Heard about this place due to a bike meet and so glad I visited. Had a lovely breakfast in the dog friendly cafe and then looked around the shops. This place is perfect for families as there is a playground and seating outside, perfect for a picnic with the children or a cuppa and cake from the cafe.

Visited with daughter today for lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed, food excellent, staff friendly. Plenty of room to eat out but as it was cooler today we dined inside. Noticed a play area for children. Good parking area with designated disabled parking area.

Such a lovely place. Free parking. Lovely cafe with friendly people. Lovely shops on site. The grounds are immaculate with a play area for kids and a lovely wooded walk. The old windmill is interesting to see and go up in, the views from each level are stunning. Definatly a place worth a visit.

Cycled 50 miles especially to visit the mill. Coffee was great, staff very friendly but a little disappointed to be served my breakfast in a takeaway carton. Other than that absolutely amazing 👏

A beautiful location offering a lovely picnic area and tea rooms. The food is a little pricey but really worth it, with very tasty meals, snacks, homemade desserts, tea and freshly ground coffee, all served by friendly and polite staff. The historic windmill is well worth looking around, and the shops offer some interesting items for sale. Ample parking is provided.

There is a lovely relaxing atmosphere here. The staff are are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. We especially enjoyed the cream teas. It is great to learn the history of the windmill, to read about the restoration work and see how the local children have been engaged to help provide a pleasant experience for looking around this historic building and nearby woodland.

Great destination for cyclists. I asked for a Gluten-free breakfast and was told that the sausages were not GF, therefore my only choice was a vegetarian option. The food was delivered hot and tasted really good, but the toast looked the same as my non GF friend’s breakfast?

Did an outside broadcasts from there for 103 The Eye radio station. Only had coffee & cake as we were interviewing owner, workers & clients. Nice atmosphere and great service.

Great place and open right through lockdown despite interfering government jobsworths doing their best to shut them down for good.

Fantastic cafe. Very spacious, great service and extensive menu. Sausage and bacon sandwiches are lovely and the scampi delicious. And then there's the bonus of a really rustic and well-preserved windmill. Highly recommended.

Loved this quirky windmill, very informative..there are lots of steps, you can stay in the ground floor of you have accessibility concerns... the grounds are kept well ...the children loved the play area and there is plenty of parking and seats outside where you can eat or drink...

No sails on the mill, but you can climb all the way to the top (if you have a head for heights) Nice tearoom serving tasty hot and cold food and drinks Nice play area for smaller children Gentle stroll through a wooded area with interesting sculptures on display A couple of nicely presented retail shops with the usual arty items in one, and old furniture (at very good prices) in the other Well worth a visit on a quiet afternoon out

A short stop today at a windmill, I understand that the windmill has recently had it's top replaced, we stopped for a quick break here today and was able to explore and go up all floors of the mill and see the workings that now need some restoration. The steps are small and steep and if you don't like heights you may not like them, but it's worth the climb. There is a nice tea room here with food available too with toilets that are kept clean and tidy. I am not going to review the food as we only stopped for a quick drink. Too the side of the mill there are a couple of boutique style shops to have a browse round. To the other side of the mill is a big grass kids play area and places to sit when the weather is suitable. The car park is quite big but it was quite full today but that was partly due to a small convoy of vintage / classic cars stopping off to use the tea room. It's a bit off the beaten track but if your out for a leisurely country drive it's worth a stop.

Stopped off on a bikepacking trip and had a coffee - lovely location and nice cuppa. Very friendly staff. And very handy to have a bike shop on site as my groupset went into crash mode as I left!

Fantastic cafe, with excellent food, could not fault it. Unfortunately the play area is totally unsuitable for small children. Every single one of the ride on toys is broken with sharp edges or parts missing and just need to be binned, the play 'bark' seems to be shredded tyres and stains clothing and shoes and is full of plants, the ground is also very uneven with lots of trip hazards and a hidden step. The older play equipment isn't in great condition either. There is a lovely park in the village, but it's a shame that the equipment at the windmill is so unsafe. The woodland walk is lovely but a bit overgrown with nettles

Lovely setting for a homemade delicious lunch. A good range of homemade sandwiches and cooked food. We enjoyed eating outside as it was a lovely day but also good seating inside. Food was prepared fresh so about a fifteen minute wait but we’ll worth it.

Very interesting place, in the midst of being repaired, which will, by all accounts, take some time ! Nice shops on the site too.1view from the top, 2 the drive wheel the mill has no sails as yet. Free to visit, donation accepted ( needed)

A lovely destination for a motorbike ride. Enjoyed Sunday breakfast outside in great surroundings. Good value for money and the staff coped very well during the influx of cyclists and bikers.

Lovely old windmill with views over the village and surrounding countryside - if you are ok with very steep steps it is worth going up to the top of the windmill! - and tea Room which is open until 5pm.

What a fantastic place! We hired the barn for our 40th wedding anniversary and had afternoon tea. Josh and his staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble which made our afternoon special. Everyone commented on how wonderful the food was many saying it was the best afternoon tea they have ever had.
