Nice selection of restaurants and gift shops. I also visited a candy shop that was good. Be aware of your surroundings, it is a very rough place at night. I suggest go in the day time. You will also pay for parking. We paid 10 dollars for 4 hours, not too bad. Be prepared to pay cover charges as well for many of the restaurants.

Memphis Tennessee... I loved it.... 🤩 Beautiful City 🌆 the people showed so much 💕 love. The music coming out of every establishment was an amazing experience. Definitely 😁 coming back. Beale street was lit up with lights as the night took over. Entertainment ever where...

The variety of bars, restaurants and stores is overwhelming. Needless to say, it is a crazy scene in the evening and during special events, such as the Liberty Bowl game. I can only assume that during warmer weather, the area is jumping. It appeared most of the bars had a window to order a drink or two and to keep walking the street. Yes, while I was there, walking the street with a cocktail in hand was permitted. The street was shut down to traffic for those types of gatherings, especially since they held a parade and the foot traffic was huge for that event. You can expect some characters here and there, but nothing that makes you feel uncomfortable or scared. Like most entertainment districts, coming with friends and family will make the experience more enjoyable and you'll have others watching out for each other. There are a few parking garages around the area, check for parking apps that support these facilities.

It's heavily focused on alcohol consumption and expensive tourist souvenirs. Not very authentic or focused on food/ music or the arts. However there are some very nice written history stands around. Definitely not worth visiting during the day time. Fyi - few things open before 11am.

Besides the humidity the jazziest place you could go! Took my 2 year old and she loved it. All the local food and music and the history! Stayed at the train hotel near there. Every good place within walking distance! Amazing!! Will go again!

Beale Street was definitely exciting. Sad to see a lot of run down places. Overall, really enjoyed looking around and walking. You can order cohol to go and walk around this street which was cool!

Three blocks of blues, drinks and local food. After 8pm-ish there is a $5 tickets at entrance. If you're already within those streets, you can stay for free. Every restaurant has its own bands playing on different shifts throughout the day and night. Also most of them have their own unique draft beers. Hard to tell which one is the best, you got to try as many as you can.

Fun experience for the whole family. They do charge a $10 for each person over 12… make sure you don’t go during the band changeover or you will feel like you wasted your cover charge. The kids all got chicken strips and the LOVED them. One of our kids said they were the best they’re ever had. I got the meatloaf which was pretty good… VERY sweet so beware if you don’t enjoy super sweet meat dishes. My wife got the shrimp and grits and loved every bite of it. The live music was fantastic. The staff was great. Overall just a great experience with better food than I expected!

We had a blast! I recommend staying at the Hampton inn and suites: Beale street. From there it is a 30 second walk to Beale. Lots of places to eat and drink. You can carry your drinks around a section of the street. There are a lot of law enforcement parents at night. It feels really safe.

MUST visit in Memphis. A lot of nice Bars with Live music and delicious food and good drinks. Parking is sometimes a problem, because the parking spots are very expensive.

Such a vibrant and fun place to be. Lots of options for shopping souvenirs. Memphis based fun items are available. Also, good food spot, the whole street is vibrant and filled with music and dance and street artists. Checkout the shops to find items that remind you of your childhood. And listen to some nice music from the land of Blues.

After our 3rd trip to Memphis we actually got to go here and enjoyed it a lot. One very kind man (the bucket man) was totally amazing playing his buckets and even let our son give it a whirl. Coyote Ugly was another great hit for us. Gotta go back again next time!

Visited the famous street on New Year's Eve and witnessed the preparations for the "Ball Drop" intended to happen at the strike of 12 midnight. Though the street seems very light in terms of people, I observed that there were diners in the restaurants that were open to the public. So I'm hopeful it would return to its former status as a "hub for musicians" and tourists!

This is the place to be in Memphis. Lots of bars and clubs to enjoy live music, beer and good comfort food. We all know Memphis is not the safest city in the world but you feel really safe here. You'll find police officers in every inch of this street, the also close the street to traffic so you don't have to mind about being hit by a car. All places with live music charge $10 as entrance fee (no complimentary drinks with it).

Very tourist friendly and we felt very safe during the day and into the evening. At night there is a police presence and I got the idea that they are there to keep any rowdy drunks calm rather than to stop crime. There are too many places to list to get great food or entertainment. We were here for a week and came down at least once every day. We used the MATA trolley to save money on parking and it runs every 15 - 20 minutes going from the Beale st area along Main street towards the hotels.

A good selection of bars, diners, and souvenir shops. It seems the best music venues are busiest later in the evening. I liked the fact that locals and tourists enjoy the street in parallel.

Great place to hit up restaurants with good food and live music. I enjoyed several bars and restaurants. B B Kings Blues Club was good with hood live music and good food. There are numerous places to visit and enjoy music and food like the Hard Rock Cafe, Memphis Music Hall of Fame, Silky O'Sullivan's to name a few. Easy access via trolley.other things to see within walking distance like the National Civil Rights museum.

A visit to the Beale Street is a must. We were fortunate to experience the area before the crowd of tourists arrived. Parking was surprisingly a breeze on a weekday. It was paid-parking though. Pay attention to the musical notes on the ground with the names of the well-renowned singer, songwriters. Make sure to allot time for a meal in one of the pubs along this street. We personally tried the mouth-watering ribs from BB King’s.

Always a great time on this street 😊. I have met many people.. store owners/workers are so friendly and helpful.. plenty to do and see. Make an afternoon of it! Great food, local art work for sale, souvenirs, unique gifts, bars with different atmospheres, definitely worth checking out!

