersive atmosphere in the rooms. I loved that you also get some bonus puzzles after you manage to escape - if you are fast enough to finish with extra time.

  • 5/5 Lyndal W. 1 year ago on Google
We absolutely loved our time at TRAPT. We were looked after so well by Maddy and Michael. They ensured we had the absolute best time. Even though we were able to escape our room (The Big Top) we didn't get to complete our "side quests" and they allowed us to re-visit them (given that there was time) and understand the story a little more. We were made to feel so welcome! If you're ever in Melbourne and looking for an escape room experience, absolutely check these guys out and just hope that you get Maddy and Michael too!

This place was so cool! We did the wizard room and it was challenging yet fun. The guy who gave us our story was really fun and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this company as it really felt like this is something they love to do. So much care went into the escape room itself. We will be going back :)

We did the circus themed room today. We had fun but there was a whole heap of 'bonus' puzzles that we didn't get to complete in the allotted time which left a bit of a feeling of failure, even though we had 'escaped the room'. These puzzles distracted us from the main objective which was very confusing. I would suggest incorporating these puzzles into the escape room main objective or leaving them out entirely. I felt staff were not watching us very closely (we understand the bar area was very busy) and we didn't get any hints sent through to us. We did press the call button and it took the staff member a little bit to work out where we were in the escape room to push us in the right direction (which is how we learnt about the 'bonus puzzles'). The puzzles were reasonably tricky which was a good thing for our group.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Chloe was amazing!!! She guided us through all the clues when we asked for them and made us have an unforgettable experience! Her hospitality for our group was above and beyond!!! I would 10/10 come back to trapt!!

  • 3/5 James R. 1 year ago on Google
Great escape room and challenging puzzles. Frustrated that we had to waste precious time in the game, trying to find a hard hat with a light that had fully charged batteries as the escape room was dark and our headlamps were the only source of light. (went through 3 different head lamps). This really put a dampener on the experience. 😔 Something simple but it had a big impact as in the end we were so close to making it out but with the wanted time, we ran out of time.

I have been to Trapt 3 times over the last 6 months, with different groups of friends. Always a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. You can buy drinks at the bar and there are fun board games to play after. My first escape room here was "Wayward Wizard"- certainly the newest and I felt the best. Great details in rooms and a good mix of puzzles - we completed the escape and also solved some of the bonus puzzles ( which we didn't know weren't part of the main game until end) This room certainly caters for a range of abilities and we liked that when you solved it....you could keep working on the bonus til time ran out) One puzzle was broken and one needed battery replacement - but we were given an extra 10 mins time. The 2 Nd room I did was "Wizard of Oz". I had been wanting to do this room for years- BUT it felt old and worn and the decor was not as polished, certainly lacking the charm and atmosphere of my previous room. Was still fun and challenging to solve the puzzles, we just got out!! The third room was "Space". It was ok, more mathematical problem solving and lots of red herrings in the room. We got close to escaping, but this one beat us! Overall, I have had fun at Trapt- and it was the beginning of a love of escape rooms for 2 of my friends who had never done an escape room before Wayward Wizard.

We came here for Father’s Day for something different. The room was fun for 4 people who had only ever done one other room. But we stayed here for hours for the cocktails alone. Some of the best in Melbourne, great staff too

Cannot overstate how amazing an experience we had here. Myself and my partner are pretty big into escape rooms and decided to do several of their rooms while on vacation from NZ. Had the most fun ever, the rooms are super immersive and high quality, with super challenging and interesting puzzles. To date, the best rooms we’ve done. Loved every second of it! Also - the staff are so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, made the experience just that much better. Recommend to all!!

Attempted the space themed escape room and my partner and I were definitely put to the test! This room also has a part two if you manage to escape the already intensely difficult first part. Really enjoyed that this escape room was more techy than others I have attempted. The bar has some really cool themed cocktails as well as some classic board games to keep you entertained and fire up the brain while you're waiting. The staff are also really friendly and willing to assist if/when required.

Staff were very friendly and got into the experience with each escape room. Being able to have a cocktail whilst waiting for your booking or after completing an escape room was great. The setting is very nice with comfy lounges to enjoy the experience. We completed the Alchemy escape room and it was pretty well put together. Couple of areas that could do with a little upkeep but this is probably expected with regular use by the public.

Did the Wizard of Oz. Mentally challenging and fun but appears cheap and is not immersive.

