This
was
my
3rd
inpatient
surgery
at
Methodist
(Southlake)
and
I
can
honestly
say
that
this
was
my
worst
visit
out
of
the
3
(8/28-8/30/23).
My
surgery
was
successful,
BRANDY
the
nurse
was
an
ABSOLUTE
favorite
of
mines/my
family
(she
deserves
a
raise
ON
TOP
OF
a
raise,
you
can
tell
that
she
loves
her
job),
the
Pastor
who
visited
my
room
to
pray
with/over
me,
the
maintenance
man
(I
think
his
name
was
Fred),
and
my
doctors/surgeons
were
THE
ONLY
parts
I
enjoyed
and
didn't
have
issues
with
during
my
visit.
Prior
to
my
surgery
date
I
was
told
by
a
member
of
my
doctor's
staff
that
it
should
be
ok
that
my
15
yr
old
stayed
with
me
during
my
stay
at
Methodist.
The
night
of
my
surgery
my
mother
and
daughter
stayed
overnight
with
me.
Because
I
didn't
feel
comfortable
with
leaving
the
day
after
surgery,
I
asked
to
be
approved
to
stay
another
night
by
my
Dr
for
observation...he
approved.
My
mother
had
to
leave
but
my
daughter
stayed...I
thought
this
was
ok
being
that
nothing
was
said
the
prior
night,
my
daughter
is
a
known
quiet/mature
kid,
and
prior
to
my
surgery
I
made
it
clear
that
I
probably
wouldn't
have
another
option.
I
had
a
serious
surgery
so
I
was
still
sore
and
uncomfortable
afterwards
so
I
was
advised
by
the
Dr
and
nurses
to
walk
to
help
alleviate
my
pain.
Upon
the
shift
change
on
the
2nd
night,
and
for
the
first
time
during
my
visit,
two
nurses
made
a
fuss
about
my
15
yr
old
daughter
staying,
their
boss
(I
think
that's
who
he
was)
was
called,
and
I
was
told/threatened
that
DCFS
would
be
called
on
me
if
I
didn't
have
someone
to
get
my
daughter
IF
an
emergency
took
place
and
I
was
forced
to
sign
a
makeshift
letter
(that
I
didn't
get
a
copy
of).
My
daughter
nor
I
was
disrespectful,
unruly,
or
irate
THE
ENTIRE
TIME
of
my
visit
or
during
the
chastising,
I
was
honestly
too
shocked
to
say
or
do
anything
other
than
comply
and
shake
my
head
as
everything
unfolded
right
before
my
eyes.
OUT
OF
FAIRNESS,
I
understood
the
protocol
in
which
they
had
to
cover
themselves
because
of
possible
liability...
But
what
REALLY
didn't
sit
well
with
me
was
their
deliverance.
I'm
30+
yrs
old,
FULLY
grown,
but
to
have
a
person
clipboard
in
hand
with
the
nurse
standing
firmly
next
to
him,
"in
a
chastising
tone"/like
I
was
a
little
kid,
tell
me
IN
FRONT
OF
MY
CHILD,
while
I
was
standing
up
in
pain,
pillow
on
my
stomach
and
all,
that
the
State
will
be
called
was
COMPLETELY
and
SHOCKINGLY
UNPROFESSIONAL.
They
could
have
changed
their
tone
and
talked
to
me
in
the
hallway
(I
was
in
the
process
of
walking
anyway,
the
nurse
knew
this)...
After
this
altercation
the
nurse
didn't
come
back
in
my
room
to
check
my
vitals.
I
woke
up
in
pain
around
3
or
4am
(instantly
realizing
no
one
came
in),
so
I
paged
the
nurse's
station
for
pain
medicine....THAT
was
the
next
time
I
saw
her
since
8-9pm
(it
seemed
this
was
intentional).
After
that
I
don't
recall
seeing
her
again,
then
there
must've
been
a
shift
change
because
a
new
nurse
named
Anne
came
in.
Dietary
were
serving
me
trays,
LITERALLY
putting
the
new
tray
on
top
of
the
old
trays
(not
caring
or
taking
the
old
trays
until
the
next
serving
time),
I
was
supposed
to
have
a
liquid
food
plan
but
they
just
gave
me
what
they
wanted,
and
my
transporter
BARELY
assisted
me
when
taking
me
to
x-ray
because
he
had
2
hours
left
in
his
shift.
Methodist
is
usually
a
peaceful
safe
haven
to
me
when
I
have
to
stay
(it's
actually
my
2nd
favorite
hospital),
but
THIS
visit
had
MANY
hiccups.
I
hope
that
a
refresher/training
course
on
professionalism/patient
handling
will
take
place
before/if
I
have
another
stay/visit
here.
If
it
wasn't
for
the
pre-surgery
nurses,
my
doctors/surgeons,
Nurse
Brandy,
Fred
the
maintenance
guy,
the
pastor,
and
my
family
I
would've
been
looking
for
another
hospital
to
venture
in
the
future.
Because
my
good
visits
outweighed
this
bad
one,
I
may
visit
again.
I
just
feel
that
SOMETHING
should
be
said
or
done
so
this
won't
happen
to
me
or
anyone
else
again.
All
of
this
is
why
I
gave
3
stars.
I
honestly
forgot
the
name
of
the
nurses
and
the
man
they
called
but
I
remember
their
faces.
Sorry
about
this.
