I used to love Paris Cafe and eat here regularly but my most recent experience has given me a change of heart. I ordered food for delivery in the middle of busy work day. I work from home and decided to go to the clubhouse in my apartment complex to get work done because I have 2 year old at home. I ordered from Paris because in the past they’ve been consistently good and I was shocked at what was delivered. The soup was missing almost half the cup, the sweet potato fries were super soggy and stuck together, the weren’t any utensils in the bag, so I had no way to eat the soup, and there wasn’t a ketchup packet in sight. This is what $21 at Paris Cafe gets you. When I called the manager to let her know, she seemed like she could careless. She said I can come pick up the other half cup of soup, which wasn’t an option since I don’t have a car at the moment. I explained that to her and she basically said it’s not her problem. Now I’m desperately in search of spoon so I can eat the portion of the soup they delivered. This is not how you treat people, loyal customers, or anyone for that matter. I most certainly will not be back

I had very high expectations, which is why I was I little bit disappointed. I took coffee and croissants at the Cafe (to go) and ordered some breakfast food. Regular croissant was really good. Waffles, coffee and crepes so so.

Cute little café with an exhaustive menu of drinks, breakfast items, and dessert. Cozy looking interiors with Parisian art on the walls. The veg Galette a Lepinard was savory and well made. Friends enjoyed the sandwiches, fries, and quiche. Nice space to enjoy lazy brunch. Street parking outside.

Disappointed.. Cute and cozy place, friendly coworkers but food was not good. I love french culture, I used to live in Paris thats why I wanted so bad to try this cute place. Unfortunately this was not a good experience.. I ordered an avocado toast, which turned out to be a sandwich (old avocado, thick tomato slices) , hash brown tasted like nothing.. (Hate to say this but McDonald’s taste better), toast was extremely hard that It was difficult to bite. We also ordered a Sandwich n# 5 with Fresh fruit and prosciutto that was horrible..they gave us a salad instead. After asking for our fruit, they gave us a really small cup with “fresh fruit” (old strawberries w some mold on it and cantaloupe) Coffee was really good, tasty and vibrant flavors. We had a almond joy and cappuccino I would go again but only for coffee

Nice little one-off coffee shop in the middle of downtown Metuchen. Service was great, drinks were awesome. Very relaxing environment. Would definitely recommend to others. Didn't try their food much, but there's always next time.

Food tastes great. Coffee was good. We dined during street fair so the atmosphere added to the experience. My daughter loved it and my wife’s into crepes. Friendly service!

It’s been a while since I’ve been here. The food was always super good. Some thing has changed because we noticed the food was a bit different but still really good. Then the check came… it was pretty difficult to understand what you were being charged for as none of the items were listed by name just a bunch of dollar amounts added up to a total… fine…. We get back the receipt that requires a signature and has a line for tip with all the recommendations on amounts you can leave…… I look back to the receipt with all the random dollar amounts and notice in pen someone has written another dollar amount and marked it as “18%”…… so without my knowledge you’ve already charged a tip (that was not worth the service or the wait) and have the audacity to make it appear as though I now have the opportunity to tip …. Again? It seemed super shady and so I asked a waitress walking by who could not have tried harder to avoid me and she confirmed yes the tip was already charged. I was shocked! We live in town and will never be eating here again.

I found Cafe Paris to be a pretty fine establishment overall. It offers a large menu with authentic French cuisine for each meal. I ordered the croissant sandwich, which was turkey, lettuce, tomato, and Swiss cheese in a croissant. A side of fries was also included with the sandwich. The sandwich came together really well and croissant was perfectly toasted. Throughout the restaurant there is a quaint French ambiance with artwork on the walls, flowers, and decorative items. There’s also outdoor seating with nice views of main street. The service was fine as well, but beware they sneakily automatically add a tip to your final bill and don’t verbally let you know. I guarantee people accidentally give them an additional tip if they don’t look at the bill closely. Overall, I had a great lunch at Cafe Paris and I give it my recommendation.

This cafe is soo classic and it gives you the vibe and feels of some local french coffee place. Coffee was amazing and also the breakfast. Crepes were best and the ambience was sooo nice… Service was good and they have outdoor seating as well on main street. Try this cafe if you are in metuchen!! 💛💛

We loved the decor and ambiance at this restaurant in downtown Metuchen. We had orange duck and crepes for dessert, which were so delicious! Very friendly service as well! We definitely recommend stopping by!