This was so cool I loved having the option to listen to different types of blues in every single club, bar, and restaurant. The live bands were amazing. Plenty of shopping and I had no complaints for any of the food including BB Kings restaurant. It was really scrumptious!

The downtown area was clean and felt safe with all the police presence. It was around 11:30pm when we were there and some places were wrapping up by midnight, which means we caught the final song for a few live acts. A handful of places stayed open until 3 but not a lot of places served food after midnight, so watch out for that! Shops don't open until 11am so didn't get a chance this trip, maybe next time!

Cool street with about five blocks closed off to traffic. There's gift shops, music and lots of bars. Drinking in the street? No problem. Party atmosphere 1st, music second.

  • 5/5 Nick H. 2 years ago on Google
Nice piece of musical history! Similar to 6th in Austin or Bourbon St in Louisiana. Everything opens around 11, so we had a nice stroll before everything opened. A Elvis statue is also close by.

  • 5/5 Christina C. 2 years ago on Google
More fun than Nashville. Really enjoyed our 24 hours here. Food is great, people are friendly. You can drink outside and smoke indoors, pretty neat if you’re into either. Beers were really well priced considering this is a tourist spot. Lastly, the music was fantastic. Highly recommend!!

  • 4/5 David W. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of restaurants and bars on a strip of the street. Some street vendors and homeless walking around but my wife and I felt safe and comfortable. Positive police presence. I would recommend parking on the north side of Beale St in one of the lighted parking garages.

This is an unbelievable place, from morning to late at night, every bar has something going on.some bars with more than one level will have a band on each level, and the quality of the musicians is unbelievable. Layla's bar and Teddy's bar probably our favourites but the other bars where special too. This is not a cheap place to drink and tips are appreciated including the bands but just go with the flow and enjoy this amazing place

We had a wonderful night on Beale Street even on a weekday there was a great selection of live music coming from just about every bar. Over the course of the night with all the great people and music it made a new fan of the blues.

Fun and exciting area of Memphis. There are lots of shops, restaurants and bars around. But be on the lookout for those folks that are willing to take your good time and turn it into a bad time, so going in a group would be recommended.

  • 5/5 Alba T. 10 months ago on Google
It was a nice experience. They have places where you can eat good BBQ and they serve good beer. It is a historical place that transports you to another era and other times. It is a place that you must visit if you go to Memphis.

Visited in the daytime. Not crowded! Able to get a table right away at BB Kings. A great place to walk around or do a pub crawl.

On the way out of town we had to stop on Beale St. They pretty much have it all down there, restaurants, bars, cool little shops, old time ice cream parlor. We even got to see a making of a rap video (NLE Choppa) pretty cool.

  • 3/5 Mad H. 1 year ago on Google
This is a real opportunity to go and take some great photos with friends and family. It's also great to pick up some knowledge and learn some important history of Memphis and it's people. Just make sure to get it all in before it gets dark because the good vibes tend to get darker as the sun sets further down beyond the horizon. Meanwhile there is plenty to feed the mind, body, and soul before nightfall. Great food and music can be expected as the folks here thrive in these categories.

  • 4/5 Mike L. 10 months ago on Google
Lots of points of interest. Walk of Fame is interesting to see how many names you know. Smell reminds me of Bourbon St because the entire area smells like pee. Lots of live music, good food and lots of people, even in the middle of the week. Would definitely like to return when it's just me and the wife so we could enjoy some of the music venues.

  • 5/5 RICHARD B. 10 months ago on Google
We had a great time walking around downtown in the entertainment district and seeing the old buildings. If you are into the adult beverages then this is your place to be or if you are going to a basketball game it is going to be great. Pretty cool place to check off the bucket list for us.

  • 5/5 Teresa D. 10 months ago on Google
Visited on a Wednesday night which happened to be Bike night. Beale Street was literally full of all types of motorbikes which with their engines roaring and the music emanating from the venues made for a very interesting atmosphere.

For the experience and all the bars...the city and businesses do a very good job at keeping the area clean. It is a very nice location with a ton of options to hit up for good drinks, great food and even better blues music.

My heart hurts for what the pandemic has done to Memphis. This place is dead. Restaurants and bars were allowed to open but there were so many restrictions that it wasn't even fun. We walked up and down so we could say we did and went back to our hotel.

So much to see. I went during the pandemic cv19 went on Thursday night before labor day weekend. Alot of the shops were closed. Some bars were open. I got 2 insomniac cookies and alot of great pictures of the neon lights. There were Memphis pd at every intersection.

  • 2/5 Divya R. 3 years ago on Google
Memphis felt like a ghost town. Barely any people were on the street except some homeless. No one was in the trolley. Very few tourists. Even with COVID, I was expecting a little more to be going on than there was on a Thursday evening. Beale Street is quiet and quite colorful and has potential to be a loud, good time...I hope it gets revived somehow!

  • 3/5 Beth R. 3 years ago on Google
About 3 blocks of bars/restaurants. Closes at 10pm, not sure if that's because of covid or not. Was ok. Cops were everywhere so it's safe.

This is a fun area to walk around, have a few drinks and eat. The music starts in the early evening. Most of the neon signs are in good shape & most of them still light up. Great history.

What is there to say? You must experience it. You just must. From the time you pull up and see it you feel the majesty of the grand structures as they line the street with all their adornments and grandeur. We just looked for a moment. Pretty.... Then we began our sojourn and found emblems statues well renowned establishments and warm spirits. Stop by and get an experience of your own.... 👌
