An incredible experience I'd gladly recommend to people of all ages. The museum is incredibly important for educating people about the magnificent Axolotl, its role in the delicate fauna of sweet water lakes, and the threat that the loss of habitat is imposing on it. The museum is currently remodeling, but all its parts are open to the public. The tour, which takes about an hour, contains a video presentation, Axolotl art, and aquariums with the amphibian itself, accompanied by a thorough explanation of its habitat, reproduction, and biology. The entrance is 50 pesos, they accept credit cards. The only thing I was missing is a call to action.

Tour guide was very nice. But the attraction lacks presentation. The drive getting there was longer than the actual time we spent at the “museum”. There is literally 5 20 gallon tanks with 1 axlotle. Overal. Very low budget.

It was the perfect place to escape the busy environment of Mexico City. It’s a small but worthy museum. It’s the perfect place to take your children, especially young ones to learn and even see a Axolote. I loved the cafe that provides drinks and small eats. We will definitely be coming here again. It’s the cutest place! I would note that when taking an Uber, let your driver know you have to go through the gate to get your the museum. It’s a smaller museum that some local Uber drivers aren’t aware of and may drop you off down the hill!

Amazing place to learn more about such a unique animal! I consider it a must visit for anyone in the Mexico City area. You will learn about the destruction being done to this species' habitat in Xochimilco and what we can do to preserve them for the future. The staff is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Lastly, the axolotl's are ridiculously cute and fun to watch. This is a great place to start working towards axolotl conservation :)

Great experience for kids and grown ups. It’s a small museum but we had a great time. They play a video that explains their history and current situation. Therr are 7 tanks with 2 or 3 Oxolotls each. Different types to see. There’s a small food place for quesadillas and a souvenir shop. It’s a small place but it’s a good cause.

This museum is a must see. The axolote is such an amazing amphibian and such a vital part of its ecosystem. A bit difficult to get to but I took and Uber and it was well worth it.

Cute little museum where you can learn about axolotls and see some live ones. The video had English subtitles and was quite informative. Our guide also gave an explanation in Spanish which we managed to follow pretty well. They also had a bunch of axolotl-inspired art and a cute gift shop. It was a little out of the way (we took the metro and walked the rest of the way) but well worth the visit!

I was welcomed into the museum and received an informative guided tour. There were interactive explanations and a chance to see real axolotes swimming around

Amazing museum. Great guides. Bilingual video that shows why the axotole conservation is imperative to the ecosystem of true region. You see live axotoles and have a cool little food / drink spot at the end of the tour.

Nice but quite small. We saw the whole thing in 20 minutes. Not really worth the Uber drive there and back from Mexico City. Wish they had more educational materials and swag in the gift shop. Good educational video with English subtitles. Several axolotls of various colors in tanks.

If you like Axolotl this museum is a must. Of course it is small but they have a lot of different types of Axolotl and with the entrance of only 50 Pesos you get a guided tour and a lot of information about those animals and the people are also answering all questions you have. I could fully recommend this museum!

Very interesting. Is a wonderful place to learn about axolotls, enviroment and the staff is very kind and qualified. The biologist girl that gave us the tour is awesome and quite smart. A must to go place.

***VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND THE ENTRANCE*** You have to enter from the main street through a giant gate next to an auto repair shop. Just tell the gate guard where you're going and they'll open the gate for you. The museum is adorable! They show a video about the importance of axolotls and then give a guided tour. There were maybe only five or six total. But this museum is to spread awareness and raise funds for conservation efforts.

Must visit - me and my wife (in our 30s) visited knowing nothing about Axolotes and had a blast. Staff were very fun and taught us a lot 1 on 1 with a guided walk for the 50 pesos per person entry fee. Very important story and message! The displays, art, and aquariums were beautiful. The neighborhood is interesting, we walked around after and enjoyed seeing Elegant Euphonia and Bushtits.

Extremely adorable and cute. You can’t miss this place. Specially since they are going extinct :( Dont forget to visit the gift shop!
