The Windermere Hotel is misrepresented by their postings on-line. It looked like an abandoned hotel and was housing homeless. There was a crisis center on the property. Our hotel room had an old foam bed that was well worn and we ended up with back aches in the morning. The couch had a urine stain, floors were dirty which left us with dirty feet, no hot water for a shower, shower curtain was missing and the room had an unpleasant odor. This hotel should be condemned and we spent $627.68 (non-refundable) for two nights based on really nice online pictures showing the property as being well manicured with nice rooms and accommodations. It could not be further from the fact! I can’t even give the hotel a one star rating but had to in order to post my review. In addition, the lobby has been shut down (don’t expect a free breakfast as advertised) and the pool has not been available to guests for over 3 years according to the employee who checked us in. Furthermore, the courtyard was overrun with weeds and many of the inhabitants kept staring and watching us which made us feel uncomfortable. I recommend avoiding booking a room at this hotel!

I have stayed here multiple times within the past year or 2. I have never had any issues with a room, never had a bad experience with a staff member. My stays have always been the best. The staff up front are always amazing when accommodating me as well as maid service! Thank you yall! Photos attached of my basic king size suite.

It was clean, neighborhood not so great, no coffee pot in the room, no coffee in the Lobby. No Breakfast as advertised, pool and jacuzzi both closed. Worked for a quick over night, would not stay more than a night here. For $180.00 they could at least have instant coffee, LOL.

STOP!! Do not stay here!! this is the most awful place we’ve ever seen in our entire life. We booked online through Priceline, pictures looked great, we paid for three rooms. We pulled up to the place and we were horrified at the condition of the place. CBI vehicles in the parking lot. Shady looking people walking around. Lobby was closed, and pool was closed. Come to find out, it’s a drug addiction recovery center. This place is filthy. We refused to stay there. We ended up paying a fortune for last minute other hotel booking. The manager will not refund us the money. They ripped us off. Priceline refuses to refund us the money. We wonder how many people got ripped by this place. I can’t believe they are getting away with it. The District attorney should investigate and prosecute these people.

Booked this hotel January of 2023. We arrived at the hotel, paid, and went to your room. The room smelled bad, there was trash on the grounds, there were some rough looking people just hanging out, a woman in a red dress and high heals was walking off the property, and there was a police car stationed in the parking lot. Putting all this together, my GF was not feeling safe. I immediately went to the office and told the lady working we changed our mind about the stay. She said she couldn't refund my money. My GF took a stronger approach and they offered an upgrade (I used that term very loosely). The room smell wasn't any better and we still didn't feel good about our safety. Still no refund. We left the property. I denied the charge on my card. Windemere disputed and still charged me for a stay that never happened. I don't see how a hotel can hold a person hostage. Doesn't seem right. If you decide to stay here, drive around the premises before you book. They will not give your money back.

The Price was reasonable. The sheets and blanket clean. No breakfast, no pool, roaches are hiding under the bath/jacuzzi tub. Seal up your food items. Homeless people living here were nice enough. It was quiet got good sleep..This spot needs a new plan as the property has much potential.

BEWARE: The moment we checked in the lobby smelled horrible. Requested a refund immediately to secure alternate accommodations and was denied. Police activity our entire stay. Room was wide open upon arrival. Room smelled like animals. No hot water whatsoever. Roaches running across the floor. Piles of cigarette butts outside our door. Under construction. No pool. No spa tub. Nothing that was advertised - No amenities. No breakfast as described. No soap. No clean towels. No wifi. Floor was so filthy that everything that touched it turned black. Shower curtain was tension rod and immediately fell down upon opening. Stay away!!

Bed bugs, and roaches. Had to leave all my belongings and start over. They do have a hot box there to rid your clothes of them but that is embarrassing. Other than that rooms are big and they have a balcony upstairs which was nice, with a little fridge. Pricing is pretty decent. Good luck. FYI bed bugs were red and microscopic. Getting bit sucked.

This place is a dump! I was afraid to get out of my car. I approached the hotel to see several people hanging out and I felt very unsafe. No lobby to enter looks like it’s been closed for years. No pool no breakfast signs on the door. I immediately got back in my car moved to a safer location and called Priceline to complain. They didn’t help me at all. I never stayed I still had to pay. Police on site nothing on the website was as it seemed. The worst place I’ve ever seen. Do not book this place it’s beyond terrible!!

