Welcomed by an abrupt male "25 minute wait!!". To which I replied no problem at all I'm more than happy to wait. Continue to make my order with the polite young girl, he then rudely interrupted again "25minute wait". Yes I heard you first time! Asked for a time to come back to collect which was approximately 20/25mins later. Arrived on time and continued to wait a further 10mins, no major problem can appreciate its a busy period. For the next 10 minute period I witnessed this same male be abrupt and unwelcoming to every customer through the door., barking out lead times rather than instructing customers politely. Unfortunately his staff don't seem to get any special treatment neither, short, abrupt, rude and borderline tyrannical to the young waitresses. Perhaps if you want the complete article and experienced staff maybe pay more than the £3 an hour you most likely pay the school kids. Think you should be grateful your busy, many businesses are struggling! Keep up your dire customer relations you'll soon get your waiting times down permanently :) . Food was good though thankyou, at least there's some positives.

Friendly staff. Lovely food. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious and so was the hot chocolate with cream (I chose no marshmallows though with mine) and they put a lovely little biscuit with it. I had 2 hot chocolates (both with a little biscuit included). One pre-breakfast and one to have with the breakfast. I had an option of toast with butter or bread and butter, white or brown bread, too. I chose brown toast with butter. Didn't have to wait too long for breakfast (guessing 10-15 minutes although didn't time it). Greatly recommended

I had a nice breakfast here. The serve fully English breakfast and other healthy breakfast too. Lots of locals. It 10 minutes walk from the electric canal bridge. Although walking to it fro the road it's a bit tricky as there is limited pavement. Watch for the fast cars of the road but that breakfast it's worth the walk👍🏾

We were in search of a good cafe to have a cooked breakfast within the Solihull/Shirley area and finally came across this place. Their food quality is fantastic, all grilled so not greasy, quality local ingredients and all great value. Their full English is brilliant with the option to add extras - highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of relishing a splendid full English breakfast at Frankie's Cafe in Solihull, which was an experience that will be etched in my memory for a long time. The mastermind behind this culinary extravaganza was the talented Denice, who not only cooked the food to perfection but also took the feedback with a smile that warmed the heart. The breakfast was a sensory delight, featuring a medley of exquisite flavours and textures. The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to perfection, with the yolk oozing out gently at the slightest touch of my fork. The star of the plate, however, was the bacon - a crispy delight that was packed with flavour and perfectly complemented the other components. The baked beans were a harmonious blend of savoury and sweet, adding a burst of flavour to every bite. The grilled tomatoes were juicy and fresh, and added a delightful tang to the plate. The sausages were juicy and tender, and a perfect accompaniment to the bacon. In conclusion, I must admit that this breakfast experience was nothing short of phenomenal. Denice's culinary prowess was evident in every dish, and her warm hospitality made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Frankie's Cafe in Solihull to anyone seeking an exquisite breakfast that is sure to tantalize the taste buds.

Frankies Cafe is a great place offering a wide range of food. Breakfast wrap is my favourite but the full english is great - way better than the two mugs down the road.

Saddened to have to write this, but left today with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. We have been coming to this cafe for a long time, around 6 years. The food is good and to my mind slightly better than 2 mugs down the road. We have always had pleasant experiences with the staff here but today was an exception. Our 4 year old broke one of the salt dispensers, it really clearly didn’t go down well, we weren't told not to worry and definitely picked up on a bad vibe from the owner. Upon paying i apologised, explained my 4 year old (who is a great boy, barely puts a foot wrong) was suitably told off, and tipped what was definitely more than the value of the salt dispenser, all i got back was “ok”. While i can understand being busy can lead to stress, its not an excuse for rudeness. Sadly i will not be returning. Dan (a previous regular and loyal customer)

By far my favourite cafe in the Midlands... food is excellent and healthy, service brilliant and it is a really warm and friendly place. I took my kids there over the holidays ... they loved it so much we had to go back - the cakes are home made. My two favourites - the cheesecake which was deliciously creamy and some home made fudge which was Biscoff flavoured genuinely the best fudge I've ever tasted, lovely subtle and complex flavours.

I came for a very large builders breakfast, as a large 17stone man. I had fasted for 36 hours so i intended on feasting here, 3 days of cafe hunting led me to this place. The Sausages were enhanced with a phenomenal herb mix injected right into the centre. I licked my plate clean ( i got some strange looks). All finished within 3 minutes, the delight that struck my face was there for all to see. I approached other diners to get their verdict, all happy faces apart from the one large thick man, with little hair told me he burnt his lip on a drop of oil leaking from his butty. They did not offer clubcard points or accept any of my groupon vouchers but i paid and left a hefty tip. Great experience i just wish they sold Carling

food wasn’t that bad tbh i like the sausages as lashfords farm are the better sausages in my area but the staff who worked there were rude i think it was the manger who was rude he sounded american that was the guy who was rude he just didn’t make eye contact with us and told us to sit back down after we offered to pay before hand and when went we went to order our food we were waiting for 5 monsters at the counter then got told to sit down even though we got told today down and someone will come to us before but no one did. I went to the toilet in the back and there was mold in the toilet and in the back we’re the drinks are and where they store some food there was a sink with so much mold like it hasn’t been cleaned since the day they got the place and also inside the dishwasher there is mold will be calling to get there restaurant inspected because it shouldn’t be open

One of the best breakfast I have eaten in Solihull. Premium food and service and very reasonable prices

  • 2/5 Hayley E. 1 year ago on Google
Polite and welcoming staff, the taste of the food was ok but the portion size was small for the price. Breakfast Doesn't come with tea or coffee included which I think it should for the price they charge. Small breakfast had way to many beans and tomatoes so was just like a plate of soup with a skinny sausage floating about. Definitely one of the most expensive cafes Iv been to in the area. Shame really because its my closet one.

Best fry up in Solihull. Best sausage sandwich. Best bacon and sausage sandwich. Best crumpets. I can't say any more as I am still working my way through the menu but: safe to say, this place is great. Consistently top notch food quality - baguettes and bread are all fab -and the ingredients are all cooked as you like it . My only complaint is this place is ruining my pre Christmas diet. Fantastic and highly recommended.

Had a sandwich here one lunchtime a couple weeks ago. Had a sandwich with bacon and brie and the most delicious onion relish which the lady had made herself..... really good 😊

Really nice little cafe with good food, friendly and polite staff and reasonably priced. Only gripe was that a member of staff approached me with "Have you finished" the instant I put my last piece of food in my mouth to take my plate away. I hadn't even started chewing 😅

Nice Cafe. Clean and modern. Had the large breakfast and it was lovely. Nice pot of English breakfast tea. Experience spoilt by being charged £8.20 for a £6.95 breakfast. I was too British too comment and just assumed the tea was not included. Looking at the menu it clearly states the tea is included so this has left me a bit negative about the experience
