Great place for drinks, tacos and burgers. Their garganzola pear and fig salad is delicious, chicken in it was perfectly cooked too. We got lucky to catch some contemporary vocal jazz, so it was just chilled atmosphere on Sunday early evening.

Cool jazz bar that takes you to another time. Friendly staff and unique atmosphere. Perfect for russians that are very much into Mexicans.

Like the other reviews say, the music is amazing (I would give five stars to the musicians), the cocktails are good (sometimes a bit too sweet), and the food is average. I disagree with the service being friendly, in my visit one of the waitresses got really rude when I inquired if they have some salty snack besides the olives, like peanuts. I got a condescending and aggressive lecture that this place is a "jazz club" and not a "cantina", and that everything they do is "a la carte" and if it is not in the "a la carte" then it is not possible. This might be true, despite the word "cantina" being written everywhere, but a simple "no, sorry sir" is less off putting. The other male waitress on place was friendlier, because he was drunk, so he kept forgetting orders. Each item had to be repeated at least three times. Finally the female waitress looked really annoyed when I simply rounded up the bill instead of leaving a percentage tip. I guess she was expecting a better reward from having to clean the mess of the other two. All in all, come for the music and stick to ordering just a round of cocktails or beers.

Great bar, good drinks and ambiance. Friendly and efficient staff. The decoration is also beautiful. Definitely worth it if you want to have a good moment. There was a band playing live when we were there. Awesome!

Really nice bar with live music in the evening & a lovely rooftop terrace. It reminded us in general of a pub :) prices are great, drinks are tasty and also the food (we only had hummus) was good. Every evening there is another band playing. If you come by before 7pm you will get a table.

I loved this little jazz bar. The live music was great, the service was exceptional and the selection of craft beer and mezcals made it the perfect night. We ordered the choripan, a chorizo sandwich, and really enjoyed it.

We went to Dzalbay on a rainy Sunday afternoon for jazz at 5pm. No better way to spend a few hours! Our waiter, Frank, was friendly and responsive and they have a great selection of beer, (Mexican!) wine and other drinks. And the music by Daniela Romero was wonderful!!

Cute place. They had live music, very good and friendly service. Drinks were amazing. There is also food - not a lot of choices but good and made it easier for us. Try vegetarian tacos! It was raining so we were sitting inside. But went upstairs to check out the rooftop, nice ambience - not a party type, more intimate and cozy.

An excellent jazz and blues club and cantina. Different group every night. Music starts around 8 but get here early to stake out your spot.

A friend of Charlie’s, Conrad, recommended I visit as a newcomer to Merida. The food if fabulous, the live music was great, the atmosphere was lovely. We sat on the rooftop under the moon and stars and we could still converse. I highly recommend and I’ll be back!!

Really nice little jazz club. Great drinks and good service. Many of the classic cocktails were less than $100 pesos which I thought was really good value and they had some good beers too. Not your typical Mexican cantina but we had a great time!

If you're visiting Mérida you must make at least one visit to Dzalbay. Open 7 days a week it's the place to go to for great jazz, blues and soul music. The drinks are great, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. If you happen to be alone, take a seat at the bar and it won't be long before you make friends from all corners of the world!

Really jazzy cantina with live music and great atmosphere, on the edge of Merida's central district. We spent a fun couple of hours in Dzalbay listening to some local artists and speaking with the friendly bar staff. The quesadillas were delicious. They had a lot of cocktail options which we found to be fine but not brilliant for the price. Staff were willing to recommend spirits and other drinks too. Would really recommend a trip if you want the cantina experience in Merida! Just hope that you stop by on a night with live music.

Great place for live music. The first bar we ever went to in Merida and it has been a fav ever since. Food is good and staff are helpful, but it's the music and atmosphere that keep us coming back.

Love. Absolutely go check this place out. Simply amazing. The music and the staff were amazing. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely a spot I'll be back to visit and a must see for any tourist/expat living local to the area. I promise you won't regret going.

The live music was wonderful. #4stars #Jazz The food & drinks #3Stars Not flattering in taste, and warm. I tried the hummus platter, the vegetarian tacos and the portobello dish (too much cheese). The ambiance, service and energy. #4Stars

The 60s and 70s music was great. Excellent service and a very good selection of local and national beers. The mixed drinks and small dishes were well prepared and promptly served. It would have been another 5 star evening if the leader of the next music group to play had not been rude and confrontational on stage to other musicians and to patrons. He did not seem to like foreigners. I will not return unless I know he will not be there.

It’s basically the best place to hang out a Tuesday night in Merida. Ambiance is great, prices are good, drinks are well served and music is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Drinks, jazz and delish comida! It's the Billie Holiday for me!

Downstairs is an atmospheric, fun jazz bar with good drinks and solid food options - especially if you time it for a style of band that you love. Upstairs is an absolutely stunning rooftop bar with the same good drink and solid food - which also has live music, if you time it right! The perfect place to start a night out in Merida - or to spend a whole one!

The best small live music (jazzbar) great food, very cool spot with roof top area as well. The expresso Martini is awesome! Definitely recommend it!

A really cool place to have a beer on a rainy afternoon, or anytime. This historic cantina is now known as a jazz and blues bar and rates highly for its music and general ambiance. I agree. While I was there music was Latin jazz fusion. It was like stepping back in time. Has a 1950's jazz club vibe. Small, with limited seating at the bar. Good beer selection. Great friendly service. I will return and try their food menu soon. As my friend says "muy suavecita."

Super cool place that plays jazz music. Usually not my jam but I had a great time. They have many craft beers in bottles and one on draft. Food is excellent.
