Merida international Airport is small but sociable. Many people enjoy a meal before or after their flights just outside of security. Note - there is a rapid covid test facility the hours published varied when I was in town in November I think it's 7am to 3.. but I'm not sure. I went to the lab in town and paid less and was able to go in until 7p and also received 30 min results. (Dq medical in the Lafette plaza on p. Montejo). Yes the facility is a stickler for biosecurity due to the pandemic but it's no worse than other airports of its size in North America. For passengers headed to the USA - beware of connecting flights in Mexico City. I've yet to make my flight with a 1 hr layover. And while there are several flights to and from Mexico city... if the gate agent gives your seat away in front of you because you were late go ahead and get in line and be nice to the help desk! If you have less than 2 hours layover in Mexico city, check in early at the baggage area and let ask them to help you get to Mexico city a little earlier. Usually they are pretty nice about it for solo or couples traveling. The better tiendas and cafes are outside the gate areas so plan accordingly. Flights can and do leave a bit early because they can. Once you go through security, my shoes were on, and oops my toothpaste was brand new and full, they will likely go through your bag. It's much easier when it's neatly packed. My gate area (Salida C) has ample charging stations and bar like seating. But I wasn't able to use wifi, and as of this writing my Verizon cell service worked most of the time but they do limit your cellular data... 500mb per day. If you haven't done souvenir shopping there are very elegant shops & the prices normal for an aeroport. I save my $ and go to the 7-11 in Mexico city just outside hall M...sometimes I've been here and used a jet bridge... and other times even once a 2am arrival and we used the steps to deplane onto the tarmac and into the baggage area. Lastly - this airport is freezing! Im wearing pants, long sleeves and a light rain jacket. Happy travels!

It's a good airport not too big but they have enough food and drink and store options for you to enjoy if you have a long wait. The American airlines stations took a long time to get through but everything else went very smooth and fast.

Airport is being remodeled and expanded, very good! Also has more transportation options, there is a public bus that can take you to downtown that is cheaper than a taxi, is just another option.

Great improvement compared to the old airport. Lot of natural light. The layout and the outlets are much better. The only thing missing is the airport Business Class Lounge closed due to renovations. Immigration is slow but the staff are nice and friendly. Nice and clean airport. Lot of renovations going on at the moment

Smallish airport. Security check is quick and efficient. Food Hall with a few dining options. Lady photos are of the lounge mentioned below. Only one Priority Pass lounge here when we traveled (Amex Platinum compatible), which is just after security on the right. Not listed on Google Maps and apparently not allowed to add places in this region yet, so I'm mentioning it here. Not a big lounge, minimal food (tiny sandwiches with little contents, chips, granola bars, etc). Bar area with a few free drink options.

They have almost finished the upgrade to the terminal since we visited in January. Very nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Because we were actually moving to Merida we had everything we owned in the suitcases. They checked them all I suppose because we had a lot of electronics. That was done quickly and efficiently so no problem.

Friendly, civilized, newer, super clean airport, easy to navigate. Inside security: Plenty of good food/coffee, etc., small club (Priority Pass, etc.) while you wait for your flight, as well as a beautiful, small chapel.

Security personel is a joke here: they will make up a reason to take yours sweets from carry-on (solid candies are liquid pasta according to them) and when you point out this doesn't hold up they suddenly... forget how to speak English. Kinda pathetic, yet still expected around this region. They also don't have time to make audio announcement, see picture. Too lazy? Besides that Airport and toilets are clean, foot options are limited but ok.

Clean place, staff are very friendly. As a matter of fact, way cleaner than some of the ones in the states. As for the direction and pace of everything when going from point A to B, pretty easy to follow...however, if you somehow end up lost or confused, I'm not sure what to tell you. Just read the signs, pay attention, learn some Spanish. You should be fine. Ask one of the friendly staff!

Brand new all shiny and clean. Check-in was easy and fast and security was a breeze. One of the better airports around the world. Granted it’s a small airport but there are plenty of small airports. Many in more developed countries than Mexico, bravo viva la Mexico.

Small airport. Many don't speak English so better you are sure they understand what you say. If you expect to find a tourist sim card seller, you're going to get disappointed. The fastest way is to get to the first Oxxo you find and get s card there. There is one every 500m so you will have no issues.

Small airport but got through security and customs quickly. When leaving to go international once you clear security don’t forget to clear immigration. There is a small little booth for immigration. Just show your passport and you’ll be fine. The gate agents will also make an announcement before boarding too.

Nice airport, smooth security, quiet and everything went smoothly. No problems really, we were travelling to Oaxaca so that was nice that everything went well. The taxi could drop us right at the terminal entrance in the dry during a rainstorm

The staff at the airport or the airline VivaAerobus opened my documented luggage and stole a Jade mask and other obsidian handcraft that I bought at Chichén Itzá. They asked me to registered my luggage due to the limited space in the plain, now I’m wonder if the strategy was “to check if something worthy” was there. We usually keep our most valuable items in the carry on, but with these last minute policies it is impossible to be sure that you will keep them safe. I’m so frustrated as I’m travelling from Australia and I won’t have a chance soon to repurchase these objects. I suggest you to be sure that any valuable items fits in your handbag. Don’t think that those items are safe in your carry on, or you may suffer the same fate than me. So disappointed!!

Great airport. Simple enough to figure out where you need to be. Nice staff and helpful. Never seems to be too too busy

Wow, this Airport’s upgrades are fantastic. I was last here in 2020 and the place has been upgraded almost completely. Very clean bathrooms and the new restaurants are fantastic; I think they are upgraded versions of what I loved that they had before. Baggage claim is also really upgraded. Do keep in mind this is still a 10 gate airport but its getting to look amazing with the amenities of much larger ones.

A regional airport, which is currently indergoing some construction to further expand. It’s well connected to the capital CDMX, but not as connected to others as Cancun Airport. The airport is not very big but more importantly, it is very clean and well-lit. There are enough small establishments inside to cater to passengers both arrival and departure. There are taxis and Didi/Uber than can be used to get to the city. But there’s also an ongoing campaign where a bus is running (free of charge only for now) right outside of the Arrivals exit. There isn’t a clear sign except for the words “BUS STOP” drawn on the floor. The bus goes into the city and stops at the new ADO Bus Station Centro Historico (TAME).
