This hotel definitely has it's pros and cons. To start with the pros, the people who work here are pretty friendly. I always received great service from Amy up in the M club lounge. They also had nice toiletries in the bathroom like pillow spray etc. However... My pillows were horrible. I'm used to Marriott giving me a couple of down and a couple of foam pillows. They only gave my down and when you laid on them they were literally as flat as a pancake. You could tell maybe a few years ago they might have been nice pillows but they were so deflated that I could wrap my middle fingers and thumbs around the middle of the pillow. The TV never did work, and furthermore, don't expect smart TVs so you can watch Netflix etc. Someone was also smoking in my hallway every day which made it miserable. I called the front desk and I did see someone come and spray something but no one ever did anything about the people smoking. I also didn't feel extremely safe in this hotel. Definitely will be staying at the Courtyard Memphis downtown next time. They also don't have a bathtub so if you have small children it would be quite difficult to bathe them.

No room service as mentioned in Marriott app. No coffee or tea in room. I require walkin shower plus near elevator. I received neither. Sorry, I was near a elevator. The service elevator!!! I asked one of the workers passing my door a question...no English he said. The elevators were old and the card key took many attempts before giving access to the floor or room. I loved how close I was to the courthouse. I liked how first they responded when I used the app but they never could achieve what seemed like a easy request.

Contacted hotel 5 hours before arrival for late check in. Was told everything was good to go. Arrived at 1:30 am and was told that the water had been out since noon the day before. Limited heat in building. I had no transportation, no option, no discounts, nothing. Marriott knew of this problem when i called 5 hours previously and gave me no warning. Now I was stuck at 2 am in a hotel with no heat and no water. They even had time to print out a form that said i agreed to stay under those conditions. Had they warned me, I would have stayed at my daughters house less than 30 minutes away. Ridiculous and complete deception on the part of Marriott. Don't tell me it was a surprise event, then you have a legal document that you had made up hours prior to my arrival for a lack of services that happened almost 12 hours before I arrived. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Do not stay here! I repeat do not stay here! The pool is NOT heated. In order to get to the pool you have to ride on a 1956 elevator that goes extremely slow and makes you think it may stop at any time. It is also hard to breathe on that elevator as it goes to the basement which is where the pool is located. I was double charged for my hotel stay, and then told they would compensate me with some reward points but they did NOT. It also took days for me to get my money back from being double charged. This hotel is not 8 stars! Breakfast is NOT complimentary…2 plates were $40 which included a basic complimentary style breakfast. The room curtains had red stains on them (possibly blood)…idk it was disgusting. This hotel is NOT kid friendly. They have parties at night, and smoke weed. The hotel also is off the highway and creates lots of noise. Do not stay here.

Hotel room and stay were both pleasant. Bar was a plus for a safe nightcap. Reason for my 3 star is the snack area. Couldn’t get the staff to not charge the 2 small bags of chips and 16 oz soda to my room and I found out why when I checked out. They literally charged me $19 for those 3 items. Was I expecting $8-$10 for convenience, yes. $19 was highway robbery and they lost my respect on this one. Also tried resolving some over billing issues with Terry who checked me in. I had to keep repeating myself because she claimed she couldn’t hear me because of all of the lobby noise. Moments later she told me I was yelling in her ear. Rude as hell.

Customer Service was Amazing. The staff was very friendly. We were at the property for a Travel Agent Event. The hotel was absolutely Beautiful. The infused water was really good. The parking lot was spotless. I could go on and on. As a Travel Agent I love doing Market Research at different hotel properties so I can spread valuable information to my clients. Oh yeah the bar is nice too can't wait to book my clients here. And I heard that there's usually live entertainment, but our Travel Agent Event was over before it started. I would love to do a property tour on the entire property so I can show everyone.

They charged for everything... including FREE WiFi 😲 we paid $900 for a special Crown Victoria event that was $129 a night. We only stayed 3 nights. The desk charged an extra $150 for incidentals that was never returned. Robbery, snobbery & the least customer service ever. Comfort Inn is way better

Despite some of the reviews I saw, this hotel feels perfectly safe to me. Otherwise, it is a hotel typical of Marriott these days, reasonably comfortable but entirely uninspiring. Don't book the rooms facing the highway.