Cafe paris is really worth visiting. We got a hot chocolate, nutella coffee, veggie sandwich with a side of fries and a chocolate mousse crepe. It was a fulfilling meal for a vegetarian. There are way more non veg options so that would be worth trying too if you like. The ambience is decently decorated and does not disappoint on giving paris feels. A cute little eiffel tower on the side has been decorated to sparkle the whole time. Loved those details!

I wouldn’t say it’s authentic French cuisine, but they do have good sandwiches. It’s a cafe with some French decor, but they serve Bubble Tea (Japanese), Biscotti (Italian) and other diverse foods. The ambiance was made to be “French” but other than that, it’s a typical cafe. However , don’t let that discourage you from trying their food- it’s still pretty good! :)

Terrible experience. Food is average and the service is not good because they have a mandatory gratuity policy. Please take your money somewhere else. There area many other wonderful restaurants in Metuchen that will not charge 18% gratuity for a party of 3. Also, it is difficult to check your receipt since it is not itemized. I asked the patrons sitting next to us if they were charged for 18% gratuity and they said no. I’m not sure what is their criteria when to enforce their gratuity on patrons. I will not return to this place.

I went to this place for brunch with seven other friends. Vegetarian dishes tasted delicious. Food was fresh. They forgot about my order. When I reminded, they served the order ( omelette with spinach tomato and goat cheese) but all I could taste was spinach. I might visit the place for the coffee and ambience but not sure if I am going to try the omelettes again.

Always friendly service and fresh favorable food. Cosmopolitan atmosphere perfect for a date, a meal with friends, or to rekindle memories of past travel to France. Salads are generous size and burgers are well regarded.

This place was terrible. The food was so bad, tasteless and undercooked. Their “avocado toast” is just two pieces of white bread with a slice of lettuce and tomato and some avocado thrown on top without seasonings. Their French toast was still raw in the middle and their crepe was still raw and cold. We didn’t even eat it because we didn’t want to get sick. The waitress was not very friendly and was annoyed that we asked for more time to look at the menu. Then we get the bill which is not written clearly or itemized and it has an 18% gratuity included which was not disclosed anywhere on the menu. We looked all over the menu for it and the waitress pointed it out in the tiniest lettering on a small sign that was on the table. Then they charge 4% for using a credit card. If you’re going to charge automatically for gratuity then at least ensure your service and food is up to par.

Best smoked salmon sandwich ever. Not sure what made it different, fresh gost cheese, pickled red onion maybe?, or the delicious bread, but I definitely recommend. Spinach omelet was great too, but really, try the smoked salmon!

Disregard the one star posts. They seem likely written by people who are either looking to get something for free or are just miserable and enjoy ruining the reputation of small businesses. That said, I had a fabulous meal of lamb and goat cheese Galette, with a side of mixed greens and for dessert I had chocolate mousse and vanilla ice cream, and a wonderful café au Paris. Everything was delicious, fresh and prepared with care. The service was excellent and the decor is adorable.

Cute, cozy spot that we have been going to for years. They can accommodate large groups if you call ahead, and they really work hard to make sure you enjoy your meal. Love their drinks (especially their oat milk hot chocolate!) and ambience, it feels great supporting a local business. We always come back and plan to continue!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cafe paris in Metuchen, and I must say, it was an outstanding breakfast experience from start to finish. I am delighted to give this fantastic establishment a well-deserved five-star review! Thank you leticia Kyle 2 update This time wasn’t as I expected the waiter was so pushy to give us the receipt so we leave even that my wife didn’t finished her coffee that we order after the breakfast and the restaurant was 60% empty . So disappointed The previous waiter ( leticia) was awesome

Super cute place ! Always clean! The food is so tasty! And I definitely feel like I am in Paris! I have taken my daughter here for breakfast and she loved their croissants! Great service from the staff as well.

Read this review before coming. The worst food I have ever had. The cold coffee drinks we had were luke warm. The best part was what they are trying pass off as avocado toast. The avocado toast is a piece of bread with lettuce and tomatoes. The hash browns are definitely the frozen ones from Trader Joe’s. The quiche was definitely frozen as the inside wasn’t even warm. When we told the waitress she just shrugged it off and asked if we wanted to pack it. The cheese on the grilled cheese wasn’t even melted. We went to Hatch 44 the day before and it was 1000% better. Save your money and don’t eat here.
