This is to date the best restaurant I've eat at in Merida. The place is gorgeous, service top notch and more importantly the food is incredible. Every crumb of your meal is cared for an optimal experience, absolute piece of arts on your plate and firework on your palate.

Worth the price tag even though the price was a lot higher than when we first booked it months ago; so many great dishes and culinary surprises during our tasting menu. Drink pairing was good too. Rightly in the list of best restaurants in Mexico. We would definitely come back for these great dishes.

Amazing place! I really like the idea of implementing traditional cuisine into modern. Also, supporting local communities deserves appreciation.

Beautifully preserved colonial building. Service was slightly uptight. Reservation needed (not able to accommodate walk-ins even though the restaurant was completely empty at that time, because everything was fully reserved.) The a la carte menu was disappointing. (Maybe I should have tried the tasting menu?) Hits: - Cochinita pibil tacos (solid 👍) - Ceviche (love the high acidity) Misses: - Elote (huge portion, underwhelming flavors, mayonnaise was too sweet for me) - Beef tongue tostada (greasy) - Octopus (grateful that they tried to make this dish gluten-free for us by not frying it. But the end result was soup, while I was expecting a crispy grilled octopus) - Steak (bland meat. The side of potatoes and sausage was good though) The mismatch of my expectation versus what was served definitely added to my subpar experience. But the food quality did not taste “fine dining” to me.

This place is the place to eat high quality food in Merida! I truly enjoyed it. Highly recommended! If you this is your first time in Merida and you want to pick a top fine restaurant, this is the place to pick.

Good service overall. The chicharrón de pulpo was amazing. Some of the other dishes (Pato pibil and beef ribs, for example) were lacking. Some of the flavors seemed to clash a bit instead of complementing each other. A combination of 4 entrees or appetizers is enough for two people.

The food was amazing. We had the tasting menu with the beverage pairing. There were about 21 different tastings, and 5 different drinks. It's a different experience and every course is bursting with flavors. Highly recommend. There were 2 courses that I tried and could not get past the texture, and 1 course my husband could not either. However, others loved them so it's mainly personal preference. Try everything and be open to new flavors, textures, and experiences!

Fantastic restaurant - great to experience such high quality Mexican cuisine. The tasting menu was fantastic - with the slight exception of the sea snail course (which tasted and looked like Gatorade jelly). The smoked corn was a highlight. All together - an excellent meal in lovely surroundings. Despite the one bad course, still 5 Star.

Really nice and elegant venue. The ambience was very cozy and fancy. Staff was polite, friendly, and not too pushy. They had a 12-course menu and also individual dishes. I recommend the corn with mayo as an appetizer and the octopus as an entree. Beef rib was kind of blend (not enough salt and flavor). Lemon merengue was a good choice for dessert. The complimentary homemade bread was good. Drink menu was a bit expensive, and the one I had with mezcal was average. Decent wine selection by the glass. Overall an upscale place to have dinner in Merida.

KUUK is definitely one of the if not the best fine dining restaurant choice of Merida. The building is beautiful and that beauty carries on to the inside. We loved the simplicity of the decoration and the lighting was perfect. The menu was so nicely put together with choices of international flavors with Mexican twist. The taco were exceptional and highly recommended. Please see pictures. For what the place offers its a bargain and I am happy and honored to take such a nice memory back home.

I really wanted to like this place, especially after reading all the positive reviews. Rather disappointing and left us feeling a bit ill. Ordered three starters and one entree to share. Entree was the strangest — we ordered smoked shrimp and it came out as what appeared to be boiled shrimp in a bowl of cheese fondue (with tortilla chips for scooping). Lovely space and staff. But meal was a total miss. We didn’t even bother ordering dessert. Perhaps the lesson learned is do the tasting menu or nothing else. But I don’t think I’d give it a try after this experience.