It was not worth $220. The picture were extremely misleading. The pool and breakfast were closed. The floor was filthy and sticky, the phone was broken, and online we were lead to believe it was only $83, and there was no sign saying that they didn’t match online price, nor was there any sort of sign or paper displaying the actual prices. I didn’t find out the real price until after I got a bank notification telling me the price. The location isn’t as bad as people say it is, but its not the best. Lastly, the beds were alright, but the sheets were sort of thin which I can forgive. I never turned on the tv but it looked in good condition, therefore I’ll assume it worked. If you’re looking for a place to rest and strapped for cash, just go somewhere else.

I didn't hate it but a lot of our group did. It was not fancy. No grass anymore. And the pool is closed as is breakfast and the entire main lobby. The kitchenette was okay but no dishes or coffee filters.

Room was big, hard floors, refrigerator, microwave, blowdryer, iron, roaches, large tub that was great. People upstairs woke me up a few times. Slept OK only seen a couple roaches. the huge tub was great. For the money $80 $50 returnable. Double queen beds I'd recommend this place. Last time I got a room here came with its own pet. A cool cat all black it left on its own ofter I left door open.

I went to check in, after booking and paying through agoda. Room was paid in full, I arrived and they wouldn't accept tap to lag wjth my phone. Wouldn't accept any cards I had and wanted the $50 dollars deposit. That I couldn't pay becasuse they wouldn't let me, with the debit cards I had. Said they don't except them. Ok. So I have to leave then, front desk agent tells me to have agoda call them and they will refund my money. Going on 3 weeks now. They refuse to refund it. They say it's against there cancelation policy, I didn't cancel anything. Now I'm being robbed $126. Save yourself the time. Don't go here.

If it wasn't for the jacuzzi bath tub, even though the knobs were broken, working, this place would be a dump. Furniture was shaky, place looked murky, and office/ reception area is closed off to people. Have to do all business thru the night window.

The Windermere hotel when I booked the hotel it looked nice from the photos with pools putting greens plenty of parking also advertising morning breakfast internet etc. So I thought it was a pretty good alternative to some of the outrageously overpriced rooms being rented during super bowl week where I was unfortunately I was in Mesa for training while the super bowl was happening that week. To my surprise upon reaching the hotel notice the area was very rundown old with abandoned businesses little vehicle traffic but quite a bit of foot traffic. Went to the hotel which certainly didn't look like the photographs of its once glorious history was pretty rundown with some type of security in front and even a police car parked in the parking lot. You don't get to go to the front lobby to check in instead the front lobby is barricaded with signs for safety reasons the doors are locked. You are forced to use a side window like something out of a fast food drive-up window to connect your business. Upon getting my keys I noticed in the papers given to me that some room service was only provided upon a requested basis due to safety concerns. Also there was another sign saying there was no breakfast as would advertised for the hotel. For some reason I continued my stay and was gloriously entertained by alting antics I would appear to be homeless and other riffraff who occupy the hotel for a long-term. Hives drug dealers and people with populated the hotel during the day. There were swimming pools by certainly wouldn't use them what appears to be what was left of the putting greens are now vacant dirt lots. There was no internet even though I was given a piece of paper with the secret passwords none of them worked so you're basically stuck with a TV set with a couple hundred channels of useless programming. The room wasn't the cleanest they only supply enough toiletries in a way of soap and towels the last couple days and generally you don't feel very safe going outside your room. So if you are interested in some riffraff for entertainment and staying in a hotel that falsely advertises it's amenities and services which are non-existent than by all means pick this hotel. But if you value your life please go elsewhere

Was nice place until CBI took over. Being disabled and homeless also caring for another disabled was DENIED housing program. Now in Banner hospital due to homelessness which CBI could have been life changing... doing good job with getting homeless off the streets. #disabled #denied #homeless #CBI #Mesa #liars #joke

This is a shelter for the homeless, but I wouldn't recommend it. The CBI staff is overcome with snakes! The snakes also have NO REGARD FOR THE RULES. Not to mention that they toss Families, with children, out. They do have a problem with the "Dusk Till Dawn" program. Mexican Robert and his girlfriend are viscus thefts and lier's. Watch out for them.

In a shmedium ghetto area, now dedicated to some sort of community type program now, which carries a certain tenant base, most of which stay to themselves. Although there are some characters here . The rooms are huge and very clean ! The staff of course have jobs to do but can be rude and short. Security onsite.

