This gym has completely gone to s*** I loved it here before at one point But the amount of issues that happen here are just not acceptable here is the list. 1. Currently as of 7/18/23 there is no AC. They have a few portable ones but they do nothing. It feels like a sauna with must in this gym. 2. A lot of broken machines that take weeks if not months to get fixed. 3. Workers are never around when you need help. They are always on their phones or distracted talking/flirting with guest (most of the male workers) 4. Handicap parking is not enforced whatsoever. I had to call the cops myself because people think it’s ok to park there without a handicap permit. 5. The restrooms are FILTHY. They are never cleaned and toilet paper is usually out, soap and paper towels are always low. There are many more issues that I experience here. Unfortunately I will be terminating my membership as sad as I am for how close to home it is. I will not support an establishment that charges me $50 a month and doesn’t have it together. Terrible customer service. The staff was extremely rude. Won’t provide proper regulations of benefits that are included with your membership and then make up excuses so you won’t be able to utilize them. Never sufficient equipment. The gym is always overcrowded. They do not have sufficient equipment or it’s not working or it’s old and looks torn down. They do not have proper AC only one fan in the middle of the gym. The pool is always out of service because of power outages. Just a terrible gym. Don’t recommend it. It also seems like they never clean anything.

This is for the Melrose Park location only. Unfortunately, when I visited to get my tour, I was there at a slow time, Sunday afternoon. It was busy but not crowded. Also, I didn't pay attention to details. When I went back on Tuesday evening, the place was full of people. Had to wait too long for the equipment to get an effective workout. So I left. On my next visit on Saturday morning, it was not as crowded, but I found several broken machines (loose hinge points). Many of the lockers and bathroom fixtures are damaged and unusable. I should have canceled my membership within the 30-day window. Not likely to renew.

Called yesterday, asked about prices for buy 1 year, get 1 yr free membership, and the girl told me $379, but only today, tomorrow will be $399. I dropped everything and came. Mike the sales person started asking me how much I paid several years ago (I was a member about 8 years ago). The he gave me the whole speech about how the prices dropped. Then he started clicking on his computer and all of a sudden: When did you call? I said today. He found the girl who gave me the quote, and guess what? She did not look at the right date. Today, the price is $429, which is basically the price I paid 8 years ago. What was that speech about prices dropping? And who answers the phones and gives quotes and then not honor them? Just strangers from the street? So incompetent!! She did not even come up to apologize! I asked to bring the price down and Mike said: I can't and shows me the screen with the price. Question: if they go by the price on the screen, where did the girl find $379? Do they have different screens for the same gym on the same date? And now I am reading all the one start comments and thinking: God saved me form buying membership in this dirty place. No wonder, 90% of patrons are unhappy. Well, good riddance!

Besides Ben and the young lady in the front this gym is an absolute disaster dirty and nothing literally I'm paying $30 a month and I can't even use the massage chairs half the time the pool and the jacuzzi isn't working and the water in the shower is freezing the ladies locker room is completely filthy always out of paper towels I truly don't understand how they expect the guests to be happy or comfortable even working out I've been going on and off for the fact that every single I go there's an excuse after an excuse why the massage chairs don't work it's crazy how they could take the $30 out of your account or give you a late fee but won't fix the problem I'm very unhappy and I'm thinking about switching to the brickyard besides Ben and one other young lady in their this place is terrible I would not recommend it to anybody dirty filthy horrible I called to talk to a young man about to see what's going on with my accounts and he basically tells me call corporate I'm just a sales man it's very crazy how this place is ran I would like to get off of work and do a nice cardio and sit down in the sauna without seeing paper towels and empty water bottles thrown on the floor or even when I wash my hands there's no paper towels to dry your hands then to top it off every time you go into the washroom to use it they're out of toilet paper I just don't get I'm going to be highly upset if I have to switch to the brickyard cuz this is such a convenience for me I literally enjoyed this place up until about 5 months ago I feel like this gym is geared towards the women with the fake bodies who get cater to and flirt all day with the personal trainers zero Stars if I could get it thank you Ben for always being awesome and to the young girl in the front who makes me feel comfortable other than that this gym is trash

All The equipment and treadmills need to be replaced with new ones. Everything is old, broken and or worn out. Plenty of sketchy people in this gym too and starring into space. Lots of women looking for men, so be mindful that they're there for that reason nothing else. I wouldn't come here if I were looking for a good place to work out.

