We were really excited to have a good coffee and piece of cake after a long hike, so we were kind of hungry. We ordered the dirty pumpkin and dirty nougat, but we didn't have any coffee flavor. The banana bread was good if you were not looking for something sweet. It took them more than 15min to bring the drinks, and around 10min late, she brought the pieces of cake. In my opinion, it doesn't make a lot of sense to bring things separately.

Great little coffee spot. I only wish they were open earlier. When I want a coffee or a Latte, or realise that I'm outa beans it's first thing in the morning necessity, and you guys don't open till noon :/ Seems to me like you're missing out on prime hours! :) (I ran out of beans yesterday... and just checked to see if you're open and your not. Jeff is sad)

We heard good things about this place and so we stopped by. We wanted to order at the counter but were told to just sit down and that we will he served. We waited a long time and only got asked for our order when the waiter went to another table. After that we sat there for another good 15 minutes until the waiter saw us again and told us that the order is ready in a moment. As you can see on the picture we ordered 2 drinks. They were serving people at the counter all the time while we waited, so it was not the issue that making the coffee took so long but that we were forgotten. In the end we got served a below average latte macciato and a near disgusting dirty pumpkin latte. Would not go here again and would not advice anyone else to.

It’s my third time at 5 Senses and the coffee is very good , tasty. I recommend the zucchini cake , so yummy and healthy . They are following the trend of the current day. On sunny day , you will enjoy to set outdoor and have your coffee . On rainy day it’s so cosy indoor .

Sloooow table service. Cafe not even full but it took 10 minutes to even take the order and another 10 minutes for one coffee to arrive. However... Friendly staff, well prepared organic coffee, nice selection of quality cakes and snacks. Kids' table with toys and beautiful solid wood furniture. Oh...and two parking spots outside. 👍

Truly a neighborhood haven with lovely staff. Coffee was superb. Dessert was ok, perhaps jello top and cookie bottom cakes are new to me.

I stumbled upon this place on google so I wanted to try it. I am a frequent coffee shop goer and wanted a nice place to sit and eat and have good coffee. I am studying abroad in Freiburg and also needed a good homework spot and so far, this one takes the cake. The mini brunch was amazingly delicious as well as the black coffee. The staff was also amazing and spoke clear English. I was checked on by 2 different servers which is a rare find in the states. If I ever make it back to Freiburg, this place will be my first visit for good brunch, coffee, and a place to chill.

I have no idea if the coffee is any good, because it is taking way too long to get my drink. I'm starting to get hungry....

I really don't understand why claiming you have wifi, when everybody knows you don't. Just say you don't want to have wifi so people won't count on it and keep playing the game of "let's try to make the wifi work..." Both branches locations say they have wifi, but locations don't. for months. (Great vegan desserts btw)

I love here. All staff is so kind and friendly. First time I came here I ordered one small size Cappuccino and vegan chocolate cake. Those are amazing. Second time, I wanna try another, so I ordered chai tea latte. It was also fantastic !!!! Come again soon

Excellent service and the vegan cakes are a hit! And the daily soup (lentil)... my gosh... it was delicious! So we had dirty spice pumpkin latte, cappuccino, the deliciously almond cake (chocolate in disguised 🥸) and vegan indian soup 😋 yum! So happy we found this place. BTW, 1. we were positively surprised to hear that the cake was even gluten free (it was seriously delish). Nice! 2. The Chai was too sweet. Since it's home made, I would recommend to have it much less sweet so ppl could choose how sweet they like it. 3. Atmosphere is super cozy and coffee is great.

Best coffee in Freiburg, good selection of cakes - only issue that service can be very slow (not a one off) - so getting a coffee can take 30min. They should employ four staff on busy days (not three), or expand kitchen area towards the door. I don't know what actions have been taken to reduce waiting times etc but, again, waited 20 minutes before deciding to leave. There must be a better solution, otherwise will lose return custom, which would be a real shame.

A really, REALLY great café. I'm originally from the US and have lived in Germany for almost two years, and it seems like this café has a fantastic way of catering to the local community, to students, and to families. The space is well organized and designed, their roastery concept is flawless, the coffee is some of the best that I've had while in Germany. Everyone who works in the establishment is friendly, all of the products are fairly priced (and many are fairly traded!), it's an overall fantastic experience. Even if you're only in Freiburg for a few days, making a stop here is completely necessary.

Went in only for a quick visit to buy some bottled drinks. The cashier was nice, friendly and spoke perfect English too.