  • 5/5 Alex B. 4 years ago on Google
Recently did the Wizard of Oz room here, our group found it quite difficult even though we consider ourselves to be experienced escape room participants. This is a good thing though as we got far enough through it that we still felt satisfied by the experience. Cocktails beforehand were very tasty. We have completed 2 other rooms here at Trapt and all three have been great, you really can't go wrong here.

Amazing experience! A small group of us went for a friend’s birthday and did the Alchemy room. Our host was Jamie and she was fantastic. We were so impressed that we’re already planning our next escape room!!

We spent about 6.5 hours here doing all rooms and we had the best time! Hands down the best atmosphere and staff in an escape room we have experienced. The staff were beyond amazing. Jack, Rory, Violet, Jamie and Matt made this time so great! We also did the Halloween popup game. Perfect idea for the Halloween week, super unique! We will definitely return on our next trip to Melbourne.

We came on a Tuesday night (relatively quiet) and asked for the hardest room, and were given Espionage. Room setup was good, except props were a little dated. Clues we're good, not too hard but required problem solving. Service was friendly but we did have an issue with the walkie talkies so e didn't end up asking for clues except at the very end because the final clue "ran out of battery". Overall a good experience ideal for 4 players.

Lovely service, escape room was a bit underwhelming. Having clues that are sequential when there is 6 people in the room makes it a bit difficult when all 6 people are looking at the same clue.

This underground bar and experience has an awesome vibe and ambience as soon as you head down the stairs inside. The bar area is spacious and brining with ad hoc, antique furniture and ornaments. The bar itself is excellent, offering a wide array of cocktails and spirits served by enthusiastic bartenders. Out work Xmas party split into two groups doing different rooms. Ours took on the hardest of them, OZ. Very difficult! All I can say is, get your creative mind in gear and think outside the box. We were far too logical and were miles off. Also the pre drinks don't help ha-ha

It was quite disappointing i had gone in and paid $260 for 4 people for two rooms and in the space room and we had done the puzzle right but the cables were broken so we were stuck on it for 20 mins thats almost half our time gone they had to come in and manually unlock the box. We had also tried the alchemists room there was also something broken and we were stuck there for another 10 mins. The staff were polite but the rooms had no flow to them and need to be updated and repaired I had visited this place acouple years ago when they had the Alice in wonderland room and that was great it had good riddles and the room looked good Overall i think it was abit disappointing and hope they update soon

If you don't have a brain for solving puzzles, maybe it's not for you, as you need puzzle, sudoku, geometry and other maths type skills. BUT if you've got those, you'll love the challenge and this will spin your wheels

  • 4/5 Pradeep G. 4 years ago on Google
Fun family experience. Quite tricky puzzles. Limited timed adds to the anxiety. The puzzles appear very cryptic at the start but in hindsight are very logical. That is the fun because how one can mess up a simple clue through pressures of time. Tip is to enjoy the experience and not worry about the clock. Keep eyes wide open and no idea to solve puzzles is too strange. Don't discard any idea from anyone. We solved the puzzle and that was a great sense of achievement.

I had high hopes for this experience but was a little let down by the intro. My mum had never done a proper room before, only a child friend one, and had never seen a directional lock before. The room we did was excellent and very well thought out though the first clue took a while to get because there was something in the room we needed to use and it just wasn’t working properly. It didn’t help that the clue was faded and barely visible once we were finally able to read it. If I ever go here again I’m definitely going with a group of at least three or four. An extra pair of eyes would have definitely helped with compiling the room, though we got quite close.

YES YES YES! My friend and I walked in to see if we could get into any available escape room and the staff were so hospitable, friendly and funny. We had such a blast here I do recommend coming here with any of your mates who enjoy a good riddle or puzzle. the atmosphere is cosy, warm feeling, we came during the day so i cant comment on the night time atmosphere, but it seems like a great place to hang, day or night.

👍 Had the strike bowling a couple of weeks ago and had so much fun. The venue is in Melbourne Central Mall and was packed. Lots of families and kids are having fun. It got laser tag and other activities too. After 8pm no kids are allowed. Better to make bookings rather than walking in and so you won't...

😠 Used to go nearly have a bowl every Wednesday play mulitiple games and have a blast with a core group of friends. Then a change in specials and a drop in costumer service pushed me and my group of friends away. To add to it on a separate occasion Strike refused to honour a Tuesday special because th...

😠 We did the School of Magic and felt the entire experience fell flat. There was zero immersion and the storyline didn’t at all translate to our puzzles or made sense. Staff were not properly trained or simply didn’t care about how to create the atmosphere needed for an escape room. In fact, we were t...
