As soon as I arrived I could sense the staff looking down on me. You really get the feeling you're just a number to them, worth nothing more than the (expensive) cost to stay there. When they open the entrance for you they don't look up from the desks, almost looking away on purpose. At the bar they only smile at you when you're paying. And on that note, they ALWAYS charge 10% tip without asking. They also do not let you see the front of the card machine most of the time. In fact, a friend of ours (they are from Spain so fluent in Spanish) told me that they tried to double charge him for a drink because he ordered just after closing time. The toilet in our dorm smelt bad, like very bad. Don't get me wrong you will have a great time here, but it's only because of the other guests and the vibes they create. there are also a couple of lovely staff, like the guy who runs the parties and one of the bartenders, other than that, expect to get treated like a money machine.

Awesome spot with great events and good social vibe. Met some friends for life. Tours and nights out around the city and further afield were all great value. Beds are nice and private, the extra bathroom in each dorm is handy. So many cool little common spaces in nooks and crannies in the building. Special shout out to Kevin and Audrey who hosted us with events, and even took us out to their favourite salsa spot. Banging time.

great atmosphere, very nice staff. Great breakfast. We had the private suite, plenty of room. But it did get loud sometimes at night with thru traffic/people talking outside of the hostel. Also first couple nights we left the window/patio door open Bc the room didn’t have AC, and we were attacked all night by mosquitoes. However, when I went down middle of night to ask for a fan, staff was able to provide. With the fan on blast providing a “wind shield” on top of us. The mosquito no longer were an issue. Just to be sure though, we did try to keep the windows closed at night and also got mosquito sprays.

I stayed at Viajero CDMX for over a week when I first arrived to Mexico City, and I extended my stay three times as I loved it so much. The location was excellent, the private rooms beautiful, the food delicious and I met a lot of amazing people. The staff were so lovely and welcoming! My rooms were quiet and I slept really well. I can't recommend it enough and I would absolutely stay here again!

This place is lovely. I stayed in the Deluxe room I loved aesthetic and the bed was comfortable the shower was hot and the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was very sweet. The only con: sound really travels here you can hear people talk at night/music so if you're a light sleeper this may not be your spot. When I arrived music was playing slightly too loud ALL DAY and kinda hard to relax after traveling all day. The rest of the days were quiet afternoons. They do provide you with ear plugs which helps a bit and music seems to be off at 11. Not really sure how the weekend is here. Overall loved it.

The loveliest staff and stay, I felt quite attached to the hostel when it was time to move on! Nice and sociable too. Great location for getting to museums and other attractions. Their 6 flags theme park tour was the best ever and one I'll never forget and the market tour was great and how I made lots of friends.

I had a wonderful time staying here for three nights. I was really impressed by how the hostel made it easy to find things to do; they promoted local free walking tours and hosted their own tours, outings and events. They made it fun and easy to connect with other travelers. And the staff was very helpful! They were able to answer a lot of questions about food, local public transportation, safety and more. The accommodations were clean, there was hot water in the showers, the food was decent, overall I’d recommend this to both new and experienced travelers. The only complaint I heard was that the prices are much higher over the weekend, and some hostels in the area are cheaper on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Best breakfast I’ve ever had in a hostel. The staff was friendly and arranging. We stayed in a private room which was comfortable as we had our own bathroom. It was a bit noisy, but this is expected for a hostel. They provided ear plugs which were necessary at night. Location is super central and close to many tourist attractions. It is very easy to meet people in the common areas and with the many activities they provide. I would recommend this hostel mostly if you travel alone or with friends on a budget, a bit less so if you’re a couple looking for a quiet and intimate place.

Centrally located, friendly staff and comfy beds. I found food and drinks at the hostel a bit on the expensive side, but it was still good to have the option to purchase them if I felt like it. I would have liked to receive more tips from the staff on what to see and do (things that locals do as opposed to suggesting their organized tours). Overall, very good stay!

This hostel is lively and very welcoming. The staff is so accommodating and will answer any questions you have and give you the best recommendations. We arrived on Friday evening to a courtyard filled with music and mingling, and the party continued for just the right amount of time so that we could meet people and have fun but still get to bed by midnight. The other travelers are also generally young (22-30) and friendly. The hostel is gated and feels very safe. This was a perfect first hostel experience.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The front desk helped me with a variety of things from setting up my phone card to answering questions about the neighborhood. The restaurant and bar staff were helpful and liked to chat with the patrons. The bartenders also made the most amazing micheladas. I had my own room and private bathroom. It was clean. All the outlets worked. The water pressure was good.