Hotel was nice and clean, it was a farther drive from many things we wanted to experience. Parking is free and customer service was great. They do overbook there rooms so be aware of that. I wanted a king size room and got 2 doubles. They have a nice bar and lounge area, they also put out free cookies and infused water. There is a snack bar but each item is $5, regardless of what the items is, food, beverage or medication. They had a security guard patrolling the parking lot.

Remember to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This web site will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rooms much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the highest rated in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you won't regret it. The staff was professional and friendly. They even called us after we got to our room to ask if everything was ok. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.

Overall, I have no complaints about this property. Clean, spacious, good food and relatively easy to get to. On a personal preference, the addition of 1 peoloton or a spin bike would be a nice add to mix up workouts while traveling but the fitness center is spacious with multiple treadmills, an elipitical, free weights and cable machine. There was only 1 mat in the fitness center. Another addition would be nice as well. Many other reviewers mentioned the walls are thin and it was loud. I didn't have any issues.

Good hotel. I stayed here because of the location of the company office. The rooms were neat (a little dated) and the bar/restaurant was pretty good. The employees are hands down the best thing about this place and I would definitely come back because of the great service! The location is slightly challenging as it is in between two one-way roads. There is security driving in the lot 24 hours, but I would not plan on leaving anything in the car that you don't feel comfortable parting ways with.

My catalytic converters were stolen from the parking lot overnight. There was zero security. There are no cameras. Apparently this is common here and nothing is being done to protect visitors. My weekend was completely ruined and cost me a fortune. On top of that, $19/person for mediocre breakfast that many other hotels offer complimentary.

Great hotel, quiet and does the job as I am there on business 100% of the time. Security is a major concern at this hotel as it is right by a main interstate loop and an easy getaway for criminals. While I was there 15 cars (including mine) got broken into with other cars stolen. Marriott did nothing other than say unfortunately it happens all over the city. They have one camera at the entrance of the hotel and somehow the "security" missed all this happening. If you stay at this hotel- take everything of value inside and leave your doors unlocked. Marriott gave zero cares about any of this happening and for this will no longer be staying at this property or any other Marriott properties after this interaction.

Indoor pool area really nice. The pool is not heated so they heated the room it’s in & it works. When I got out of the pool to dry off I wasn’t freezing. Hotel centrally located. It’s next to target & great places to eat. I would stay here again.

Erianne, great customer service, give her 5 🌟. She resolve any issues, very polite. I would visit based off her service alone. However, the rooms could use better housekeeping and a bit of update to rooms. I went to store to grab cleaning supplies to clean my room, since that was the second room I had to request. Housekeeping is slipping badly. Great location.

Nice location on the East side of Memphis, close to Germantown. Pretty short ride from the airport. Nice lobby bar. Tenth floor club lounge has a nice variety of items for breakfast as well as hot and cold appetizers in the evening. The lounge stays open between for cold drinks and snacks

This past weekend was the third event I’ve planned within the last year at this hotel. They have THE BEST staff in the city! Nicholl, the Director of Sales, is always very helpful and accommodating with each and every one of our requests, and she does it with a very pleasant attitude! (She has the patience of Job) Kesha kept me on my toes with the hotel deadlines (because I would forget), also with a pleasant attitude! Cynthia, Allen, Ruthie, Miguel and the rest of the banquet staff (I hate I didn’t get everyone’s name) made sure we had everything we needed during the event! They went above and beyond to make to make me look good for our participants! Jason is always helpful with our A-V needs. The General Manager also stopped through several times to check on us! I would highly recommend them for any future events!

This location was better than i expected for Memphis.. The room was clean and quiet.. I felt cold as it seemed the heat was slow to warm up. The only other issue was that I was expecting the complimentary breakfast but they charged me for it. I didnt like that at all.

Security here is terrible. Not only were multiple cars broken into on the second night of our stay, the private security guard honked her horn all night in the parking lot below my window. She then made rude gestures and honked as she followed us out of the lot in the morning! Our booking group had to hire private security for our vehicles and the honking occurred again two nights later. My room had a leaking shower and two requests to maintenance produced no change. Walls between rooms are paper thin, I was missing privacy curtains in my room as well. No microwave in rooms and my request for one was denied.

