A nice place to come shopping on a weekend. Lots of places to get snacks and drinks, easy access to some big stores and always has a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Well done to whoever has kept this shopping centre buzzing. John Lewis, TK Max and Dunelm all within walking distance. Perhaps you could teach Gracechurch Centre in Sutton Coldfield how to run a successful centre. Well Done Solihull.

Been here s few times when visiting family in Birmingham. Nice area with lots shops n nice small kids playground with seating etc. Bring our grandaughter here n she loves it. Always seem to have something going on here n recently had a Spooktacular for Halloween - good fun. Clouse to main pedestrian area with Touchwood SC close along with likes of McDs, Greggs etc. Recommend if u got kids n want sit n enjoy a coffee n keep eye while kids burn up some energy πŸ‘

Although I do enjoy shopping in Solihull my experience this time was less enjoyable. The atmosphere doesn't feel the same, shops changing hands and not so appealing too shop in ie. House of Fraser, empty buildings looking shabby. So sad. My last remark was a bit strong but honest, however having visited Solihull again found it more enjoyable. Atmosphere and surroundings much btr, love the new Cafe "Woods" have been there a few times. Feelings abt House of Frazer stays the same, the shop has lost its appeal.

Mell square is a lively, vibrant space to shop, eat and chill out. It's a shame that the council weren't brave enough to recreate the glory days of Solihull when it was bejewelled with elegant fountains, all the major department stores and tea rooms galore, but it's on the right track. Solihull Town centre should work to attract boutique shops, deli counters, craft beer and restaurants if it wants to reclaim its heritage.

Nice shopping centre that doesn't have that tired look about it. Great for the locals but not sure about attracting shoppers from outside the area. Most of the shops can be found in other locations. Having said that it's clean and tidy and well laid out. I think it's worth a visit.

As we go there every other Saturday as always very clean you have a wide choice of retail outlets, You also have a busker who is very professional in the way he performs,, You also have places to sit and relax maybe have a coffee,

Needs a revamp...& quickly...Mell square could be developed into quite a nice/quality public square but I'm afraid the current 60s design is extremely dated...come on SBC hurry up its meant to be an exclusive suburb/borough

A fave place of mine just a minutes walk outside 1 of Touchwood's main doors in Solihull. Lots of stores and cafes around. Post office in WH Smith very handy. Some lovely card shops. A huge Boots. Always someone singing or playing music. A carosel for the kids and young at heart. An area of green turf with plenty of seating adds such a nice touch. Great place to meet friends and catch up.

Love Mell Square. The Council always put on events and Street markets . My granddaughter comes for the weekend to mine and I take her to see what's on. They do loads of things, food stalls, charity, the Dinosaurs were fab ! At least I know Mt tax and rates are being well spent !!

Quite a nice place to shop as there are still plenty of shops open. better than a lot of high street places in uk. Shame that the surrounding buildings look so dated and make the place look dull and unappealing.

If your looking for an open space with plenty of seating then mell Square is ideal. Shops include hmv, dunelm, boots, tk maxx, wh smith etc. There are several options for coffee, although the likes of caffe nero and costa do get busy. The square itself is rarely busy unless you happen to go when they have a market or something similar going on. Its a nice area with multiple accesses to the other shops in Solihull.

Mell Square has always had a nice, friendly and relaxing atmosphere with the cafes and shops and remains so, but it misses Marks & Spencer's.

1960s shopping Square with shops all around. WH Smith, Boots, Hotter Shoes, Caffe Nero and Costa Coffee etc. Occasional events here. The Taste Collective in the middle replaced the original Costa Central Cafe. Play area around the family statue now. Post office moved to WH Smith.

I like what they've done with the place over the past few years, much better than before. The little food stall type things are nice and provide a nice atmosphere. On the other hand that cafe is below average...

Love this place, feel as if I'm on holiday when I visit. Nice that there is an area for entertainment. I've watched and been in concerts here with choirs.

Unfortunately, Mell Square is not very good. It is soulless. No atmosphere, no vibrancy. There has been a big change since Marks and Spencer closed down and a few other well branded shops. It has to be one of the most boring places it has gone down considerably. In fact, Solihull is not a place to be.

  • 3/5 Lesley J. 10 months ago on Google
Mell Square doesn't have much of a choice of shops, all very basic. M and S much missed. A couple up market ladies wear shop but expensive

  • 5/5 steven e. 10 months ago on Google
Actually, I couldn't believe how clean and tidy the whole of Solihull was. 100% is a place I would visit again. No closed down or boarded up shops, 5*

Lovely area for shopping and eating out. A good range of shops, also close to Touchwood. With a wide variety of places to eat. Always clean and tidy. Plenty of car parks near. Local bus hub to many areas and only a short walk to the train station

Very dated shopping centre. Shame as it could be full of lots of independent retailers to give it a Bicester Village kind of feel. The β€˜High Street stores’ are all in Touchwood so this needs to have something different.

Getting more like Birmingham City centre with empty shops. At 1000 in the morning hardly anyone about and some shops still not open. Very sad, as Birmingham centre is a place I do not want to go to as you don't feel safe.

The Woods cafe is a new Cafe in Solihull and is wonderful. The inside is like a small woodland area with birdsong playing and relaxing videos. It's a wonderful relaxing place for some great coffee.

Jazz festival, not as many food stalls as before but atmosphere still great.

  • 1/5 Jan M. 1 year ago on Google
Has become cheap and tacky. Rubbish from grazing from overload of food and bevs places. Deafening music events are stressful for shop staff and spoil meetings for people wanting to socialise. It's not an events arena we have lots. Let's think about providing a peaceful and calm oasis for people escape the stress of their lives.

It's now selling collectibles, as well as comic books, posters, anime, cds, vinyl, ear phones, speakers and some food and drink from aboard. I brought a batman Christmas ornament from there. That place is TDB.

Pleasant shopping area traffic free shame a number of the popular stores have now moved away but there are some new additions with Touchwood not too far away well worth a visit.

Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. A lovely carousel for little children opposite of Costa coffee. Also great parks (Malvern and Brueton Park) near by to have nice day out.

A good mix of shops and bars and restaurants in this area. It's great, love it here.

  • 4/5 Dan K. 1 year ago on Google
A good variety of shops here, but the car park is really tight with lots of steep ramps between floors and not a lot of wiggle room.

  • 3/5 Liz M. 1 year ago on Google
Mel square is a quieter part of central Solihull due to Touchwood. Some great shops still to be found here such as Boots, WHSm8th, TK Maxx, Dunelm Mill and New Look. Worth visiting

If you like being accosted by big issue sellers then take a visit, otherwise a good throufare to decent shops

  • 4/5 David A. 1 year ago on Google
Nice place to shop could do with a few more disabled parking spaces but other than that it's worth having a look

  • 3/5 Ken L. 1 year ago on Google
In recent times, Mell Square has lost a large Marks and Spencer store and a Cotswold Outdoor shop. However, other important companies are still present, including Boots and W H Smiths. The High Street and the Touchwood Shopping Mall are within walking distance. The larger car parks are a longer walk away.

  • 4/5 Mark D. 1 year ago on Google
Mell Square every time I visit is always vibrant and busy and the place really comes alive in the Christmas season. A brilliant place to visit for the whole family.

The coffee shop was lovely and light. Good coffee. Mell square looking a bit sad now. Needs an update and the shops updating.

Love Mell Square but miss M&S. Wonder if something is being done with car park as lots of marking out on the floors. Hope they are not getting rid
