This place is difficult to review. The place is nice and several staff members tried hard. The rooms have a wide variety yet all cost similar. There were several downfalls to this hotel. First, we asked to have a couple jeans and t-shirts washed and they came off sounding like it was complimentary for non ironed items, to later tell us it was actually going to cost more than 1 night of stay...second, and more importantly, was our friends wedding. They planned to have their wedding here for over 11 months working with hotel to hash out details. They even went a week early to visit and discuss final arrangements with the staff. Then, the day before the wedding this giant monstrosity of a plastic white building goes up, right in front of the castle where they had planned the wedding to be. They failed to tell anyone that there was an appliance home show the day after their wedding. So for 11 months and even in the last week they let them believe that everything was as the designed. However, They could no longer have the wedding in the location they planned in front of the castle. They moved us into a corner of the lot where the castle could barely be seen, then they stuck the diesel generators right next to the new setup wedding location and had them running during the wedding. Overall it is probably a nice place, but they really messed up or friends wedding and this part of our vacation.

Some people in their comments are talking about the hotel's restaurant while the others are talking about the hotel itself.. Anyway, it was unusual experience to stay in more than 350 years building with new modern rooms a way from the city rush. I liked the hotel and enjoyed my stay there.

Had a wonderful stay at the Kasteel Gravenhof. The staff was wonderful, from the reception to the management. Very friendly and accommodating. The room was really comfortable and newly refurbished. My first choice for trips to Brussels from now on.

We organised our wedding here. It was flawless! From the first day to wedding day, everything was very well organised and considered. They are super professional. Decoration of the salon and garden was charming. Our guests said many nice words about the wedding atmosphere. The meals were delicious and they served some meals again and again. We had many international guests and waiters speak many languages which was awesome! Once again, thank you Kaastel Gravenhof!

Very enjoyable and relaxing. I spent a Sunday evening enjoying a drink on the patio. Although the service was a bit lacking in speed and friendliness, it was easy enough to go down to the bar in the basement and order a beer myself. There was a wedding wrapping up so I can see that the place might be a bit noisy if such an event were going into the night. I would assume that Saturdays might be more likely to have late night parties. I dined in the restaurant in the "dungeon". It is a fun, casual atmosphere. The service here presents a great improvement over that on the patio. The lady who appears to manage the place was really taking good care of customers. I had the "famous Gravenhof ribs". This was a full, trimmed slab of pork ribs served with potatoes and a small salad. The texture was a little chewy in a good way with a slight salt and vinegar flavor. Although I managed to eat all of it, there is enough meat here to share. I didn't have room for dessert. My room was one floor up at the end of the hall, overlooking the patio and pond. It was not huge but it was very comfortable and up to date. There is a mini fridge that was stocked with beer, still and sparkling water, and soft drinks, all free of charge. I did notice the earplugs available in the room. I slept quite well without them. I'd recommend this place to couples wanting a romantic get away or to business people needing a good place to recharge. My only caveat being that you might want to check that there is not a big celebration booked.

Beautiful building but rooms are a bit dated and require a refresh. I have been here 5 days and my bedding hasn't been changed once. It smells of damp and a fusty smell eminates from the bathroom. No tea or coffee in room. Cleaner left my window open and I arrived to find a room full of mosquitos. Breakfast is adequate. Restraunt is ok but expensive. Noisy plumbing and poor insulation of noise between rooms.

Nice cellar restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited and the place sometimes noisy, but it's a good to know place given that there are not that many possibilities in the neighborhood. Very nice 'terrace'in summer with beautiful parc and castle.

Great hotel. Scenic location, nice room and friendly staff. The restaurant is excellent for dinner. Had the best ribs I've ever tried.

This castle hotel with famous restaurant "De Gravenkelder", lies in a beautiful park about 11 km south of Brussels centre. It offers superior class rooms and all kind of arrangements can be fixed. Its terrace is the place to be on a sunny day.

Too early to give a proper rating, but the new owners are really working against the clock to get the hotel ready together with the requisite fire + safety certificates. I spoke with one of the partners + I'm reassured the hotel part has received a much needed uplift from when it was last open shortly pre-Covid. Members of my family have stayed at the hotel on numerous occasions. It started to get quite tired towards the end. Together with the ongoing renovations in the 'kelder', the downstairs bar & previously v good restaurant, & the function rooms, which I did not see - this will make an attractive alternative to visitors to Brussels. It's a 20" taxi ride tops. You are in the countryside at 500 metres from the chateau grounds. Mostly dairy farmland but also good VTR tracks that just go on & on. They're nuts here for biking! Voila, I'm really looking forward to it opening again, and seeing my neighbours in the bar, restaurant, or lovely sun-facing terrace from late Spring (it is Belgium). Good luck to the owners with the permissions from the Halle Fire Service. It seems that it takes 105 days (or was that 35?) to process an application to install a fire escape from the first-floor hotel. Hmmn.
