I went with my family on the August Bank holiday Monday (30/08/2021). Even from the entrance itself we know that the day is going to be bad. My friend entered without paying anything, and was waiting for us inside. However, they decided to charge £5 for adults and £3 for kids from entrance itself..! Later when we asked for food around 12:30 pm they initially said food will be served at 2:00 pm only. When we retuned at 2:00 pm to order food they said they will serve at 3:00 pm..! D (the waitress was rude and said either we can wait or leave..! ) At around 3:30 pm they started to serve food, below par standard small in quantity and okay in quality. A complete ripper, a day we waited 3.5hrs to eat with small kids and infants..! Horrible experience. Will not recommend this to anyone..!

Really cool place for a quick look around. We had a drink and a tuna melt was lovely. The sculptures are impressive. We enjoyed it and will be back when that way on again.

First time here as a diner, and must say was pleasantly surprised. Never tried African food until my visit here and the food was faultless. Lovely vibes and reggae music playing in the background and nice selection of cocktails and beers . Shout out to a staff member called Leah was very pleasant and friendly throughout our visit . 10/10

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday. We walked to Akamba along the nearby canal to find ourselves transported to Africa! The metal sculptures of African wildlife in the gardens are very impressive and worth going to see in and of themselves. There was an event happening for the bank holiday so we decided to buy tickets and stay for the entertainment, food and had some rum cocktails. I felt like I was on holiday. We'll definitely come back for another event in future.

Oh absolutely fabulous I went to Africa without all the hassle of taking a flight. Free to just wonder through the jungle or stop off at the watering hole for coffee and cakes or something a little stronger, or have an authentic meal. The food and drinks are not free Check out the evening events with live band and meal inclusive ( you need tickets for events). There is also a gift shop and you can buy plants. All monies go to the African children's education. Well worth a visit for you and the African children.

Garden centre part not a lot to choose from, and as they are specialist plants, quite expensive, you can tell that a lot of the plants have been there for a long time, due to their size and price tag. The restaurant area looked amazing, a wonderful setting with all the iron animals and decor. We didn't purchase any food so couldn't comment on the food or drink, but there were plenty of people in there. The iron sculptures are wonderful! Such amazing detail, you can see all the hard work that goes into them.

We came here for lunch. The food was lovely but you have to order it by an app and it's pretty useless. Great selection of plants, with lots of rare and unusual ones. The place isn't wheelchair friendly AT ALL. The paths are all deep gravel and I had to get out and walk a never of times as my chair got stuck. I couldn't even push it as I walked. We are going to go again but when I'm feeling stronger so that I can use my walker.

You don't need tickets to enter, it is free. Lovely place with lots of plants for sale and metal sculptures of African wildlife too. A bar and eatery too, the food was excellent. They have regular events and you can hire the place for private functions.

Imaginative garden centre. Had lovely chicken wings and a fresh coffee, which I think was with Kenyan beans.

Excellent African style restaurant. The vibe is so special that you probably can't find it in other places in UK. Try traditional food and breakfast is the way to start the day.

A recreation of a jungle type of watering hole/bar friendly greeting on entering by the Security staff, friendly bar staff, music entertainment was fantastic, the food was excellent, I really enjoyed the Goat curry with rice, very authentic Caribbean cooking style 😋

What a fantastic gem. Gorgeous decor throughout with hundreds of beautiful metal sculptures throughout the garden area (also available to buy). Easy to spend an afternoon just having a mooch around. The cafe is also brilliant. Great choice of food and drinks. Personally I afore the dumplings and the spiced tea, yum!

Animal metal statues were interesting. However plants, restaurant, outside areas did not reach our expectations. Needs alot of TLC and even refurbishment. Chairs were rickety. Not much to do. Kids became bored within 20minutes.

Worth a quick visit if you are passing by. Primarily a garden center with a large restaurant facility all with a strong African theme. Lots of large metal animals would make it fun for kids too.

I used to visit this place about 20 years ago, going back I was pleasantly surprise how well it is kept, there are lots of animal sculptures to see and buy.

Lovely to sit in one of the 'huts' with reggae music playing. Had delicious lunch of Ackee, Callalloo, plantain and rice and peas. Surrounded by 'jungle' planting. Would have given 5 stars but my elderly mum struggled a little on uneven planks. Otherwise a brilliant experience

It was our first time going and definitely will not be the last. We went for a birthday surprise with a group of about 20 including children. The children had a terrific time in the sand pit, we took extra spades along and the food was timely and really tasty! It really reminded me so much of the South African lodges with the wooden smell, beautiful vegetation and authentic African/Jamaican feel. An excellent place for families and great plant nursery too

Generally it is a nice place and a good concept. I have been there a few times and the experience has always been the same. The entertainment is first class. On this occasion the band playing was called Reggae Magic - absolutely brilliant, entertaining and professional. The downside for me is the food. The choices are very basic - jerk chicken, fish or a vegetarian option. This was exactly the same when I went previously and the last time I was there was eight years ago. Have to say not very authentic Caribbean food and no sides etc. Though it tastes nice for what it is. It is clear the focus is on the entertainment side. Bar service was very slow and some staff not really sure what they were doing. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful, we were a big party celebrating a 50th birthday, and she really did her best for us, sorry I didn't take her name. All in all we had a very good evening and the other guests there were all very friendly, I would say the band made the night. The room was cold - a number of people commented on this. As I said at the beginning, a good concept as I know it is very popular but for me personally I would rate it as "OK ".

Good Kenyan vibes. Nice restaurant authenticity. NOT recommended for wheelchair users, it was very tough to move around, staff would not open easy access door to exit either. Good was just OK, not a selling point

Nice experience and the statues are amazing. The place itself is alot smaller than expected but it is worth a trip out to see them.

I remember when this was a little garden centre in Acocks Green its come a long way! Definitely worth a visit and on a good day this place is pretty special, it's got a bit of everything and they have created something really unique. Only knocked of a star because it was all looking a little tired I assume because of covid, needs a good tidy-up to bring it back up to its former glory. I will update my rating after next visit.
