Mixed feelings. The club is clean, staff is nice, and food is good. The problem....for most of the day, most food items are not included. Half way between a lounge and restaurant. The Platinum card is now $695 and hard to justify just to get me in a lounge that charges. Amex, it's a mistake to nickel/dime your customers.

Never experienced something like this in an American Express lounge. You have to make a reservation to get into the lounge if not you have to wait in line until they let you in. It must be cause of Covid but no where did i ever receive a notification through email or any other means of communication that lounges now require reservation.

The service was average, to US. I heard some waitress being super cool with other customers. But it was ok. A bit tiny facility. I asked for water and the first person never bought, I had to request again. Can be more AMEX expectations.

service was great food was good too. Saw some comments of people complaining about having to pay for food and drinks and I think that depends on which card you have. I have the platinum card and my wife and I both got a 3 course meal for free. If you look at the menu they have certain items have an * which indicate they are complementary with the platinum card. Drinks where included as well.

I visit this Centurion lounge at Terminal 1 (after security check) at CDMX quite often. To get inside you need a Platinum card and up.Usually you don't have to wait, the food is great, the service could be just a bit quicker; just order drinks if you’re in a rush, staff is polite and they provide great service. I never get disappointed by this Centurion lounge. There is another American Express lounge before security check, that one is also good, to get inside you need Gold card and up but the one after security check is better, you need Platinum and up for the one after security check.

It doesn’t feel like AMEX PLATINUM lounge. More like a small regular lounge. It’s usually busy and feels like sardines in a can. Everybody sits in front of each other - so you are looking at other people constantly what they eat or drink and can hear all conversations. No privacy.❗️Food is not free except carrots and chips. ❗️No bottle water.-They bring you a glass of water from who knows where and it’s still pandemic❗️Staff is overwhelmed so everything is delayed. Very disappointing with it. If you can - choose another lounge that at least has bottle water and some food to give you for the membership that you pay.

Very disappointing customer service, not what we expected from a Centurion level Lounge. Update from ⭐️ to ⭐️⭐️ for the great service of Mario. The rest stands. Same as last time, silly system of getting stuck with your table once seated, i.e. no way to move to another table if available. Also, seems like they assign the tables based on looks? Rather than customer preference or number of people in the party. The restrooms are downstairs. Very poor direction signs around the airport, and even worse accessibility for those with limited mobility, or with big suitcases. Hard to find the elevators. Plus, it’s on the far end of the hallway or co not convenient if you have a short layover with a gate on the opposite end.

This club is an absolute JOKE! Asked for a seat out of a the bar so I could work, charge my phone and was told in a very RUDE manner “that is not possible”! Yes, there are some tables that are marked for black card holders and I get that, but no need to be rude in your delivery. Member since 2008 and I am rethinking paying such high prices to be treated so rudely.

Better than the gate, but it’s nowhere near the standard you would expect from a Centurion Lounge. You can order a single appetizer, a single entree, and a single dessert, so chose wisely. Small portions of mediocre quality. Unlimited drinks are still available.

Nice lounge area set up by American Express, but it’s small and doesn’t provide much comfortable seating, thus feels more like a restaurant. The whole menu was complimentary for us as we were Platinum Card holders, but despite the food looking good on the eyes it is very average. The service from the waiters are good and attentive but they are very pushy in requesting tips, defeating the purpose.

I've been through my fair share of terminal woes, but stumbling upon this lounge was like finding a hidden oasis amidst the chaos. Let me break it down: the customer service here is next-level fantastic. I'm talking about the kind of service that makes you feel like you're not just another traveler; you're a VIP jetsetter. Now, let's talk food. You know that moment when your stomach grumbles and the airport options are limited to lukewarm fast food? Say goodbye to those days. At this lounge, it's like a foodie's paradise. From gourmet bites to a range of beverage options that you'd expect in a top-notch cocktail bar, it's all here and it's all on the house. Yes, you heard me right – complimentary grub and drinks that would put some fancy restaurants to shame. They've got you covered, whether you're craving a quick snack or a full-on meal. Here's the deal: when I'm at the Mexico City airport's Terminal 1, and this lounge isn't packed like a sardine can, it's my go-to spot. It's like chilling in a swanky living room that happens to be at the airport. So, if you're ever waiting for a flight and you find yourself in Terminal 1, don't hesitate to swing by the American Express Centurion Lounge in Mexico City. t's more than just a lounge – it's a pit stop for the ultimate travel experience.

Great American Express lounge, great choice of food and drinks. Dishes are small so you can try multiple. Very friendly service although speaking very limited English. Offers free 15 minute SPA: massage, beard trim or even manicure. Note the lounge is before security.

This is going to be a weird experience for you if you're used to Centurion Lounges in the US. 1. You have to pay for food. 2. There are waiters here instead of self-service. 3. Nothing is self-service. You have to ask for everything from a coffee or water to a small snack. Pros: it's less crowded than other Centurion Lounges, probably because it's awkward and not the experience most travelers come to expect. Seating is decent and the place is clean. Not worth showing up to the airport early IMO.

This has got to the the worst AMEX Centurion lounge there is. Other than the fact it is convenient if your gate is close to the location, there is nothing nice about this lounge. It is small and feels very claustrophobic. It is dark and crowded. There is no complimentary food. The service was off. There are apparently different locations of the centurion lounges at this airport and I think the other one might be nicer but I didn't see it because it was before the security checkpoint.

