We stayed in this hotel 4 years ago and did not have a terrible experience so we decided to stay again and I regret it!! Upon first entering the room it was ok. Nothing had been updated since the last time but that was fine. The room looked ok. Not super clean but not dirty either. We have a toddler now so I check everything to make sure it's good for her to get into. I found a drug scale in the drawer with residue still on it. My husband told management and they just moved us to another room. I feel since drugs were found police should have been called but nope. The management came with a housekeeper to "clean" the room again. The breakfast was a joke. Just old cereal with no milk. Nothing else. Shouldn't even offer that on the site. Police monitor the parking lot nightly, probably for drug activity. The bed advertised a queen but was a full size. Hallways smelled of weed all the time with a few shady characters around at all times. We will not be staying here ever again.

The 3 staff we interacted with were very friendly and professional. The housekeeper we saw while checking out is hard working and has a lovely spirit wishing us a blessed day. The bathroom was very clean, water hot, appreciated 2 each of shampoo, conditioner, soaps for a single bed. It was a nice quiet place to sleep right off the highway. Where our room door handle hits the wall, there was damage to the drywall, but that's not a big issue for us. Some other minor aesthetic issues with paint but for the price, it's fine. There are more important problems in life, and most important is the overall cleanliness which we were satisfied with. The sheets were clean but the bed cover had two small stains that seemed like bleach. Breakfast was limited but our check in desk staff let us know - just pastries but all I care about is hot coffee. No liquid creamers - which is normal for all Super 8s we stay in so I was prepared with my own. We aren't picky bougie people so everything was fine for us, price was a good value, and most important that the service was great. We would stay here again!

I was early for my check in, after being on the road all night, and morning. I asked the clerk if I could check in early. She maneuvered things, and wa la, I got into my room. She certainly cared! She didn't have to let me into my room so much earlier than expected. Great staff service. My room is wonderful, and smells very pleasant inside the hotel, and my room. Thank you so very much!

I understood when booking that it would not be the highest quality hotel but I really didn’t expect it to be as in bad shape as it was. The hotel air has that sticky feeling when you walk through the front door. Our room had a broken window which did not lock. The sink handle, came off in my hands and the bed was covered in hair. For the price I paid I expected a little more not much, but definitely not to be sleeping in hair.

Smelled cannabis when you entered the lobby...but our room didn't smell. We also had the fire alarm go off at 2 in the morning. Breakfast not much. No hot breakfast and no toast. But at this price it's ok...

After residing in the nearby hotel for the past handful of months, Suburban Suites, I am now residing at Super 8 under unfortunate circumstances.... I feel very fortunate to have found my way here to Super 8! I have been living in a moldy suite with unbearable plumbing situations and feel I wasted money living in poor living conditions. Super 8 does NOT have an apparent mold smell, and I can actually use my toilet and tub without worrying about backup sewage coming through my tub drain and up through the flooring around the base of the toilet. I have the same ammenties offered at Suburban but now have more options including free breakfast and vending machine items at a more reasonable price! For example, a can of pop used to cost me $2.50 but am now only paying $1!! I have plenty of space here and honestly do not miss having a kitchenette at all! My suite is beautiful, spacious, and extremely well kept! Love having a leather recliner and larger bathroom! Just wish I had come to Super 8 first

The room was clean and spacious. The clerk who checked me in was friendly and helpful. The clerk who checked me out was also friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel.

I hadn't been to this location in 2 years. I actually worked here for 7 years before the current owners bought it, many years ago. They updated some things in the lobby area, the rooms were cleaner than the last time I was there, but overall, not much had changed. I like this location because of the location it's in and I guess nostalgia from being the front desk manager for all those years. I know things change and they don't have to run it by me to do so, but knowing what I do about this business, I was shocked that at 3 am, the price could not be adjusted since I was checking out at 11 am, in 8 hours. Priceline won't let you book a room for the previous day after midnight because technically it is the next day. I tried for a price match as well, but she was not budging. Isn't something better than nothing? It's off season too and the parking lot was pretty empty. I guess I'm surprised because I know what I would have done. I need to remember not everyone is like me...