The ten course tasting menu was amazing and without a doubt the culinary highlight of our stay in Merida. There’s little sense in reviewing each of the ten dishes individually, but my personal favourites was the lamb, very closely followed by the corn dish (served as the second starter). I didn’t opt for the drink pairing, but instead had a few glasses of wine. That worked out nicely. To complement the desserts, I went for the “habanero infused mezcal cocktail - I’d definitely recommend anyone to try that cocktail (regardless of whether you have the tasting menu).

Old mansion in the heart of Merida.Filling history and spirit of the previous owners.Polite waiters. Like it. According to the photos in google not expected to leave full. But …surprised.Meals not look like small. Duck and salat for appetizers was not bed. Octopus and shrimps perfect,no questions. Once again, portions is big enough. Restaurant has sample menu and most of the pic from there. P.S You never be overcharged:) See pic:))

If you are in need of great environment, food that is AMAZING, and SERVICE that is THE BEST… look no further than Kuuk! People say the servings are ‘micro’… simply not the case! The ‘food fusions’ are UNBELIEVEABLE! Just when you think, ‘There’s no way these pairings will work,’… think again! Hands down… best restaurant we’ve ever been to! You MUST go here!!!

The food here is a feast for all your senses. It was such a joy to dine at a place that takes such care of where they source the food, the stories they share about the food, the love made preparing the food and attention to every detail from service to the amazing cocktails! The building itself is breathtakingly restored. My partner and I ordered the tasting menu and you won’t regret it but it is expensive (on par with US prices). It was 10 courses with some bonuses. Each course was beautiful crafted and shared a part of maya and yucatecan culture. The tortillas are beautifully embossed and these were the best esquites I have ever had!! The menu rotates some courses regularly so you can go back and enjoy it again. I loved the plating! It was creative, colorful, playful and diverse! All the important components to make a meal exceptional. Each course told a story. I will share pictures because I cannot describe it in words. Because the tasting menu didn’t come with panuchos, we order a la Cart cochinita pibil panuchos. These are the best we have had anywhere in the whole peninsula and they are surprisingly affordable. It was around $200 for 3 filling panuchos. You can easily pay that much at many touristy places in centro but the quality here is much higher. The a la cart menu is a much more affordable way to enjoy this incredible dining experience. The cocktails are 🔥! Definitely don’t skip them. They are original, take an artistic spin on classics with local ingredients. We sat outside of the back terrace but the whole restaurant is located in a villa. It has all these beautifully restored rooms and you can choose to sit in any of them. What made our experience at kuuk truly special was we were offered a tour of the kitchen and also the “lab” and library where they recipe test and create! I don’t know how common this is but worth asking. We were the last people at the restaurant that night so they were just closing down for the night. We are foodie enthusiasts and they obviously noted that and made our dining experience extra special!

What a beautiful experience! A typical Merida mansion restored to its original glory and utilized as a restaurant.... Complete with a bar area and separate rooms to keep the dining experience more private and personal. Then there's the food.... Incredibly creative dishes served with stunningly perfect presentation. For example, a dish made to resemble a Yucatan cenote! Incredible. Very tasty, unusual dishes and yet reasonably priced for such high-end gastronomy. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We will return so we can try the tasting menu! For a memorable dining experience, you MUST try K'u'uk in Merida.

I do understand that we are having a hard time right now. So we decided to patronize a restaurant near our home in Merida. This was the absolute waste of 500.00 usd for two persons that I have experience in this town. I really hate to give this review but it is well deserved. We had a 1:30pm reservation and arrived at 1:30 to be told they do not open until 2:00pm. We made the reservation through Open Table which they are a member. We also did the full tasting with the wine paring. What a joke! Just don’t do it. There are so many good restaurants in Merida. This is the third time we have tried it. Three strikes and your out! Sorry

Nice setting and good food in huge potions. The maitre d was weird though - I started with how I have a reservation and the first thing she asked me was if I have a reservation. Then later we asked for sparkling water, and she said OK, came back later and asked if we wanted still water.