Great staff and the hostel itself is very well run! Fun activities daily and good food. The location itself is convenient, however as you exit the hostel on the left it does get some dicey vibes after dark. But going to the right is a different story, and where you want to go anyway! Would highly recommend if interested in exploring the historic center!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Pros: loads of common areas, including access to couches, desks, outdoor tables, indoor tables, hammocks, bathrooms and showers, ping pong etc.; everything was clean and well cared for; really beautiful space with nice decor; nice and helpful staff; beds had easy access to power points. Cons: the dorms were super hot and there were no fans or air conditioning, so sleeping was quite uncomfortable.

Great location in the center of the city accessible to everything you need. Hostel was great lots of activities and there’s always something going on. Muriel was great to talk to and always answered any questions I had. Has their food couple times and it was ok I instead would go have meals at restaurants around the center or cooked my own food. Other than that this place was great. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Top-notched location with friendly staff. The activities were not too overwhelming and adequate to meet other travelers. I didn’t go on any tours but there’s always a reason to return. Rooms were well kept, lots of hanging hooks, full-size mirror, ample showers and toilets, clean space. Would definitely return.

Overall amazing experience. Extremely fun and social atmosphere, and the hostel has a lots of activities every day, including day trips, yoga, ping pong tournaments, Mario Kart tournaments, karaoke, dance classes. All have a very nice relaxed atmosphere. Special shout - out to Davide who coordinated a lot of these !! He was super friendly, helpful and professional. Rooms and beds are nice and comfy. Cleaning staff were very on top of everything. My only complaint with this hostel would be the food. It was quite expensive and usually not very nice. If you come here I would recommend getting your food elsewhere.

My stay at Viajero Hostel was great, there is a good atmosphere! The rooms and dorms are great, it is cleaned every day and there are lockers to be able to put your belongings in safety. Several activities are often organized. Adriana who takes care of the breakfast is cool and the rest of the team who works there too is super nice, I recommend

Good location and a great way to meet other travellers. The atmosphere is livy most evenings as there is normally something going on. The staff, however, were not so hospitable, they seemed quite hostile towards guests and barely smiled or acknowledged you, unless they wanted.you to spend money. When ordering food and drinks they also apply a tip automatically without asking you as they do not present to you the amount on the card machine before charging your card. Two guests informed us that a waiter had attempted to deliberately over charge them by double using this method. I would still recommend staying here to meet people but be aware the staff are not polite or trustworthy.

My stay here was fantastic. Definitely caters to the young adult crowd, yet I felt welcomed and comfortable. The front desk staff was attentive to the few needs I had and Kevin the server/bartender is great to chat with. The courtyard was lively, and my room was a peaceful retreat at the end of a day of sightseeing and walking the streets of Centró Histórico. Highly recommend :)

Wifi not reliable enough for working, calls dropped. Floors in the dorm were dirty with spills and dirt, I asked if it’s possible to mop and they didn’t in the 6 nights I was there. Besides these negative instances, the staff is really lovely and the hostel has tons of activities to get to know other travelers. The hostel is really great for socializing and has a fun vibe.

Beautiful and safe location, everything is in walking distance and everyone is extremely friendly. I also enjoyed the food that they serve very much. The hostel keeps you updated on different excursions of you don't already have an itinerary and there is plenty to see around the hostel since it's located in the historic center.

I stayed at this hostel for three nights and it was fantastic. I’m a slightly older traveller but the hostel has a nice blend of very young and people in their early-to-mid 30s and even older . The staff went out of their way to make Christmas feel special with a Christmas dinner. The location is near the historic center and close to everything. The facilities are first rate for hostels and have everything you need. A very social hostel and one of the best in the business.

This Hostel is Great! Especially if you like to meet new people cause here are a lot of activities you can do together and the area where the hostel is located feels safe. Loved to Stay here!

Its such a nice place! Through the activities in the hostel we met great people from all over the world who have become friends! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The vibe is nice and we always felt really safe as well. We would come back here immediatly. It has not even been a week but this place feels like home! Thanks for having us!