Obviously, it is not the fault of this establishment (or the clerk who happened to be working the shift), but our stay became very unpleasant due to a tornado touchdown around midnight in the vicinity of this motel. We were woken up by the loud noises, and subsequent blackout in the area caused the rest of our stay just impossible. No hot water for the shower-- I was willing to take a shower using my flashlight, but I wasn't about ready to jump in a cold shower. Due to a blackout, there was no breakfast served. I just wanted some hot coffee and pastry, but it wasn't meant to be. Needless to say, it caused our stay to be totally wasted. To make the matter worse, I didn't find any effort to make things better by the establishment. I felt bad for the overnight clerk who had to deal with unpleasant customers. There was a lot of door slamming, and we couldn't sleep too much after the power went out. It is located just off Rt. 2, and not too far from Rt. 20 and I-90. it's at a very convenient location. There are many eateries in the vicinity for your convenience (when there's no blackouts).

Most everything is average but that’s to be expected, except for the breakfast. Didn’t expect much but this is the worst I’ve ever seen. Only cereal and apples. You should not advertise free breakfast ever again. Where’s the powdered eggs or the make it your self waffles, can I get a banana. Just go to Bob Evans it’s next door.

Rooms smell very very bad. Even running the ac wouldn't help. Floors were very dirty. The table and chair were in a dilapidated condition. Bedsheets and blankets were worn out. Walls so thin, you can hear everything from the adjacent rooms.Breakfast is an absolute joke. Not expecting a breakfast in a budget motel, but if you are going to offer an absolute mockery in the name of breakast, then do not offer it at all.

Some Super 8 properties seem to be a cut above others. This is one of them. I stayed there and wasn't disappointed. The front desk was extremely helpful and assisted me in finding an outlet outside to plug in my electric vehicle. They went above and beyond.

The staff was friendly and accomodating. The location is right off the highway and within close range of many restaurants and shop. The rooms however were something else. They smelled of mildew and marijauna, the bed was positioned in a way that was difficult to see the stationary mounted tv and the sheets were honestly the worst bedsheets I've experianced in a hotel. Very thin cheap amd flimsy. If you dont mind that then it might be worth it for a budget trip otherwise I would look for a much better room.

Basic room is all you need, and this is what you will receive. Room was clean and comfortable, and the price was fair enough. We stay here whenever we are visiting.

I’ve stayed at super 8 multiple times, with my partner, and every experience has been amazing! Staff are extremely friendly and I feel comfortable with them. When I needed extra nights last minute; they kindly helped me, and despite complications, they ensured I got my extra night. Area itself is AMAZING; close drive to cleveland, even ubering isn’t too expensive depending on the time of day. Gas stations are right across the street for small snacks or meals, rollhouse entertainment is literally a parking lot away. Bed is comfortable, but blanket is thin and tough. I’d recommend bringing your own small blanket if you want to be completely comfortable. For any cons, yes it has a distinct smell — but I got used to it. In my opinion, it’s not anything major or disgusting; its just a unique smell. Breakfast isn’t super fancy, and they normally just have big texas cinnamon rolls and juices, but they have vending machines too. In my few experiences with super 8, I’ve seen a few bugs. One on the pillow, a small roach in my rooms coffee machine, a fly, a little bug on the window. The bug in the coffee machine was pretty disgusting, and I personally do not drink coffee, so I asked my boyfriend to kill it and we moved on. But to other people, be wary to check your bed and coffee. The biggest con is the cost has gone up a bit! In conclusion, I think super 8 is a very nice hotel. Yes there are flaws, but you get what you pay for, and the conditions aren’t bad enough where I couldn’t stand it. It’s just a basic, cheap hotel. I overall have a super positive experience with this hotel and would, and have, recommended it to my friends. Thank you to super 8 for a nice place to stay.

The interaction I had with the front desk was very uncomfortable. The lock on our door was off the hinges we had a half of a smoked joint just sitting on our a/c unit when we had a 8 year old little girl. The staff did absolutely nothing about it to compensate that, which I thought was very unprofessional. Just an overall bad stay do not recommend stay here!

No frills place to sleep. Actually a little better than anticipated after checking in. Dated and super dark. Needs more lighting. Bed was actually fairly comfortable. Did you a hand towel to clear condensation off window to see outside and towel basically turned black from dirt.