Best features of this property were comfortable bedding, cleanliness of rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The windows are floor to ceiling. We had a west facing room so the sunset view was great and when it rained one evening it was nice to hear the rain on the window. However, the location is somewhat awkward to get into. It’s “landlocked” by busy roads and you can only enter or exit onto a single, one way street. Traffic noise is very noticeable but not a bother for our family. Breakfast is all you can eat but not complimentary. Previous reviews cited security concerns but we had no issues whatsoever. Poplar Street has all sorts of shopping, great restaurants and a theater nearby… but again you have to adjust to navigating around the location. Disappointed that the whirlpool tub was out of service.

The stay on November 9-12 was good. The rude receptionist I spoke with on November 21st at 9pm EST, who left me on hold for 5 minutes with no explanation was the issue. I just wanted to find out how to get my stay recorded in Bonvoy. I called back and she placed me on hold again for 4 minutes, only to come back and rudely tell me I needed to call Bonvoy customer service to resolve the matter. This could have been so easy if she just had a good attitude. Guess it's my fault for asking her.

Front desk Staff were not the nicest/accommodating. Never asked if I was a Marriott member and then charged me $10 for WiFi and told me none of it could be reversed as I did not provide my Marriott number when I checked in. I travel for work very frequently and always choose to stay at Marriott's and I am always asked for my number when I check in. It’s just very frustrating that they said they could do nothing for me.

We spent 3 nights here in April 2022. The staff is efficient and accommodating but working under difficult conditions. The hotel was fully booked with conventioneers and poorly-supervised groups of kids. There was no food or beverage service in the afternoon, and the market was poorly stocked. Leaving the hotel for a snack was a pain. Trash and cigarette butts everywhere and no trash receptacles in sight. Hope you’ll add trash cans, a luggage cart check out system, and a place for smokers other that at the front door. This was not a typical Marriott experience. A fully booked hotel without a full staff can make for an unpleasant stay.

Stayed here a few times and had billing issues for at least half of them. Trying to resolve those issues is close to impossible. They didn't recognize my Marriott status on my most recent stay and I've been on the phone with them 4 times so far to remove the internet charges that shouldn't be there. I gave it 3 stars cause the staff there was always pleasant, rooms are generally clean and the location is decent if you want some good restaurants nearby. Other than that, there isn't much that stands out as great with this hotel.

The attention to detail here at the hotel is lacking. It's very difficult to get anyone to help you when you call the front desk during the day or night to make changes. The rooms are spacious but always something missing once housekeeping does the service. Towels are usual left for face towels not large bath towels. Showers are a bit cramped. Morning coffee is never out at 530 am and the lounge is closed. Water is never refilled. It's just poor attention to details and if you bring it up, nothing is corrected. I even emailed the General Manager to try and get some items corrected with their teams and never heard back. Hopefully they will get back on track.

First time staying and we were very satisfied. Upon arrival the staff was very courteous and cordial. For some reason I was booked for 3 rooms instead of one( an Expedia mistake) but it was quickly cleared up. Thankfully I was only billed for one room. The rooms must have been remodeled because they were better than the pics and the bathroom was 👍🏿👍🏿. The next morning I got a chance to go to the gym and that was a good experience also hand sanitizer and complimentary water was available and that was a plus. All in all this was a good stay and will definitely be on my list of hotels to stay in when in Memphis.

Lovely hotel, good breakfast, nice lobby, quality of rooms and service was great. The hotel gym is also very nice, on the fourth floor with treadmills facing the windows so you have a cool view. The only issue was the pool 🥹 My family and I were really looking forward to swimming so we called many hotels to confirm if their pool was open. Via phone they confirmed the pool was open. So we booked with them. Upon arrival, we asked again they said yes. When we went to the pool, they had these signs posted, front desk had no idea about them when we brought it to their attention, and then urged us to not swim until they confirmed it was okay to swim (better safe than sorry, i understand). They promised to get back to us with answers and they didn’t. We asked another staff member and the interaction of not knowing anything about it repeated. I am happy they preferred to be safe, but the miscommunication was frustrating. I appreciate the staff being nice as possible throughout.

The hotel overall is nice and very clean, but the walls are thin so between the neighboring room and all the commotion in the hallway I couldn't sleep well. The water temperature controls were either hot or cold, no good in between. The overall location is close to a variety of places, but the precise location of the hotel is kind of in a weird spot. It's not the worst, but if you aren't familiar with one ways and roundabouts then you'll be a bit confused. I wouldn't mind staying here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
