Central Garden's Park is a smallish park in Hawthorn, across the road from Swinburne Universities main Campus. Beautifully maintained gardens with some really nice tree specimens. The enormous fig tree in the North Western corner is one of the largest I have ever seen. There are Robo Toilets in the centre of the park: 3 units with disabled facilities installed in an old brick building. There is a children's playground on the Eastern side of the park with one of the very few Rocket climbing frames left in Australia, around 2 stories tall. The park is extremely popular in fine weather both with local residents and many many students from the adjacent University. Parking is limited and difficult to find as it is in such a busy area.

Lovely park near the Swinburne University campus. I was impressed with the amount of trees in the park providing shade for all the groups of people enjoying their picnics. The public toilet is housed in a really cool old building. Love the place and the feel.

We had our little weekend picnics here, and it's such a nice place to stay and play. My three year old girl loves the rocket slides, the ladders in the rocket could be a bit challenging for some kids, but it's fun. Toilet is very close to the playground, but it's not very clean.

Central Gardens or ‘Rocket Park’ is such a nice park to stroll through. The park is famous for the kids playground which features a large rocket-ship that kids can climb in. There are also public toilets here and the park is well maintained.

There's the famous rocket park for children. Public Bbq, different kinds of trees to sit under the shed of etc. A sweet spot to take a break.

I decided to kill a few hours by bringing my kids here on a hot summer afternoon. It reminded me of when I used to go drinking at the top of the rocket late at night with people I met on the internet. But I digress. The park is wonderful. The pigeons are plentiful, and very fresh. Plenty of shade, ok toilets, and a good variety of Cold War inspired play equipment.

Very space themed park, constellation cutouts in the awnings, rocket shaped tower with slides, and concrete balls for the planets. Set on big grounds, lots of grass, mature trees, a spot to barbecue, and public toilets.

My favourite place when I need some expiration in my art or when I need just quick inner refill, ad we can just rest in the grass and observe the tree over us, observe the joyful of human beings around, celebrate special precious moments like kids or friends birthday around nice sharing barbecue, enjoying someone playing instrument... that central garden it's the place to meet with family or friends... even to do some events.

Very popular and busy on a sunny Saturday morning. The water pump and feature was highlight for younger kids

It's got trees and a barbecue and toilets that close a little early and stoned high school and uni students being discreet. The rocket has been reinstated, thank Christmas. If I had a little garden at home, I'd come at night time and steal a few plants.

Beautiful park, family friendly. You can lay on the grass and take a nap as there are a lot of trees. They just recently refurbished the whole playground and it's looking amazing!

Lovely gardens with good walking paths, mature trees and grassy areas. The famous Rocket Park playground is located on the eastern side. Quiet and peaceful location.

Gorgeous old time Park with enormous trees and a playground for kids and enough room to play cricket, or simply have a shady picnic on a rug

Beautiful Gardens located in Adelaide right next to the Zoo. They are spacious and really well looked after. There are some amazing trees to go and look at where young kids love you play around them. The Flying Foxes are amazing to look at around evening time and bring so much life to the park. Out young kids love watching them and always think of bluey when they see them.

Always a great place to have some excellent bonding time at this Garden. However, it is currently upgrading the Childrens' Playground which is supposed to complete by Mid 2022. Once completed, children will love the "playthings" available.

This is traditionally the location for our annual family Christmas picnic. A wonderful park known to us all for many years as "the rocket park".

Really nice refurb here. Shade, water play, good quality new equipment and a very fine job done with the old rocket. Small but busy.

Love Central Gardens/Rocket Park for a catch up with friends. So much space to chill out with an awesome view no matter where you’re sitting. Lighting at night makes it a good place to walk through in the evenings too.
