👍👍 This is a really cute spot with great coffee and tea drinks and a small selection of breakfast food and pastries. I loved the vibe and care that was put into creating a welcoming atmosphere with books, art, and a guitar you can take from the wall and play. Our Airbnb was around the corner so it was... I have to say this is one of the best places around I am so glad I found this cozy coffee place. I love the variety and the healthy options as well this shop offers wifi and that’s just perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee while working. Owner is really sweet and friendly! Please if you around the area you have to check this place out.

This place is great! It's pretty new, so not many other customers were met by us there, but maybe it's just because of the Christmas holidays. Anyway, the place is nice, coffee, frappes, desserts are really good. They have coconut, almond and soy milk aside regular wholesome milk. Also non sweetened desserts and drinks. Both english and spanish menu. Good energy vibes. The Cocoa Coconut Frappe is my favorite

Cute small coffee and pastry shop located close to Parque de Santiago. No AC but lots of fans to keep cool. Lots of seating making for a great little hang out spot. Super sweet and patient staff. I ordered a Nutella frappe and a carrot cake. She made a little heart on the plate and that made my day 🥰 Will be back to Fat Cat Cafe!

Everything was great. Very chill spot to hang out for a drink or snack. Our sandwich was really good!

Place is very comfy but a bit small. Coffee and sandwich are good. You can chill, use deck of cards and play guitar. They also sell bags of coffee. They should update their opening hours in Google cause I went a Sunday and it was closed...

Chai latte was pretty watery. I'm not sure if there was any cardamom in it. The equivalent of £3.50 was too expensive, you get better ones in London for £0.30 more. Interior and music was nice. 2 stars for the chilling factor and the friendly owner.

What amazing vegan options!!! Almost every drink can be made vegan, and the banana nut brownie was a work of art. I can’t wait to come back!

Nice little Cafe. Very good lattes and coffee. No AC but does have fans. I suggest going here early mornings or evenings if you are planning on hanging out.

Just happen to found my new chill spot in town. A cute, lovely and atmospheric café run by Wendy with a very sweet and emotional backstory. There's books and even a guitar to play available. Service by Wendy is friendly and top notch, amazing array of drinks. I went back the day after and I'm positive I can return over and over again. Highly recommended.☕

Excellent hot chocolates and fun games to pass the time. The menu is in English and Spanish so everyone can use whichever side they're comfortable with.

This coffee shop is the very definition of why one travels. It is yet another hidden gem in Merida. I am blown away by the quality and consistancy of this town's dedication to healthy ingredients. She has healthy menu options including gluten-free desserts (slay queen!), a fruit plate, as well as organic coffee. It is supurb, we even got coffee grounds to enjoy in our AirBnB! Gato Gordo is a quaint, cozy cafe that is ripe for the discovery of traveler's who enjoy authenticity and personality. Not only is this a cat themed cafe, but the art inside the shop is all done by the owner herself. It's the perfect tucked away spot for an afternoon snack or for remote working in the morning (she does have wifi!). Gato Gordo reminds of the tiny cafes in Florence, Italy. Do yourself a favor and add this to your go-to's while in Merida.

Great chill vibe. You are invited to play the guitar, board games, and told the wifi password upon first entering. They also have a limited brunch menu with omelette or eggs Mexicano that comes with a cafe Americano. Prices are inexpensive. Menu is in Spanish and English.

We went to El gato gordo for a quick breakfast this morning since it‘s close to the bus station. We had iced coffee, lemonade and pancakes and really enjoyed our stay. The cafe has a cute vibe and feels local, the owner was super friendly. We wish we could have stayed longer!