Stayed 1 night on the first floor. The room was clean, quiet and the bed comfortable. Based on my experience, I would recommend choosing this Super 8 in Mentor for the above reasons and affordability as well.

I've stayed in hotels many years for work but the customer manager at this place is the worst. Had no parking on site so I had to park my vehicle next door until a spot opened up. The neighbors were pounding on the door and being loud at 1am in the hallway so I picked up the phone in my room which didn't work so I had to call the front desk from my cell phone. When I asked to file a complaint the manager made it seem like I was at fault. I drove 17 hours and just wanted a decent place to get some shut eye for a few hours. I suggest spending a few extra bucks to stay somewhere else.

Been here an hour. Don't care how the breakfast is, I've seen enough. This whole place is beyond musty. The room smells like week old socks. I don't trust a square inch of blanket in here. How tf this place is full is beyond me. Lady at the desk was nice, I'll give it that.

The room was dark with the lights on and had a horrible odor. The smell could have been from the old carpet. The walls were dirty filled with bugs and cob webs. The windows were foggy from condensation. We couldn’t take the smell we asked for a refund and went somewhere else. The attendant was outside smoking when we arrived and when we came back to ask for a refund. She was not friendly or inviting. The environment was cold and dreadful. I should have known from the parking lot it was going to be an issue. The grass was uncut there was nothing welcoming upon driving into the property.

Nice location and clean property. Sharmila at the front desk was so polite and professional…. We were so tired when we arrived and she made us feel welcome. Not much for breakfast, only cinnamon roll, but the coffee was delicious. It was quiet and comfortable… all we needed.

My stay here was very calm and had no major issues standing out. The snow was a little bit of a problem in the parking lot, but there's only so much that can be done with that.

Good hotel but the continental breakfast is a honey bun, juice and coffee only- the website did not mention this...

The whole place stinks. I don’t know what that smell is but it is everywhere in this hotel. The bathroom was dirty. Glad my stay was just one short night, in at 11 pm out for 7 am. Gave a 2 because staff was nice.

This place is awesome. Smoking rooms are upstairs but that's okay. Everybody I'd help with the front desk was sweet as they could be. I'll be back

Not a great stay, even for the price. Bathroom door had been punched, and the dent was still there. Various spots in the bathroom were moldy/mildew. AC smelled bad when run. I was in a non-smoking room that smelled like smoke. The hallways smelled like weed. Just not an overall great experience. Clerk who checked me in was friendly, and very efficient. Hotel was close to food, and a family activity center next door. If you smoke, and have pets, and need a cheap place, cool. Anyone else...you have other options.

The front desk clerk was nice and polite. The room was nice when we entered but later on during our visit we had ordered our food and while we were eating roaches started to come out. There were two baby ones on the floor, one small one was crawling on the chair and the other on about the size of bean was crawling on the night stand. If you decide to stay for a night I advise you don’t order food, shake out any clothes or bags before you leave, don’t kill anything of them with your shoes because there’s a chance you might bring them home and wash ur clothes with hot water and dry on high heat.

This was consistently the cleanest hotel I stayed at in the area of several. The staff is excellent. The rooms are nice and comfortable and very well kept and up to date. It's definitely the best pick for the price range in this area. The people at the desk are friendly and professional.

We had the worst experience ever in a hotel and could not believe this was a Wyndham hotel as in the past they were always top notch. We rented two rooms both of which were dirty, debris on floor and under and behind furniture and overall unclean in appearance. Bed was stated to be a queen size but if it was, it was the smallest queen size bed ever. But the worst part is that we discovered a ziplock bag of what appeared to be drugs tucked into the side of the recliner chair in our room. We immediately went to the the desk where we showed them the bag. They took the bag and said that management would be notified and the authorities called and we would be contacted by the manager. They did offer to give us another room which we took as who knows what went on in the room where we found the apparent drugs and/or who may return looking for them! We filed a complaint with Wyndham who sent it to the hotel manager. We asked for a full refund. The hotel responded via email and apologized for the "inconvenience" and offered a 25% discount which we did not find acceptable. Wyndham corporate would not intervene on our behalf. Done with Wyndham and would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