This is absolutely the best fine dining experience in Merida, no questions asked. The whole experience from the beginning to the very end was an absolute joy and delightful journey. Chef Pedro Evia make sure that your visit brings you to aspects of culinary map of Yucatan and Mexico where all the flavors are gathered for you to experience the essence of Mexican-Mayan food in the modern way. We chose the tasting menu for our dinner and that was absolutely a great choice. All the moments were delicious and very surprising, the connection of the flavors was ideal. We are very avid fans of octopus and we agreed that their Pulpo was most likely the best we had so far. The Panal de Mieles which was a first dessert introduction was a flavor blast, it brought us back to the flavors of childhood. We enjoy the dinner with wine and drinks which were also of very fine quality. I really loved the idea where after the dinner you get the tour to the kitchen and their lab so you can see how the team create their dishes and how the particulars ideas are created. We had a chance to talk with the chef who was in the restaurant and that made everything ideal. If Kuuk gets its Michelin star shortly I will not be surprised as they are absolutely on the star level.

We spent our last evening in Mérida with a 21 course degustation dinner with paired drinks at Kuuk. The experience was amazing, each single dish is different and all are delicious. Although the individual dishes are snack-sized, you will end up quite full and more than a little tipsy. Actually, two or three dishes less would have improved the experience. Five desserts of which four are based on ice cream were not really needed. The drink pairing is well worth the price, the drinks are excellent and blend perfectly with the food. The staff is very friendly and attentive. All in all, an absolutely amazing evening out.

So disappointing. This place has the prices of a high-end establishment but unfortunately neither the food or the service to match it. It almost brings tears to my eyes to think that we could have eaten five times at e.g. Apoala for the 6,000 pesos we paid for two people.. The food at Ku’uk is okayish and focuses on local cuisine, which was interesting. We had the tasting menu where nothing was really bad and nothing blew our minds. However, a few starters were cold in the center like they just came out of the fridge which is such an easy thing to avoid... The wine pairing was very disappointing and consisted of a beer, three wines (rosé, white and red) from the same winery (Casa Meduro) and a dessert wine from France. Seem awfully coincidental that Meduro’s three 2019 wines just incidentally happened to pair well with the food and unfortunately it didn’t really turn out to be the case either (a light rosé to go along with a very overpowering black sauce??). The service was a let down. The welcome indifferent. No tablecloth (fair enough) and paper napkins (why?). Presentation of food was rushed. The real let-down was the wine service. We kept being served our pairings way too early or after we had eaten half the dish they were supposed to go along with. The red wine was served ice cold which is just unforgivable - how can a place with these prices make so simple mistakes..? The waiters also kept forgetting to refill water as well as kept forgetting whether we preferred still or sparkling (asked three times).. What this place has going for it is the mansion thy the restaurant is located in, which was genuinely cool.

Went with large group. Fixed menu. Slow service. Asked for non-red meat or octopus option (happy with poultry or fish) but was given only option of leafy salad for main course. Unacceptable. Settled for just appetizer and dessert yet was charged for main course. I would have gladly paid extra but no attempt to find something for me to eat. McDonalds next door.

It was a fun dining experience. Not sure if the tasting course is the best cost/performance (they also do alacarte, but we did like every single course, which is rare for us. The best tasting course, spoiler alert, was probably either the venison or the octopus. Don't expect service on par with fancy restaurants in other parts of the world though. The service definitely was not bad, but it was not good either (e.g. no serving everyone at the same time, a lot of bumping plates on table, not good at recommending drinks, etc.). We would definitely go back if we are in Merida again. We might even go back during this trip; who knows.

The tasting menu is surprising and tastes are new but unfortunately too special for Europeans. Too much corn in the recipes, we saturate quickly. We did not love, sometimes not liked the dishes. The presentation of the dishes is very neat and beautiful. The tasting menu is very expensive for the result. Very good cocktails. The service is very good and worthy of a star in France. The kitchen tour at the end is very nice and the bar room is very beautiful. In summary, too original in taste for this price. Le service est très bien et digne d'un étoilé en France. Le tour en cuisine à la fin est très sympathique et la pièce du bar est très belle. En résumé, trop original en goût pour ce prix.
