I've recently visited for the first time and enjoyed both the food and service. The price was also very good. I will return soon! Updating my review because I just went two days in a row! The staff are so friendly. I know a little bit of Spanish and he was kind enough to say some things in English for me. He seems to be learning too 😊 Saturday I got the gorditas de chicharron with piña con Chaya to drink ($85) Sunday I got enchiladas de mole, mango pie and piña con Chaya to drink ($175). He recommended the dessert and said it was his favorite. I'm so glad I tried something new because it's my new favorite!

I had lunch here today and although I didn’t know what I ordered (my Spanish could be better) everything was delicious. The restaurant has a beautiful and friendly atmosphere. I went for the vegetarian lunch since I’ve been eating so much meat lately. It was exactly what I needed delicious and healthy. I highly recommend this local run place. You’ll get plenty of delicious food at a very budget friendly price.

Some of THE BEST FOOD I have EVER had! If you have a chance do not pass this place up. They offer a vegetarian and a “Mexican “ option. Everything we had was outstanding. Probably the best mole I have had. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is beautiful comfortable and cool.

This place is only open on Sat and Sun. 9-6. Walk-in and you don't know if you should wait to be seated or seat yourself. FWIW it's seat yourself. There is no menu after breakfast. I was here for lunch. Insanity that there is no menu in Spanish or English. I had no idea what my options were due to language issue AND FACE MASK. When my plate arrived it was adequate portion. Food was good and fresh, normal for Mexico I think. When I was finished she took my plate and vanished without asking if I wanted desert or my check. I did want desert, but after waiting 20 minutes I gave up and flagged someone else for my check. If i had waited any longer I could have ordered dinner while I was there. Price was 140 pesos. Too much if you ask me. People in mexico dont have that kind of money. Clearly they are targeting gringos with money. Go to a taco stand for half price and better service. There is a router at exit but it was never offered or posted. Whats the point of having wifi if its a secret? More skimpy table napkins also. Bring your own is my advice. I hate napkins that weigh as much as a postage stamp. This place is very unprofessional.

Hidden gem, I found it only because of the travel blogger I follow, otherwise I would never find it..We came early, but they let us in, we ordered breakfast and saw they were preparing it from zero, you can actually see the kitchen ;) Waiting time was long, but worth, food was incredible. We ordered espresso too, but their coffee guy was late to work so we had to wait more than hour. At the end we didnt like it because it was too acid arabica but guy was too nice so he saved the situation. Please go there and support locals, you won't be disapponted.

Quite comfortable, nice full vegetarian meals (for me) as well as daily specials with meat also. Soup, main course, fresh tortillas, black beans, chips and salsa for around $5. Would have lunch there and would not eat again until I was back the next day for lunch. Very filling local Mexican cuisine, not real fancy but just what I like. Lovely people up front and in the kitchen. Full coffee bar.

Owned and operated by a family that does all the serving, cooking, and operation. Really comfortable. Great home-cooked, authentic food. 'Discovered' by tourists, it was full of tourists when we went for breakfast, but still authentic! Really wonderful. There is a different family that takes over the space and cooks dinner, all food from Oaxaca, so we recommend returning for dinner :) EDIT: The drinks! We got 1 of each kind, and every single one was homemade, amazing flavour!

Super yummy breakfast and great coffee! We tried the Huevos Motuleños and the omelet and loved them both. Also the service is super friendly and the atmosphere very good!

I'm so glad I found this tasty morsal just across the street from Mercado de Santiago. The home restaurant is cozy, staff were so sweet. You can enjoy seeing the cooks in the kitchen prepare your meal or sit outside. The food is delicious and affordable.

Quiet little hidden place. Family owned and catered by. Simple but incredibly good. Nothing fancy just authentic. Excellent friendly service. The food is made to order, from scratch. They roast their own coffee. Take your time and enjoy.!

My wife and I found this little place on Google, liked the reviews, and decided to give it a chance. We were not disappointed. The owner (also the one who curated the fabulous Spotify playlist for the restaurant ambiance) is an incredible host who always smiles and treats the patrons with respect and gentleness. The food is made from scratch in the visible kitchen, where we heard conversations and contagious laughter, like the family was having fun making their fantastic food. I recommend this little cozy place for anyone who wants to experiment with homemade food in Merida.

I came here because someone said they had vegan options. Not only did she attend even though they were about to close but she made the enchiladas vegan for me - they were so good, I cleaned the plate. Super sweet service and attention to detail.

We tried this place because of a travel blog and the ratings. Both of us got chilaquillas verde y huevos. Good good good.

The Huevos Motuleños lived up to the hype. Highly recommend. Great service too. Only open on weekends.

Excellent coffee. Only open on the weekends and they will have a wait if you don’t get there early enough. Very homestyle kitchen. Love the outdoor hut table. Great for vegetarians :)

Super tasty, reasonably priced, big portions. You can see the cooking happening in the kitchen. Little bit of a wait for our food to come but it was worth it.

This family-run restaurant in Santiago's heart offers a lovely, simple, and delicious breakfast. Keep in mind, they only accept cash. It's a cozy gem in the neighborhood, well worth a visit!