The club is very poorly maintained. Several of the elliptical training machines are mechanically broken, and this is very obvious as soon as you get on them. They are severely out of balance. Several of the elliptical training machines and treadmills have broken TVs, or the TV channel selector is broken or the audio is broken and cannot be adjusted. X-Sport is terrible at maintaining their equipment. They are SO LAZY at X-Sport that they don’t send any of their employees around to check the equipment to confirm it is operating correctly. Instead, they expect their customers to inform them and to send them a text to report equipment that is not operating correctly. What a bunch of lazy sloths! The washrooms and locker rooms are a disaster. Several water faucets are broken or are missing soap and soap dispensers. The paper towel holders never have paper loaded into them. There has got to be better health clubs in the area that take pride in their company and in maintaining their equipment and their facilities Go somewhere else!

i see a lot of fake reviews talking about how this place is amazing state of the art all of that when in reality this is easily one of their worst locations. i go every single morning when they open and honestly i’m confused about what “sanitary” steps they’re taking because the entire gym is a mess and half of their free weights are missing. Almost all of their equipment is broken and the staff in the morning clearly doesn’t care at all about their role in the morning when people come in they should be replaced too. i’m not sure how much longer i can keep going to a place like this, they open at 7 am on the weekends??? For what? They take 0 steps when it comes to caring for their facility, caring for their members and i’m sure it goes deeper than that. Before the pandemic they had it some what figured out, i’m not sure how but when i go to planet fitness at night not a single machine is closed off or even broken, staff is welcoming and friendly, and did i mention none of their weights are missing? it doesn’t take much to care for a gym, they’re messing up big time not capitalizing on the potential of this location, sad. Looks like L.A fitness will be my new gym in 2021 if they can’t change this location.

UPDATE: I've decided to update my review. I previously had 2 stars but now I bumped it up to a 3 and here's why. The main manager helped me out one time when a machine broke down and he was so generous and explained why it happened with poise. The staff have seen to be more unified and whenever equipment needs to be put back in place due to several people not putting their weights back, they'll usually have everyone staff wise participate and rereck everything within the gym and huge props to them! Maintenance has gotten better but still needs some fine tuning but overall, cleaning staff are always cleaning something and it's a start. Equipment sometimes gets broken but it gets fixed quickly within a day or two nowadays and not like before where it lasted a whole week or two. They've also added signs for any type of restrictions so that people won't be accidentally messing something up and it was really needed. This gym is getting better and props to management over here. Hoping for better things.

The one and only gym you don’t need a membership too!! Nobody is ever at the counter overnights and anyone is allowed to just walk passed the check in, also free drinks!! Nobody is there to check you out so people just grab and walk away. Everyone says the tanning beds don’t work every time you ask to use one because they don’t know how to put you in one, it’s a friggin DUMP. Have fun getting in for free 😊

My son got injured at this gym at their "Child Care." After speaking with Rachel Reger from Human Resources her best response was: "Janet, We do not provide incident reports. They are internal company documents for our purposes only. All children in the child play area are under supervision, but as a parent I'm sure you understand that accidents can still happen." As a parent, I do understand accidents happen. However, my son required multiple stitches to his forehead after being under their supervision. I would not recommend this place and clearly other people do not recommend as well.

Was going to sign up here after visiting as a guest, but there’s no way to justify it. This applies to all xsports in the region…These places have been run all the way down… garbage/old/unmaintained equipment, it’s dirty, it stinks, it’s a joke… trust me. You could tell the people that own these gyms don’t care about anything but getting your money and pocketing it.

The punching station is a hazard for your limbs. Broken pads and exposed metal. Please see photos. Asked the morning front desk lady for the manager contact, in order to talk with him , hoping that by talking with him , he might, at least, replace the broken pads, but she denied any contact. Instead, she took mine , telling me that the manager, Ben, will contact me after 9 am. Few days past and still waiting.

I got a membership mostly so I can swim. I usually swim 2 or 3 times a week for about an hour every time. Everything was fine until this spring when they started closing the pool for weeks and for various reasons. First it was "maintenance" that had the pool closed for 2 months or so. Now it says it is closed due to "power outage"... I don't know what is actually going on or when will they get it together but if they keep doing this I'm canceling my membership...🤬

I do not recommend this gym at all, if cleanliness and taking COVID seriously is something important to you. I went to the gym on 1/15 and employees were not taking any COVID precautions, it seemed. I spotted at least 4 people that did not have any mask on at all, not on their neck or ears, no where in sight. There were so many others that were not wearing a mask properly. Employees did not address this issue once. I even witnessed an employee whom was not wearing her mask properly, hugging a member that was not wearing a mask at all, this happened right in the center of all the working out machines where there were a lot of people around. On this day the gym was very crowded. Machines do not give the impression that they are cleaned apart from members wiping after themselves (which you hope ppl do) each time I've been to the gym Never fails, there is always used/dirty paper towels around some machines, stuffed in the cupholders. More over the paper towel dispensers are always malfunctioning or are empty. This has happened to me at least 3 times and it was only addressed one of those times because I brought it to an employees attention. It seems the protocols to keep the gym clean need some looking at and reviewing. Cherry on top, I called asking about cancelling my membership and was informed there was a 10$ fee and once I spoke to corporate I was informed that no location should be charging because of COVID, this location needs to get it together!

