University Sports Center of RWTH Aachen

University College

👍 Good sports offer. At other universities, however, you can choose everything on offer for a flat rate, hence only 4 stars

Alien from reality in Corona times. The scaffolding for outdoor sports has been closed since the beginning of Corona - even when clubs opened. Now money has also been spent on massive fencing. Reason: traceability - complete nonsense. In every DM, bus, train and even walking in the city center there are many more people in a small space WITHOUT any tracking. Are these Corona hotspots? Hardly likely. The scaffolding is in the fresh air. Quality of life here is completely unnecessarily restricted - especially since sport is good for the immune system and people now tend to train together in the room instead. Class... But since it's public tax money, no one cares and there's no discussion there. Since Corona will probably stay for the next few years and we were already at an incidence of around 5, the scaffolding can be torn down straight away.

I like the calisthenics park there, but it looks like it is not big enough for such a huge University. It is always overcrowded in summer. And the means that are supposed to restrict number of visitors are horrible. It is not normal to check for student's ID everyone who is training out there. You‘d better enlarge the training zones.

Sports equipment in very good condition. The place often gets too crowded late in the afternoon, especially the changing rooms. These are mostly used by people who go outside to the track or the basketball/soccer field and play sports. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the supervisors are very nice and helpful. If it's too crowded, it tends to stink a lot, especially in the cardio area, although the humidity in the air doesn't make it much better.

They have enough courts for basketball, beach voleibol, futball, running and to work out. The locker are small but good enough.

I can only agree with Oliver Berlin’s opinion. It's just sad to close such a great training offer and keep it closed for so long. Simply incomprehensible.

Do not work here as a trainer. They are not trustable at all. I did courses for over 2 years and still didn’t get paid for any of them with the excuse they had management change. I don’t know how to continue to get paid.
