Apart from the pub's money grab, this day was a complete failure! To pay a $50 entry fee for AFL GF Day with 1x meal and 3x beers included you would at least expect your beer to be poured in a glass, not plastic. I am also following up further action in relation to my ticket, the conditions and what I allege is misleading. #poorform What pub serves beer in plastic?? 👎 However, if you buy a glass or wine or bottled beer then it will be in glass, makes sense. 😆 Understandable on NYE, but not one of Australia's biggest sporting event days and a chance to showcase your venue. Bar 20 people deep, 1 person serving. Seriously, who is this Publican?! #noidea 🤔 I ended up buying Pure Blonde bottles, it had a rusty taste, these had clearly sat out in the sun for a prolonged period of time or are out of date. This is what the beer tastes like on Christmas Island when they sit on the ship for a month during transport. #expublican I ordered 2 meals together. The lukewarm parma with dry chips & mushy salad (see picture, pictures don't lie)(sitting under the heat) came out within 3 minutes of ordering, burger came out 25 minutes later. #notfresh 👑 the worst pub to watch an AFL GF at in Melbourne due to average service, poor food quality, beers in plastic and running out of beers on tap. I could not be more critical of a venue. Reviewed by Sth Melbourne's #1 International Reviewer for TA and Google

OK meals and OK service. Nothing to write home about. Location is good but lacks a certain something that makes it stand out from the rest of the pubs in Melbourne...

Been waiting 1/2 for an entree. Said they would get the manager to refund my meal since it’s been so long, and now I have to head off to my next venue. Manager never turned up. I left with no food. I just paid for nothing. Go here if you you want terrible service. Response to owners comment: Given the unbelievably terrible service and the non committal response from management on Google maps, needless to say I have no plans of returning to your establishment. I value my time and money.

Nice service, enjoying the roof top area. Good value $24 dollar Tuesday special for steak comes with a drink. Except the steak was a little bit over cooked, but for its great value nothing to complain. Will definitely come more often for drinks and food. The chicken burger is so Beautiful, and the fish and chips.

The food was standard pub food to me. My side salad was over dressed and the deep fried calamari were too oily. On a plus side, the calamari were not chewy and it didn't have any stringy bits. Some of the water glasses on our table were dirty and I had to ask to get clean ones. It was ok overall but there are better pub meals around for the same money, in my opinion.

Went in for Sunday roast. The male staff member (who must be a new employee) told us the meat was pork, so we ordered it. The meals arrived and the meat was lamb. One of us can't eat lamb, so that was a waste of our money. We didn't say anything so as not to embarrass the staff member but also because we didn't have time to wait for any replacement meal if in fact it would've been offered. Quantity of meat was average to small. The vegetables were nice and well cooked - definitely not hard like a stir fry. The drink was a pot glass and not a small glass which was pleasing. Might revisit one day to give the meal another go but please ensure staff are fully trained on basic knowledge such as meat type in the Sunday roast. We can't afford to pay for meals that we didn't get what we were paying for.

My partner came here for a feed and is gluten free and ordered gf fish and chips, another friend ordered a normal one. The servers bought out two fish and chips that looked the exact same. When he asked which was gluten free, he was served it, being reassured it was gluten free, despite it being beer battered. He ate 1/4 of it, with the servers bringing out a new gluten-free fish and chips and gave his eaten one to our friend. We understand that the hospitality scene is struggling, however, I can't imagine what would have happened if he were severely allergic. Disappointed his dish was then given to our friend.

Can't be more thankful of friendly staffs and management of the Bells Hotel. I usually go with my dog so he can move around freely and having lots of fun. Not only love the hospitality but love the food and drinks there. Highly recommend chicken Parma. Also, if you were looking for an amazing experience of watching sports, Bells Hotel is the best place.

Went to the Bells Hotel for the sports bar experience. Bar itself is set for sports.. Majority of staff can't or don't understand a sports betting matching and simply can't work it. Not the best in a sports bar. Toilet: 1 male toilet for the facility...not 1 urinal, 1 toilet total! Hardly acceptable for an establishment of this size. Happy to come back and experience this again on another day to change this.

I can’t speak highly enough of the Bells Hotel. I had my 21st in the Topiary room & it was absolutely stunning. From the moment I contacted the venue, to the night of my party, the communication was incredible. They went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with everything. They were efficient on the night, and made sure everything was perfect. I couldn’t fault them. Anything I needed or wanted, was bought to life. I couldn’t ask for a better night. It was one to remember & an experience my guests and I will NEVER forget!!!!! I hope to be back, celebrating at your lovely venue soon❤️

Fantastic pub plenty of great friendly staff, you don't have to wait long for service. without that horrible attitude most pub staff seem to have. I'll definitely be going back. Keep up the good work . I couldn't believe how big it was inside.