Advertising of facility's equipment and condition needs to be more transparent to customers and facility paying members. A good number of the equipment are faulty. Showers in the shower stalls are frequently broken. Sometimes only cold freezing water comes out, and sometimes only very hot scalding water comes out. Maintenance is poor: toilet stalls and bathroom are often littered with used paper towels around the floor. Garbage bins are frequently overflowing in the bathroom area. These equipment conditions seem unsafe and unsanitary for users. I would say it is probably only a matter of time before these things are noticed by a government safety and sanitation regulations inspector, and / or reported to them.

There's no recording here which is stupid but this gym is amazing say the less. I definitely will recommend this gym to people it's diverse, spacious, & the people here are amazing if u talk to them and open up.

Love the place! I go at night like 12 to 1 a.m every night almost. its organized,very friendly environment and very spacious! The staff are very kind and informative. Has a pool(shared) jacuzzi(shared) also a steam and suana rooms in each mens and female bathrooms(not shared) has multiple showers. Plenty of locker space. Also a basketball court and yoga room. Loads of different workout equipment. Tanning and massage available during 9 am to 9 p.m i do wish the members could bring atleast one guest though. It ends at 9 p.m which is unfortunate for couples that cant afford 2 memberships and work rotating hours. Only thing i have to say that is negative is the mens bathroom is usually very messy with trash overflowing normally, bathroom stalls smell very bad as well. Half to do in part with members not being responsible by not picking up after themselves and the other half on staff for not checking or thoroughly cleaning and disinfectant the areas regularly.

Had a joint membership ($40 a month, the next membership) with my mom, the gym was fine for 2 months. Bit crowded and sorry of dirty, but fine. Then they wouldn't let me in as a minor without my parents because i didn't own the account, even though the person who sold me the membership told me I could come in alone. Also, the classes are always crowded and people who had lower memberships could always come in. ALSO also if you need dumbbells from 10lbs to 35lbs, forget it. I never see them. And the bar to benches and squat racks were always gone? Bad customer service. Lacking equipment. Wouldn't recommend.

Stopped in while traveling for work for a weekend guest pass, staff was super great and helpful, even offering some suggestions on new proteins to try. Great gym with everything you’d need for a workout.

It's been 3 weeks since I've informed staff about the steam room not working. Last week, some staff member had mentioned that maintenance had came to fix it, but the issue still remains. Not only that, but the sauna room isn't clean at all. Can someone please take care of this? I've also called the number they have posted in the locker room to address situations like these.

When this place was new a few years ago easily 5 stars, price isn't too bad compared to most other gyms either. I don't know if there's a new boss or he just doesn't care but when something breaks or needs fixing it takes so long for them to fix it. I've seen machines broken for weeks, the sauna was down for a month+, steam room is currently down and it's been a few weeks.

Good . Just started a membership. The one in Melrose park is good . People are friendly and not obnoxious .I can into the basketball area and people wanna play its great.

Lavatory facilities were cordoned off- so no restroom or shower. Otherwise decent except YOU NEED A PUNCHING BAG(S)!

I scanned their QR code and one of the staff told me i would receive an email to create an account for their app in 24 hours and i never received it. I tried making my own account through safari and once i downloaded the app it kept saying error. Im so confused as to how am i supposed to make things work now??

Huge place lots of options from your average nutritional powders to a full length swimming pool. Love the steam room & jacuzzi. Basketball court, rumba class personal trainers i believe. Nice place. The bathrooms could use a little attention. Overall a good spot to get fit.

Amazing gym. Mike is the best personal trainer ever! He helped me understand the basics of working out and how to get in the gym without wasting time. Also taught me a lot about dieting.

I have returned to a gym after many many years and I picked this one because the schedule it's supposed to be 24/7 and other services such as day care and classes they offer. The sad part it's that since the pandemia theme came to our lives not all services they have, they actually have active. I just hope everything comes back normal with those fun classes like zumba or spinning.

Favorite spot to come just wished the locker room was a little bigger, but other than that clean and staff has always been very attentive and polite. Covid status I do see people not wearing mask or just up to the mouth none of the staff says anything not i see anyone walking around to assure everyone is practicing the precautions for COVID. Especially in the studio!! No mask at all, if your staff can be more attentive on that issue it would be great!
