What a beautiful park! We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and we had a few hours until we had to be to our next event, so I took my kids here to the playground by the pond. Beautiful! They played the entire time! The trails were muddy so we didn’t go far in, but the paved road through the trees was perfect for waking and running. I felt safe alone during the day the next morning when I came back to run. Would highly recommend this place to families. *I did not check to see if there were restrooms and if they were clean, I’d there were any. CON: parking is crazy there by the park. Just a tiny lot and it was PACKED on a Sunday afternoon.

Fantastic in-city Park, well maintained, very well laid out. Used by many people. Wonderful walking path through Overton Park Old Forest. I'd put Overton Park up against any large city park in the country. Memphis zoo is located here too.

Overton Park is the perfect outdoor sanctuary to meditate and relax during breaks or lunch. I love how the walking track wraps around the small lake, reflecting the fiery colors of Autumn leaves from the trees nearby. The park features a fantastic outdoor playground for the kids, and even our dogs have a designated space to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Exercise enthusiasts can utilize the woodland trail for walking, cycling, or jogging, and all of this enjoyment is right in the backyard of the Memphis Zoo.

The Shell is a fantastic venue. Memphis is very lucky this place for music, fun and family. Bring a pick a nick basket or enjoy delicious food trucks! Saw Memphis's own Yella P and Libby Rae Watson a couple of weeks ago. Great show. Last night we saw John Paul Keith and the Rhythm of the City. This is my favorite show of Keith's I've ever seen!

Great hiking trails and a nice memorial for fallen veterans. The trails are shaded and there are bathrooms and fountains at the main entrances. Also a nice pond by the central kids playground.

I love to visit this park with my family and friends. It is located in the center of the city. It has many tables, trees, and grass areas for picnics. It has 2 trails for biking, skating or walking. I like to use the grass areas for mediation and yoga. This park is clean and has restroom facilities.

Love this park. Great for everything you can think of. Even the air smells refreshing 😌 go there, you have to experience it for yourself. My kids are too small to do everything available there but this place is like the motherland of all parks.

I went to the zoo part of this park, but the park has way more to offer than what I was able to see. The zoo is awesome. The kids can swim in the fountain at the front, which I would have loved as a kid. The animals were fairly active as it was cooler and had rained in the morning. I was able to see the Cheetah move around, which was neat. I was able to see the wolves, even though they were sleeping. The panda bears were my favorite. A lot of zoos don't have panda bears. They also have a seal show that was entertaining too. Definitely a must see zoo.

We had a blast at the Overton Park Memphis Zoo. We got to see the Zoo Lights and most of the amazing animals altho winter and Covid have shutdown a few areas, there were still tons of people and tons of fun to be had!

This was my first visit to Overton Park and was pleasantly surprised. The lawn was well manicured, no visible trash and plenty of green space to enjoy the mother nature. Also, it was a nice change to see so many people enjoying the outdoors.

Such a cool zoo! I didn't realize they had a water park inside the zoo. I was a little upset about that and it cost 10 dollars on top for parking. Plus you also have to pay for the water park separately from everything else. Still a cool place!

A nice relaxing place to go in Memphis. They had a very spacious grassy areas where you can enjoy the outdoors. There are picnic benches spread out randomly which is a positive for me. There is an area for kids that had typical playground equipment, an area for dogs and a scenic watery area. This park is very beautiful. We went on a popular day and there was not a lot of parking but although there were a lot of car, there was plenty of room for people. This is a good place to unwind and get some fresh air.

It's a great place. The shell changes colors and in different sequences. You do have to sit on the grass, but you can always bring lawn chairs. There are food trucks, Mempops, and even a bar... The grass is really nice. The acoustics are wonderful. You should really go and watch some of the performances. (And a plus, the bathrooms are clean 😁).

This is an incredible park! It's got a Zoo, Art Museum, and an old growth forest with many trails. I spent about two hours just walking around the trails at one point I thought I was lost. I thought if I get lost in the forest in the middle of town, I'm never gonna live it down. Overall this is a hard park to beat. I fantastic way to spend an afternoon.