This place operates 1/4 of it's rooms as hotel rooms to rent while "leasing" it's remaining 3/4 of rooms to the city of Mesa to "house" it's homeless bc they HAVE to now due to the court order stating the city's MUST keep the streets free of homeless encampments. It's funny. They have listings online portraying it as an actual hotel you'd want to stay at but it is literally a homeless shelter. The homeless population is predominately the mentally ill & junkies so these are the people sharing this stay with guests. Yuck! I was appalled when I learned this

I stayed for several days, and even though the beds and rooms were mostly clean, it had roaches all around the bathroom and sink. None of the amenities were actually available. No pool, no breakfast, not even a lobby. The wifi didn't even work that well. This place has so much potential, but it needs to be fixed real bad! I'll never stay there again.

Rooms are alright. Pool is down, main lobby doors are broke, no breakfast, and they don't tell you until you have already booked! Staff was very nice. Overall just very run down.

Would not recommend for anyone. Web site is very deceiving. No pool, no breakfast. Shady people around at all hours. Room was dirty and had cockroaches. Can't go into lobby. Pictures are not actual or recent.

The front desk clerk, Ariel was an absolutely perfect example of what customer service and care is and always should be. See she made the check in a great experience which carried over for my entire stay. I can assure you if you choose to stay at the Windermere Hotel and Conference Center in Mesa, you will enjoy your stay from start to finish.

The room looks nothing like what is pictured on this website. Room was dirty. No pool, no breakfast. Lots of litter in the empty parking lot including things that can’t be mentioned here. Website has basically false advertised. Shady characters all around. Wi-Fi was non-existent. There was no lobby, the lobby was closed to the public, instead you dealt with staff through a small step up window. Door to the room was not fitting properly so you could see a quarter inch gap to the outside. That’s a safety risk. Was booked for two nights, it was so bad, we didn’t stay the second night.

This is an okay motel, but the location is awful. It's in a not-so-great part of Mesa that I tend to steer clear of. It's a nice‐ish motel for the area, & it's great that they have programs that help the homeless have a place to stay (that is in a separate area from where guests stay, & I've never experienced any issues or anything with that, so I wouldn't let that be something that deters you from staying here), it's just the location isn't great. The rooms are much nicer than I expected though, & the staff are great & very helpful. There seems to always be a cop posted up in their parking lot, which isn't great, but if you are okay with the location &/or plan to stay indoors mostly or plan to have a place just to drop your bags & don't plan to spend any real time in the room other than to shower & sleep, then this could be the perfect room for you!

I booked online which looked good. But just pulling into the parking lot seeing a police officer that is stationed there 24/7, the place is very run down, shady people walking around, lady at the counter understood when I said "there is no way I am staying here". Didn't have the nerve to look at a room.

Advertised rate was not provided. Booking website $55 and then charged $125 + $50 deposit that does not go toward cost and May take 7 days to get back. Room was dirty with footprints on hardwood floors and bed had cigarette burn holes in it. Asked to be refunded because they did not have any other rooms available and was told that rooms are non-refundable. Front office staff was pleasant but unhelpful. Foyer, breakfast, lobby all locked off for guests. Would not recommend.

Rooms have cockroaches, no pool or breakfast as advertised. Toilet clogged they wouldn't let us use a plunger, batteries went dead, they wouldn't get us new batteries. Would not recommend and will not be back.

Rooms looked nothing like what was in the photo.Do not stay at this place. booked 2 rooms ROACHES!!!,the floors were so filthy the bottom of my son's socks were black. Roaches were crawling on the walls we had to push the beds out from the walls Bathtub had bugs crawling in it. 2nd room also had the same plus an added bonus of having a razor blade stuck in the ceiling.Checked out early, Asked for them to at least charge us for only one room since they left the 2nd room and came into our room because it was the least of 2 evils but their only remedy was 10% discount on the room which = $7 this is unacceptable. Escalated my complaint about remedy will give them a few days to see if they can come up with something better and then if not satisfied will contact BBB.

The online pics of this "hotel" must have been taken shortly after it was built, what, 20 years ago? I get that ppl are still concerned about covid, but to close the lobby and make you check in through a little window is pretty ridiculous. Rooms? What appeared to be fairly new flooring was pretty dirty. The "jacuzzi" tub outlined with burn marks (from days gone by), hard as a rock mattress, thin sheets, no breakfast (though advertised), and littered landscaping were clear signs of neglect not expected given pricing. And still over $100/night. Wow. The thing I am most appreciative of was the quiet evening, perhaps due in part to the MPD cruiser in the parking lot when we went to bed and still there the next morning. 🤔