This was my first experience staying in a hostel and it was great! There’s always something going on everyday so you have lots of opportunities to get involved. I mostly got around on foot from the hostel because everything is rather close by. The staff are also very friendly and helpful with your queries. I would say however the bunk beds can be rather squeaky, so if you’re a light sleeper this could get annoying. Also, if you like to sleep early get really good ear plugs because the events in the hostel can be rather loud and sound travels well. But besides that I really enjoyed my experience.

Very friendly staff and vibes. This is a good place to meet fellow travelers and to take tours around Mexico City. This is very close to the national palace and zocolo. Plus they have very consistent cleaning schedules to keep all of the facilities clean. And in the dorms if your bathroom is full, you can use the communal bathroom options. Free coffee and tea all day was a great bonus along with the filtered water for free.

This hostel is very money focused. It's quite obvious as soon as you walk in their goal is profit. While a dorm bed is affordable everything else in the hostel is not. Food and drinks are very expensive, I paid 140 pesos for a breakfast (eggs, ham fruit) which clearly should be worth less than half that price. The hostel is also made for young fresh tourists who haven't really travelled much before, making it easier to get money out of them as they don't know what's what. Very American college like, young adults will be talking into the night and it can get very loud. On the plus side it's got good facilities, clean bathrooms and easy access to public transport and nearby attractions.

Overall I had a wonderful stay! The dorms were quite comfortable given the price point and facilities were well maintained and mostly clean. The Hostel also has daily activities and tours for those interested. It was also very lively during the day, but especially in the evening. Great to meet new people and socialize! I would definitely consider staying here again if ever in CDMX.

Lovely medium sized hostel with some great staff and activities to do. The beds are great and comfortable and they have breakfast and bar services. Anyways free coffee and tea too, plus a work space for nomadic workers.

GORGEOUS HOSTEL This was the prettiest hostel I've ever stayed at, it feels like you're in a Marquez novel. The only thing better than the rooms was the breakfast. Get the chilaquiles. The staff was super accommodating. Anything we needed they helped out with. 10/10 customer service If you're staying by the zocolo you want to stay here.

This is a nice little hostel just north of zocalo. I stayed a couple nights right when they opened and they were still working out the kinks (there were some wifi problems but they seemed to be working on it). It is pretty nice since everything is new and clean but I imagine it will also improve and become more lively later since there still seemed to be empty rooms and some construction going on. The beds are comfortable, with privacy curtains and have outlets and lights.

(Translated by Google) I spent five wonderful days on vacation in CDMX for the feast of the dead and I was surprised by a very authentic new hostel, with good food and a warm staff. The place is magical, comfortable and original. Your people are great. I recommend it and would always return to this place. In addition, the location is perfect, two blocks from the Zócalo from where I easily moved to La Roma and Condesa. The Viajero CDMX is one of the best hostels I've stayed in in Latin America - great stuff (perfect balance between a friend and professionalism), delicious food (a vast variety of options to choose from for breakfast, and outstanding flexibility provided by the staff), pretty court inside the building (like a little oasis in the middle of the vibrant city), great location, super comfy beds and blankets, co-working space, and, and, and! Highly recommended! :) Thanks to the entire team, especially to Omar!

  • 5/5 Jessica K. 2 years ago on Google
I really enjoyed my stay here! The beds are comfortable and they give you this nice comforter so you can stay toasty during those chilly DF nights. The showers are hot with great water pressure. The space is big enough to find somewhere to be alone if that’s your vibe or super easy to join a table and meet new people in the open space. Everyone that works there was soooo friendly, but I gotta give a special shout out to Omar cause he let me bother him all day with my questions and Uber eats mishaps.

Beautiful place in CDMX, I stayed there for 2 nights and I could have easily extended for more days. The staff is very friendly and accomodating, especially Alex and Omar and the female receptionist whose name I sadly do not know. The beds are comfy, they have free yoga in the mornings by one of the best teachers I have ever come across in my 10 years of practice. I loved it that there was free coffee and tea available, and the cleanliness is top-notch! I appreciated that although the music in the inner yard was on until 22 or 23, the noise died out completely by midnight. I slept like a baby the whole night. It would be nice to have fans in the dorms as they do get a bit warm at night and the internet was sometimes spotty, but overall a 5-star experience. Thank you for having me!

Thanks for a great stay at Viajero CDMX Centro! It was a great place to call home base for some time, with fun activities, interesting people, and a laid-back environment. The staff were kind and extremely helpful: honourable mentions to Omar and Rodrigo at reception, and Paulina at the bar who makes a mean margarita. Would recommend and stay again!

