When
we
arrived,
the
bar
was
packed,
the
lobby
was
packed,
and
the
courtyard
was
packed.
We
had
to
walk
through
the
restaurant
to
get
to
the
restrooms.
Maybe
half
of
the
tables
were
actually
in
use.
We
continued
to
wait
our
turn
to
check
in
at
the
podium.
None
of
the
staff
would
engage
us,
so
we
waited
for
someone
to
take
our
names.
After
standing
there
waiting
patiently
for
over
45
minutes,
we
were
told
that
we
needed
a
reservation
and
that
we
wouldn't
be
seated.
If,
instead
of
ignoring
everyone,
except
the
name
they
called,
when
they
came
to
the
podium,
I
would
have
had
an
entirely
different
experience
and
attitude.
They
obviously
need
new
management,
as
I
have
been
here
3
times
now
and
I
have
never
eaten
here
due
to
wait
times
or
being
refused
service,
although
I
had
tried
a
margarita,
previously.
I
really
wasn't
impressed
with
their
margaritas.
My
friend,
who
eats
at
Double
Eagle
fairly
regularly,
insisted
on
eating
here
on
Christmas
Eve,
said
she
has
never
had
reservations
and
didn't
even
know
they
accepted
reservations.
The
only
upside
to
my
visit
was
that
I
didn't
have
to
eat
here.
Instead,
we
drove
down
the
street
to
Hacienda
de
Masilla,
which
was
also
packed
and,
I
mean,
PACKED,
but
they
promptly
greeted
us
and
seated
us
as
soon
as
possible.
Unlike
Double
Eagle,
Hacienda
is
gorgeous,
both
inside
and
out,
and
was
decorated
to
the
nines
for
Christmas.
Im
talking
every
room,
the
courtyard,
the
fountain,
everywhere.
I
get
that
Double
Eagle
is
a
"historic
building,"
but
broken,
mismatched
lighting
in
the
hallways
outside
the
bathrooms
is
very
tacky,
ghetto
and
unattractive.
I
didn't
bother
to
observe
the
rest
of
the
building,
as
by
then,
I
was
over
it.
We
had
the
queso
and
the
guacamole,
both
of
which
were
awesome,
spicy
pomegranate
margaritas
(which
were
delicious).
My
friend
really
enjoyed
the
wine
that
our
server
picked
for
her.
We
both
thoroughly
enjoyed
the
Blue
Crab,
Blue
Corn,
Hatch
Green
Chili
enchiladas
with
the
best
black
beans
I've
ever
eaten,
Mexican
street
corn,
and
Cole
Slaw,
which
I
don't
eat
anywhere
else.
To
top
it
off,
we
had
the
fire
roasted
jalapeños
with
soy
drizzle.
I
doubt
I'll
even
try
to
eat
at
Double
Eagle
again,
BUT
I'll
definitely
be
back
to
Hacienda,
often!
In
fact,
I
ate
there
again
on
New
Years
Eve,
and
it
was
amazing,
as
usual!
