Was there for lunch. Popular corner restaurant. Lots of locals, usually a good sign for a restaurant. Fare is Mexican with some very interesting options. Ladies sit near the windows, hand rolling the corn tortillas, which your waiter will bring you a sample of. Bilingual service with menus also available in English. Food was flavorful and reasonably priced.

Very cozy Mexican restaurant! It is very spacious and comfortable, cleanliness and sanitary standards. Good portions, tasty and fast food. Quality service. Everything is in order here. A good choice! Normal prices. Great place to try Yucatan cuisine!

The BEST authentic Mayan restaurant and Yucatecan food in Merida Yucatán Mexico! The handmade tortillas are the best in the city and are a wonderful cultural experience in the restaurant. You actually get to see and even experience making handmade tortillas! The restaurant is upscale and has a great feel of elegance! The whole experience is amazing and something that you will never forget! It’s also a casual restaurant and you feel at home in any attire. The food is authentic Yucatán and Mayan cuisine that’s the best I ever had in Mexico! The staff are unbelievable and the service is amazing! They’re attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable of everything on the menu. This is also a great place for a date, special occasions, and for family gatherings. It’s also perfect for enjoying an excellent meal alone in a great atmosphere. The food is very unique and I loved the sampler dinner dishes. The portions are HUGE and you get some much delicious meat. The conchita is so moist and delicious! It’s the best that I ever had and the tacos, tostadas, sandwich, and pachucas are overflowing with succulent meat! The meats are so moist, soft, and delicious that you can’t get enough. The experience of new flavors on your palette makes your mind swirl with sheer pleasure! The wine, drinks, and beer selection is great. But, the authentic flavored water drinks are the best thing that accompany the traditional Mayan and Yucatecan cuisine. Then the tortillas and the homemade salsa are PERFECT! Just the experience of seeing the tortillas handmade is amazing. But, eating them hot off the grill is something that you must experience! I love this place and recommend it as a must place to eat in Merida Yucatán Mexico!

One of the best places to try Yucatan gastronomy. Was recommended by the local local friend. The service is super quick, but the place had a bit canteen vibe. Other than that it was amazing. Food was just delicious. We took the combo package for 4 people to try different things and definitely would recommend that. Also try their chaya drink, one of my new favourite thing. We also went there for breakfast, for 160 pesos you get fruit plate, coffee, juice and some dish (egg or sth else). Pretty good deal.

This was our first Mayan restaurant. Very nice, upscale restaurant. More for the affluent locals. I ordered these four little bowls from what the menu portrayed. HOLY MOLY, they brought me the largest bowls full of four different Mayan flavors. Incredible. I made these little taco like creations. Turkey, pumpkin, pork seems to be the staple of Mayan cuisine. You have to try it to understand the flavors. I can see why the Mayan's are proud of their different taste. The bowls seriously took up the entire table. The tortillas were fresh and to die for.

Not the best experience and quite bad food. This place was recommended to me by my Mexican friend and indeed, you can see a lot of Mexican people inside that makes you think this is indeed quality food. Unfortunately, the presentation of the food was terrible and sadly, the taste wasn’t there either. The beans provided with nachos looked dry and old and the rest of the food was not good either, with the amount of topping making it impossible to properly eat it half of it ending up on your plate. Additionally, cooks are using microwaves to heat up food which is just unaccepptable for the restaurant with that prices.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It had a great selection of local foods and even had the Yucatan platter "Los 4 Yucas" which had some speciality food for this area.

We came here twice for a taste of Yucatan. The food was good and so were the cocktails. Service is very prompt and accommodating. I ordered tacos turkey and shark which I did not like. They have a English menu if you need. Chicken pibil was very good as was the pescado (fish) fresh made tortillas provided with meals. Recommend the flan the best we had all trip. As you can see it is almost gone before I took the picture.

Get the Chaya drink! If it's one thing you get here, get the drink made from Chaya. I've never seen it in the states. This is traditional Yucatec food so definitely get it while you're here. Cochinita Pibil was great too. If you just want to try everything the just get the two sampler plates like in the picture.

We came here attracted by the humongous number of positive reviews. Given that we expected the best. We were not disappointed. Although it is hard to understand what you are trying to order, using Google translate and the previous reviews' photos you can pinpoint your favourite food. Personally, if you are a meat lover, I would suggest the Lomito. There are two in the menus. Take both 🤣 There are also vegetarian dishes (i.e. los tres mosqueteros) but the amount of food you'll receive is too much for one hungry person. One note: when they say that something is spicy, IT IS SPICY. Do not thrust your ego. You'll get burnt. And it will hurt. For a while. Finally, the waiters are friendly and the prices are definitely high for Mexico but extremely low for tourists.

If you’re looking to eat authentic Yucatán food, this is the right place to try. I got the Pollo Pibil and oh my god, it was delicious, it brought so many childhood memories back. It was so tendered and juicy, it was so good. They also have a lady making fresh corn tortillas which were also so yummy. Perfect atmosphere for a family dinner.