This lounge is by gate 17 - it’s not that easy to find via signage alone. This lounge is table service only, which is fine in theory. Unfortunately, in practice, service is a little all over the place and you can land up chasing two or three times for something you could simply have poured or plated up yourself. Very good wine list for a lounge, and fairly good food compared to the terrible food outlets that exist more broadly in MEX.

American Express is this really you????? I had to keep double checking that this was really a Centurion Lounge. Check in process is ridiculously SLOW. Small space and some food you have to pay for. They actually charge you for a club sandwich lol. Come on cheap american express. Not the experience I am used to or pay for.

Nicest / least crowded Centurion Lounge I've been in so far. This one feels a lot nicer than the one past security in Terminal 2, but the food is good in both.

Woke up this morning and noticed I had a big gash on my index finger. Victor at the front desk found and brought me a Band-Aid. Above and beyond. Much appreciated. I’ve always loved this club and now all the more. Good Chilaquiles, too!

This was my first time in this location, it’s small inside but with lots of sitting. Depending on the amex card you have, you might have to pay for the food, but if you have an Amex Platinum you won’t have to pay (only tip)! They have a great selection of food and drinks, we had some fruit and yogurt, eggs with turkey ham and some tortillas, and a plátano bread, everything was good and fresh. Before leaving, you have to sign your bill, even if you’re not paying anything! It was great to stop for some time and get some food and drinks.

Walked 20 plus gates to get to the Centurion lounge with my wife, her sister and one small child. They wanted to charge $50 extra for the child which I was willing to pay. Then we found out that there is no food, just drinks. Worse Centurion lounge I have ever been to. Don't waste your time. Grand lounge 19 was excellent. Located near gate 19, terminal one.

  • 4/5 Rio I. 4 months ago on Google
NEAR GATE 17! ( no signs to show where to go really). Only one person needs the Amex car and they can have a guest for free ( unlike USA where you have to pay an additional fee ) It’s not buffet - it’s sit down and order ( pros and cons to this obviously ) better food options but longer wait to actually eat. Even though menu has prices I believe those are only for a business card holder. We have platinum personal and didn’t have to pay for anything! Armando was our waiter and he was great! Friendly and got everything perfect!!

Horrible won’t describe this joke of a lounge. Sorry AmEx. This is a failure! Cannot find this lounge. Don’t try. The process of accessing it is also challenging. Inside it’s tiny. The bathroom can barely fit 2 people. Don’t bother washing your hands. Cannot get water to work in the sink.

As our server told us when we tried to order knowing there's a cost "food is not free." Clearly some people are surprised by a bill at the end of their meals.

We stopped in on our way to PV because we had an early flight and didn't have time to grab breakfast. The food was delicious. The coffee was hot and tasty. But what was especially good was the warm service from Jessica. She was so helpful and delightful. It made for a wonderful experience. Thank you so much for making our morning easy and special.

Cosy lounge with an extensive a la carte menu. The food they serve is of excellent quality. Service can be a bit lacking when the lounge get’s too busy however. Furnishings could do with a revamp.

  • 5/5 Dharm G. 1 year ago on Google
When we visited there was no hot food. The food and drinks, however were excellent. There is no charge for everything, but since everything is provided at your table your waiter will give you a zero balance receipt so you can tip her/him.

  • 3/5 Damon L. 1 year ago on Google
I don’t understand this place. There is no self-service but the service is poor. Some people received good service, others (like me) ignored. The whole experience is opaque - they don’t explain how to get drinks, order, how much you can order, etc. It’s just weird. Apparently they offer massages or use of the showers to some people, but it wasn’t clear how to request it. As with most Centurion Lounges, you can bring in two guests. If you have two guests, you can order three complimentary dishes… but if you are alone, just one dish. The food is a step up from typical lounge buffet food, but I left thirsty because I couldn’t get my own water and I had to chase down the waiter every time I needed more H20. I’m not sure if it is a bad lounge, but it is very odd. Go in with low expectations and maybe you will be surprised in a good way.

  • 1/5 Steph W. 1 year ago on Google
This lounge should make their policy clear that unlike all other centurion lounges, platinum corporate cards aren’t honored. Walked halfway across the terminal only to be told I’d be charged for both food and drinks after waiting in line. Horrible experience.

  • 5/5 Gordon T. 1 year ago on Google
I don’t normally review things but this one I had to for my fellow travelers. I’ve been to plenty of Centurion Lounges in the US but they are lackluster compared to the foreign AMEX lounges. The Centurion Lounge in CDMX is no exception, stellar on all fronts. The lounge offers hot menu dining (complimentary for AMEX Platinum users, Business Platinum will have to pay unfortunately). The bar offers a wide select of spirits and cocktails. The service is impeccable especially someone like me who does not Spanish but at least try to make an effort. The shower/spa was by far one of my favorite aspects of the lounge. I got a quick relaxing shower and felt amazing! You don’t get these perks in the US! I strongly encourage folks to stop by when they’re in CDMX. But do come early it does get filled up pretty quick.

  • 5/5 Laith A. 1 year ago on Google
It’s always nice to come here before the flight! The service, food and drinks are amazing, the team is super nice and they speak English. I love the chilaquiles they make for breakfast. It always clean, ♿️ and it’s accessible for people with disabilities and on a wheelchair. The only thing it started going back to be crowded and noisy.

Needs better service and consistency. The menu makes no sense. The complimentary dishes are confusing since they are on the main menu. You can order a starter and main, but only the soup starters. The salad starter is considered a main dish, although it under the "starters" section. After bringing this to the attention of the waiter, it became an issue, and we had to get a manager involved. It seems like the policy here is not, the customer is right, which is disappointing since The Amex Centurion Lounge is one of the biggest perks of the Platinum card.