Good atmosphere to watch the footy finals. I came here to the Rugby World cup. Apart from them opening late 5.30am the game started live at 6am the capacity Will hold a few hundred people. With 4 bars altogether.. 2 down stairs and 2 upstairs. Its enough.

Great food and easy to get to. You can have a drink in a true pub atmosphere, food in a quiet place in a big or small area. Plus upstairs is great for groups, huge. Oh, and the food is worth going for . ...chicken parmigiana is my favourite.

We had a fantastic time at our end of year party in December 2023. The events team were amazing to work with, in executing a wonderful event. The bar staff were super attentive and the food was amazing. Highly recommend having your event here if you're on the hunt. The main room fit our brief perfectly to enable us to play 'college party' games. Thanks to CHG Functions & Bells Hotel - such a great event!

A Huge thankyou to the helpful staff and great service. From the moment we arrived to watch the Grand Final and have some lunch we were hugely impressed with the staff and service. A lot of screens to watch the footy and very tasty lunch offerings. Great atmosphere as well. We'll be back to check out the rooftop dining and bar 👍👍

Went with a group for Wednesday Steak night. We were all very impressed with the quality & value for money, one of the best pub steaks around. They did forget one meal, but old mate got a free beer for his extra wait, so all good! Staff were all very pleasant and professional. Will be back to try out some of the other weekly specials.

On Christmas Day, we participated in the lunch session at 11:30. We were seated immediately after arriving and brought drinks. Unfortunately our original table set up was near the out doors construction zone and we got whiffs of sewerage when the wind blew in a particular direction. The staff were more than happy to move us. I would say it was a mild inconvenience. For three hours, there was an infinite supply of beer and wine. The appetisers included a variety of cold meats and dips, prawns, and oysters, and the main courses included a selection of roasted meats and vegetables. Pavlovas and Christmas puddings were served as part of a dessert buffet. The service was friendly and provided with a grin, and the food was of a very high standard. The fact that they also catered to vegetarians was a fantastic bonus. Because the children did not consume any seafood, it would have been possible to serve them a different meal. We were prepared to pay a somewhat higher amount for Christmas Day, but the pricing was reasonable, and we thought we got a lot of bang for our buck.

Fabulous grand final day spent on the rooftop. We all really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff were all Power houses to keep up with the crowd. Definitely would go back.

This place is massive, we came here to watch the semi-finals last night. And the service was great, food took a little longer than expected but the taste was delicious! I would definitely come back here for a different experience and try out more of their menu.

We had an absolutely delightful experience working with Elle, the Function Manager at Bells Hotel. She was a true superstar! From start to finish, Elle was incredibly helpful, attentive, and responsive, making our parent gala for one of the local primary schools a roaring success. Not only did she handle everything with utmost professionalism, but she also got into the theme of the night, adding a touch of fun and excitement to the event. Kudos to Elle for being an amazing Function Manager! 🌟👏

I go to Bells Hotel every Friday morning for a business network meeting. David has been amazing and supportive with setting up the catering and the room for our event. I often have a great meal before traveling home or during a post network business meeting. Over the past year I have seen them navigate events, renovations and busy times and they have been professional and also raised their standards along the way! The outdoor area and kitchen is also a lovely space to sit and eat. Michael the manager is fantastic too, helpful, greets you with a smile even early on a Friday morning, and I have loved getting to know him each week!

Went for dinner tonight. After wait staff initially gave us the wrong meal (that they'd been wandering the pub with for at least 10 minutes trying to find the correct table) our actual meals arrived. The steak was OK, nothing remarkable. The pork belly was clearly reheated and was ice cold in the middle. We found a large piece of plastic in the mashed potato which the wait staff were completely unfazed and uninterested about. We didn't eat anymore after that as clearly food hygiene is not a priority. Probably skip this one!

My husband and I chose Bells Hotel for our wedding reception (Lady Kaye room) after our initial booking at another venue fell through. From day 1, Elle and the events team were amazing to deal with - they were so kind, thoughtful and attentive to anything we needed! The venue is absolutely stunning and the food was delicious - we had many guests rave about the cheeseburger spring rolls! I wish we could get married all over again just so we can have the reception at Bells again - it was seriously the best night we could’ve asked for. Thank you to Bella as well for being an amazing bartender and new friend - much love to Elle and the team from myself & Liam 💗💗💗

The place is nice with beautiful drinks and meals. But met a beetle and a mouse while had a dinner. That is only one thing I really didn’t like.