I was surprised to find such a nice city park with so much to do. Ideal for families with young children - "water area" with fountains to splash around in and cool off on a HOT summer day, a huge state-of-the-art playground (the nicest I've EVER seen in a free city park - it was "Disney quality"!), basketball courts, trails for walking/running, lots of shaded picnic tables, clean restrooms, and much more. They also have a huge Dog Park. Highly recommended for a family with kids visiting Memphis who need a break from the beach for an afternoon.

Very large nice park area with playground, gazebo, pic-nic tables, paved walking and bike trails and some hiking trails too. Lots of parking available, as well as trash receptacles and doggy clean up stations. Very nice park, would def come back.

The finest park in the city, second only to the immense Shelby farms park. The jewel of midtown Memphis. The old growth forest behind the greensward/zoo area are ideal for comfortable, shaded walking or cycling year round. Recent renovations and additions to many park areas are quite nice. Accessible, family and pet friendly. This beautiful, multi use park is made possible by the generous donations and work of the Overton Park Conservancy.

The Memphis Zoo Lights were so awesome. They outdid themselves. You made a magical night for all of us. We booked tickets online. It stated on the website tickets must be purchased online. Which we did. However about half of the people hadn't done that. So it slowed the process a little. And a note to the parents allowing their children to jump or climb on the light displays. Really? You are okay with that? Curb your kids.

Great park in midtown with plenty of trails, bike paths, a zoo, and art museum. One of my favorite places in the area to run.

We went to the Memphis Zoo! It gets better every time we go. The animals , the shows, the sights were great! My grandkids had a blast as usual. They have an armband you can purchase now for $20 and it covers different activities the zoo offers like feeding the giraffes, petting the stingrays and such. Like I said, it gets better everytime we go!! We will be going again!!

There are great trails for walking, running, and biking. There may be poison ivy in the woods so you should probably avoid the smallest trails. Also, there's a nice little dog park, two playgrounds, and a 9 hole golf course (I believe it's free and there are practice greens too). There are dozens of picnic tables, and there are some wide open spaces to play ultimate frisbee or the like.

This is a beautiful park hidden away in the heart of Memphis. It got everything, the zoo, golf course, The Overton park shell, dog park, miles of walking trails and bike path. This is the perfect park for hippies, burnouts and stoners, mid-towners,festival people, school children, dog walkers, tree huggers, vegans, picnics, families, artists.

Amphitheatre, free public golf course, walking trails, multiple playgrounds, open fields, a body of water, a zoo...I mean what else can you ask for?! Yes there are restrooms so bring your hand sanitizer.

Went to an awesome free concert at Overton Park shell. The venue was amazing and family friendly - bring your own food, drinks, chairs and blankets. Also has food trucks and drinks if you prefer to purchase them there. My toddler was able to run dance and play while we relaxed and enjoyed the music. Great acoustics and beautiful stage. Restrooms spotless! An absolute gem.

Amazing park. Huge, a pond with ducks and turtles, walking and biking trails, beautiful golf courses, interesting sculptures and some very exotic fauna (greenery). There is also a gorgeous (architecture of the building and small butterfly habitat) Brooks Museum of Art. I'm not positive there is still a butterfly habitat, but there are still many flowers planted around thw park that attract butterflies. Beautiful park for wedding photos.

Zoo Boo 2020....no candy given out at stations like in previous years...but social distancing was adhered to...really enjoyed ending of grandson's 3rd birthday weekend. Candy given as you exit the zoo. This is fun for the entire family!

Awesome zoo! Well maintained and the animals seem happy. We went during dinos in the park and it should just be included in the zoo price, it's not worth the extra money.

I am so glad to have a place like Overton Park to get out and enjoy the nature. Memphis Zoo is amazing! It is a beautiful place for entertainment and education. The staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They are carefully enforcing safety procedures. Beautiful oasis in Midtown Memphis. United the city. Best Zoo in the U.S. An incredible music venue in the Levitt Shell. A small city golf course that is well kept up. And playgrounds/open space for the kids to roam. Highly recommend centering as many hours as possible around this park named after one of Memphis’ founders. Special credit if you learn about the Supreme Court case in Administrative law that saved the park.