This was a good authentic Mexican restaurant, with amazing flavors, and good portion sizes. Prices were reasonable and ranged from around 100 pesos to a 2 person meal like we tried for around 400 pesos. Definitely recommend.

Brazo de Reina is great! Outside cornmeal is soft and egg is flavorful. Tomato sauce tastes very fresh. Macbipollo not so good - the skin was over baked and super hard to bite. The waitress told me it’s supposed to be like that. But it’s different from what I saw online. Relleno negro - I am not so used to the negro sauce, it tastes like there are sand within the sauce. It’s probably just the spice, but very hard for people like me first time trying it. It’s a new experience for sure. Not saying it’s not good at this restaurant. Love the Hand made tortilla and the Chaya con Lima drink!

Conveniently located next to a parking structure with fair rates and safe parking. La Chaya Maya did not disappoint! The food was delicious and flavorful. We ordered the Papadzul, the Panuchos, and a vaporcito. We also had the Horchata and Agua de Chaya con Lima (do not skip this). Absolutely delicious we will come back!!

Fantastic amazing food. Quality of ingredients is second to none. Flavors were off the charts. Selection made me dizzy and to hell with etiquette, I grabbed a piece of bread and soaked up every last bit of wonderful sauce on my plate. Tonight I think the waiter could have used a bit of help on the floor, but he was professional and clearly working hard. Bravo!

Having been recommended this place by a walking tour guide and our hotel owner, we thought we’d give it a try. It has a broad menu covering all sorts of regional dishes, but we thought the food itself was distinctly average. We’ve had a lot better elsewhere, significantly cheaper! It feels a lot more like mass catering rather than home cooked food.

Honestly I think this place is overrated. The quality has gone downhill. The dips with the chips were the best part of the meal. As well as the Chaya lime drink. We shared the sampler plate for two and the food was just so so.

Best margarita’s, I had to have two. The food is ok. I ordered papadzule because i dont eat meat. It was OK but it just felt weird eating so many chopped up eggs in one dish. The guacamole was downright strange tasting, not like any guacamole I ate before. No bueno.

For Yucatan cousine Google Maps suggested this. Small queue by the entrance means normally that food is good in not a fancy place like this - people queue for the food, not just for the experience. Lime soup was delicious, even if it take two spoons to get used to concept of chicken broth with lime for a Polish person 😃 Poc Chuc was nice and tasty, but without 'wow' effect. I will try other types of taco next time instead of this, since here they offer quite huge variety 😃 if we would be in Merida longer than one day, I would come again.

This is a very special place and a must visit to anyone travelling and wanting to try authentic Yucatan food. From the outside it might look like a tourist trap, but it was full of locals and was one of the best meals we had in Mexico! We had the crema de chaya soup (unbelievable, a must try) the tzic de venado (v good deer) and pan de cazon (dog fish & tortillas), the flan (ridiculously yummy) and some great drinks all for around £40.

Loved the food! Ordered two different dishes and I’m not sure which one I liked more. That’s a good thing! I really wonder if there is a bad choice on the menu. Super soft selection of bread was served as an appetizer. Loved it so much I could have ordered more. The only thing I didn’t like was the small space. I mean really small. I think they had 5 or 6 tables and we sat at the bar. The tables were tightly spaced and wayyyyy too close to the door to enjoy your meal.

Very enjoyable dining experience. I’m not a big fan of pasta, but there were several pasta offerings that sounded so delish that I was tempted to order them. My friend had lasagna and received a huge piece. She said it was terrific. I had a small caprese salad, which was so good I wanted to lick the plate, and a chicken and brie panini, which was big and delicious. There are several versions of Oliva restaurants in Mérida, and I will soon be trying the one near City Center, close to where I live.

(Translated by Google) A cozy and unique place in Mérida, there is only room for a few tables and chairs at the bar, so try to go early to get a place, the restaurant opens from 7 pm Monday through Saturday. From 8 to 9 are the busiest hours according to Google. The kitchen is open, if you take the bar you can see how each dish is prepared in front of you. The menu is extensive, there are entrees (antipasto), raw dishes such as carpaccio, tartaras, Paninis, Salads, ravioli, first-time pasta and specialties. Each food is prepared at the moment so it may take a while for your dish to leave. Being a small restaurant the drinks menu is limited too, there are from national beers, red and white wines, lemonades, oranges, water and soft drinks. About the food in my opinion they are very good is one of the restaurants that I usually frequent in the city. I must mention that they do not always have the same quality, I think it is because of the rotation of staff in the kitchen, nothing serious that can drastically change the taste of the dish, but the quality may not be the same the day you visit it and differ with My review The best in my opinion are as entry would say Mozzarrella di Bufala, Green Salad, Amatriciana or Carbonara pasta or De la Nonna or Cicciotella or La Mora al mare any of them for me has a guarantee of flavor, as Raviolis would take Il Capretto, eye what I say just to mention a few options I've tried, dare to try other menu items like paninis or other pastas. For desserts there are some Italian specialties such as Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, Affogato al café and others not as Italian as Creme Brulé and chocolate cake. The price for two people is about 500 to 700 depending on how many drinks they order and if they include entrances and salads.