We had a wonderful dinner at Bells Hotel. Tuesday night was steak night, $25 for steak and drinks. The staff were very friendly and attentive. There are many sitting areas to dine in, most are really spacious and have a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended Photo updated: We went back on busy Friday evening, food orders came within 15 min and they were delicious. Chicken parma and baked gnocchi.

Having been a local all my life, this pub was a favourite over the decades! To drink, eat, and many functions I've attended in this great old pub! After today, doubt I'd bother to revisit! Food is great, but the rest makes the experience disappointing! Service was poor, meal orders all over the place, and whilst the newly built extension looks great, floors throughout were filthy, tables so sticky the menus stuck to them, and toilet doors were disgusting as were the toilets themselves! No hand wash, dryer was broken, and could do with some serious maintenance, and paint! According to another recent review, the filthiness was taken on board! Clearly doesn't mean ANY FURTHER ACTION TAKEN, as still not cleaned though! Made me question how clean the kitchen might have been??? Then I see a cockroach spray on the bar counter!!! Honestly.....poor form!!! Do yourself a favour, consider another local pub!

Went on steak night. Very good steak cooked to MR. Chips were pub standard. Salad tiny serve and basic rocket along with very little of anything else. Also had the garlic bread. Very pub like bun with cheese & garlic top. Acceptable. Would not rush back. Glad l did not pay top $. Staff were very good.

Always a wonderful time at the Bells. Great food, top service, warm and friendly atmosphere. Appreciate all Sammy and his team do for our rugby club!!

The food was perfect, the venue gorgeous. But, more importantly, Anton and his team are miracle-workers. To make our wedding night as amazing as possible they worked hard and ran a tight ship. They were also the friendliest and most helpful bunch you could ask for. The service was amazing! We can’t thank Bells enough for ensuring our special day was more than special. Nor could we recommend them highly enough. Book your next function at Bells – you won’t regret it!

Really poor service. This place has changed and it's sad as we used to come regularly. Visited on a Saturday night 23rd July. Ordered many drinks and decided to order food 1 beef salad, 2 garlic bread. Kept telling us food was coming but took 1.5hrs for garlic bread to come out after the salad. While I understand it's busy and apologies from staff but not good enough when spent over $100 in drinks alone. Also happened to other tables this night, so really disappointing.

Bells Hotel had a nice range of wine and beer options on their menu and their pub meals were quite decent also. Their vibe was chill and cosy especially in the outdoor area.

I was recently at Bells hotel in Main Hall for a 50th. Great service, love the cloth shades over the roof opening. It was a warm night with the full moon shining. Great atmosphere, staff and food. Thank you Bells🙂👍

We had our wedding at Bells hotel, and wow! All the staff were amazing I had a vision and they planned everything to exactly how I wanted it. They sent me floor plans asked how we wanted it all and they set up the whole venue for us (we hired the whole top floor with the main room). Nothing was an issue and so accommodating. We chose to have a cocktail style wedding and there was so much food which everyone after has told us how good it was. We even had comments from some of our guests that said that it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. Definitely would be back for any future events, we were just so happy how the night turned out. Thankyou to everyone there that made our day and night possible.

Good pub. Food was good. I ordered nachos and it was good value for money. Nice pub to match sports too. Service could be better.

Amazing Staff Amazing venue. We hired the Garden Bar, roof top and topiary for my daughters wedding. Thank you to Jess who done an excellent job of listening and trying to accommodate all our requests and planned the night to a Tee. Big thanks to Melanie and staff for executing the plan on the night. Nothing was too hard and everything ran without a hitch. The staff are a credit to your establishment. They are friendly and so accommodating. We had canape's and feasting platters. There was more than enough food and we were happy with the quality. Well done chefs. Beautiful venue which caters for every need. Thank you Bells Hotel for an awesome night. Highly recommend

Working in the area for five years has meant that despite the fact we are now working from home a lot of my life is now geared around this suburb (hairdresser, acupuncturist, facialist etc) so I continue to spend a bit of time in the area and lucky enough most of my favourite dining haunts are still open. Naturally I stuck with the parma for lunch today (why mess with a winning formula), you can see several photos of different occasions and it’s consistently huge, so definitely good value for money and incredibly filling