Really nice hostel to meet people. Quiet noisy and no A/C in the bedrooms so it's a bit warm in the dorms. But really nice staff, good activities and WiFi, hot showers, and really friendly flow.

Wonderful hostel, can only recommend. Good co working space, good beds, nice kitchen, although the stoves are slow to heat but works fine. One of the best hostels I've been to.

  • 5/5 Sam A. 2 years ago on Google
One of the best hostels I've stayed in. I was in a private double room and was taken back by how light and roomy it was, not to mention the quality of the bed. From the gorgeous courtyard where you can have a beer or breakfast, to the staff and general vibe, I couldn't recommend this place enough.

  • 5/5 Claudia H. 1 year ago on Google
Viajero Hostel in CDMX was great! They were all really friendly and helpful! The Rooms are made for a lit of people like 18 or 12 but you still have your own safety box and your own bed with privacy screen so that you cant see trough the beds of the others. The community space is very nice and comfortable with a real mexican flair! The breakfast us great and everything is clean. I really recommend it to you!

Pros: - The staff! They're friendly, helpful, and will use your preferred language. They were all very nice and seemed to make an effort to mingle with the guests (a lot of places there feels to be a separation). - Clean and well-designed - Nice restaurant and bar - Good assortment of daily activities! - Great check-in/out process - They use WhatsApp for questions and it works great - Location is right in the thick of old town - Good, fast, strong internet. Usually 20-30 down with strong coverage throughout the hostel. Cons: (I'm going to say there are no cons outright, just things worth looking out for depending on your needs and preferences) - Because of the design of this space, noise echos. The bar tends to play music until about 11pm and it can travel. If you're a light sleeper, need to work early, etc., this may not be the best spot. That said, it doesn't go all night and staff seems to be respectful of all needs. - Location. I know I put this in the pro section as well and it really depends what you're after. Centro is loud and busy. You're right in the middle of all the historical action, but for some, that's not ideal. Once nightfalls, it can become a little sketchy. The hostel is also on a walk-only street. Again, I love the location, but it's not for everyone.

  • 5/5 Luis Alejandro Armadillo M. 1 year ago on Google
This hostal is a total different experience. Is a big place with several option for guests: rooms with 8-14 beds or individual rooms, breakfast service, a little bar, game room, chill room and activities all the week like dance class (salsa and bachata) and lenguage exchange. For this same reason, the price can be a little high than other options with less activities, it's a worthwhile experience if you want meet friends from the moment one. If you only want to have a little space to rest and have a cheaper option, probably this isn't the best. For the breakfast the same, is good to have a fast option and don't struggling looking for, but you have several option in the zone for a better full breakfast. In summary this is a excellent place for a hefty budget, but no otherwise.

Definitely the best hostel I have ever stayed at. It’s extremely clean and the staff is great. Breakfast is amazing! Also, it’s super easy to meet people and make friends as a solo traveler.

My stay so far has been excellent I stayed in a twin room with my mum and it has been a clean and tidy room. The staff are especially helpful down at reception. We felt welcomed by Rodrigo and booked us a joyful day with a tour guide at the pirámides. And Diego has helped us with many questions and talked to us about visiting many different sites. Each morning at breakfast Adriana waited our table and was very attentive and efficient. Everyone has been so lovely and the hostel looks as good as the photos. A really nice taste when first arriving in Mexico.

Had a wonderful time here. The areas were all clean and the staff very friendly. It’s close to all the historical sites and museums. Couldn’t ask for a better introduction of the city. Paulina at the bar taught us to make a cocktail and was really a great experience. Adriana in the kitchen was quick at assisting all guests during meal times. They all both hard and always with respect and kindness.

New hostel, and on track to be a great hostel. Wifi didn’t work during stay, dog barking in courtyard, need fans in room. Free juice and coffee was great. Good coffee too! Hot shower, comfy bed, great location.

Loved Viajara Mexico so much. Our flights were delayed 24 hours and we couldn’t get in contact until the second day of our booking and they switched us over to the next day no worries. We stayed in a private room which was massive, with beautiful tall ceilings and a sleek bathroom. The staff hold heaps of social events and really make it easy to meet people. Social anxiety be gone! Was unsure about the location at first but it was great — close to so much food and the historic square. Couldn’t say a bad word about the hostel. Would absolutely return.
