Unfortunately we didn‘t have such a nice experience in this restaurant. The owner was were cold and didn‘t make a lot of effort to communicate with us. I tried to talk in Portuguese but he was very impatient. The food was ok but nothing special. We won‘t return.

We had soup and grilled cod. The food is really homemade and the portions are good. One portion of cod (13€) and soup was enough for 2 people. In total we paid 22€, including a bottle of wine and coffee.

Really enjoyed the food there! We were staying two nights in Mesão Frio and had dinner there twice as it was so delicious :) Dinner for two persons with a wine bottle, water bottles and starters (on the house) only cost us around 30€. On the next day we also had dessert in addition to the above. There we didn‘t got to pay more than 40€. I would really recommend going there!

Portions are massive. Service was efficient despite only two guys serving a full restaurant. Desserts looked good but we didn't have space for them.

Great value! the first day we had dinner there, it was so good then we decided to have lunch again the next day, we tried lamb and pork and veal chop, they all delicious and big portion. It is the best food quality ratio during our trip in Portugal and Spain. Even though they charged a little more than it shows on the menu, we still get better value than in other restaurants.

The food was extremely good. Tasty, big portions, and very cheap. I give 5 stars because of this and the fact that service was very fast, however the owner and the guy serving were very very rude, even when we tried to be kind and praise the food etc. still recommend it but don’t expect a smile ;)

Delicious food in a lovely town. Great place to stop for lunch when doing a drive along the Douro River. 🥰

Very unfriendly and rude service, so different from other places in this area. Food was very greasy. Refrigerated food was left on the side, glass, cutlery and bottle tops just dropped and left on the floor. Disappointing.

Amazing restaurant. Food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. We had the Naco de Vitela and was really well served and plated. Would definitely return 😁👌
