This is an establishment at a great location, but with a real shady management team working there. They eagerly hire individuals from a federal halfway house because they know they can easily be taken advantage of because many don't have prior job experience. They eagerly disrespect their employees and under pay them. If they dare to complain about those conditions, they quickly get escorted out by security in an attempt to humiliate them and belittle them. Earnings and work morale are so disappointing that not even immigrants with fake documents will bother or waste their time getting a job there. Even though this venue is in a wonderful location, you will notice that there is a negative vibe to it that tends to attract clients of the same level. November 21 2023 update!! Clevelander management has called Riverside House halfway house and claimed that I was extorting them all because when I left the job and I said I was going to make a review on Google of the humiliation that I went working there as an employee trying to start my life over in the honest and honorable way. In a free Society that we call America we have the right to express our fifth amendment rights of freedom of expression.and opinion, and now I'm potentially facing prison time for that I am now homeless and facing a new federal charge my court date is November 27 2023 and my future and freedom is uncertain just because I exercised a civil right. If you have any doubts that this is false, I will more than gladly send you the legal documents to validate the realities that I'm going through. By being a client of The Clevelander Hotel and/or restaurant, this is what you are supporting as a guest or client at that location, in South Beach in The United States Of America!!

I didn't stay at the hotel but my wife and I had one of the most fun nights ever at the bar. We just happen to stroll up on a Monday night. It was our 5 year anniversary. We thought we would have a drink or two and then leave. Boy was I wrong! The band was setting up when we got there and come to find out, it was a live karaoke band and they are absolutely amazing! They have a wide selection of songs to sing and you can be a part of the band. It was totally unexpected and such a great vibe. We stayed all night. Also, Alisha the bartender was taking care of us the whole time and she was absolutely amazing. All of the staff were very friendly. We will definitely come back! I wish I knew the name of the band. I forgot to ask.

First, let me start by saying that we booked our reservation in Jan 2023. We we stayed there on April 20-23, 2023. We were notified 1 week prior that their pool would be closed throughout our stay for maintenance only because we had booked a pool party package. So we then called and had our rooms discounted because of the inconvenience. What we weren't told was that the entire downstairs area was under construction. We had canceled the pool party reservation as you can't have a pool party without a pool. Next, the rooms were tiny and appeared nothing like pictured. If you are planning on traveling with more than 2 people, you NEED 2 rooms as you will be on top of one another. There were no dressers to unpack your clothing. The closet was tiny with barely anywhere to hang your stuff. the bathroom toilet was within 5 feet of the bed with only a sliding door between the two, so barely any bathroom privacy. The worst thing was the noise at night. The music was blaring loud in the rooms if you stayed poolside. I was very disappointed with the hotel itself. The staff was, however, quite friendly, especially Joel. We arrived earlier, so we promptly switched our room for early check-in. He gave us one round of daquris when we checked in. He gave use unlimited towels whenever requested. He was also the person who discounted the rooms. The staff did make the stay itself better. The club at night also played awesome music and the drinks were very good. We did enjoy easy access to the outdoor club. It was a great time. The location was also superior. 1 block from the ocean and within walking distance of multiple restaurants and nightlife. I wouldn't stay there again, but I'd definitely go there for drinks at night.

Went to this bar on a Saturday night because it seemed to be popular and playing good music. We sat down at an open table which we were informed was "bottle service", though there was no clear signage or direction to indicate that. We then moved to a new area and were not help for 20+ minutes. We decided to go the bar and get our own drinks after not being helped or acknowledged at all. When we can back to sit down we were approached by an extremely rude waitress who told us we could not sit in her section unless we open a tab. We nicely asked if we can open a tab after finishing the drink we had. She gave us a dirty look and walked away. When we asked for a food menu she gave us another dirty looked then proceeded to throw the menu on our table in passing. She then had security come up to our table and acuse us of being rude to her. Horrible service, overpriced drinks, would not recommend.

I brought my brother to the Clevelander as his one and only vacation. He has terminal cancer and I wanted him to be able to party while he still had some life left in him. I definitely picked the right spot! It's such a fun and friendly atmosphere with great music playing constantly. The drinks are pretty epic, and they are served by beautiful people of all shapes and sizes. This place is where it's at! I'll definitely be back or my husband and with friends and basically any chance I get!

Had a fantastic afternoon and evening out here! I can tell you the drink prices more than double after the afternoon crowd clears out and the night owls swoop in. Met some great people saw dance moves I've never seen before, also saw same move go wrong. Good music, great light show, can't wait to come back. Also the chicken tenders were fantastic!

The rating is for the location and the friendliness of the staff, specifically Dan. Not the rooms(more on that later). If you are looking to be in the middle of all that South Beach has to offer, this is the place to be. Across the street from the beach and next to good restaurants and bars. The food down at the pool bar is surprisingly good as well. However the rooms are small and not fitted with the amenities one is used to. The rooms are basically a square with a small shower and restroom. We weren't in the room long enough to care though as we were there to hit the streets and not relax in the room. But to those that are, just be aware.

First things first, this is a hot tourist spot so their prices for drinks are high and there’s an automatic 20% service charge. That said, we always have a great time here! This year we celebrated my husbands birthday. On Saturday there was a pool party with a DJ and an MC who had a lot of activities going the whole time we were there. I drank Kiss My Peach which you can add a shooter of Tito’s. It was full of people and we were still able to get a seat at the bar. Our bartender was great. On Sunday it was quieter, there weren’t that many people because it has rained. This time we had a blue rum drink- see photo. They had a DJ and we danced the whole time we were there. We also tried the chicken fingers which were great and the nachos which were ok. Our bartender was great!

The Clevelander probably serves the most alcohol of any bar in Miami Beach. It’s also at the forefront of the opposition to limit alcohol sales to 2:00 am (just to be clear, I’m opposed to limiting alcohol sales until just 2:00 am — this is Miami Beach and…well…people come here to party). I’ve passed by The Clevelander probably 10-12 times but it was always extremely crowded and loud, so didn’t have the courage to step in. This time, I was here on a drizzly Thursday night; thanks to the rain, there weren’t as many patrons and the crowd was quite subdued. We sat in one of the side bars that had a roof to keep out of the rain. An NBA playoff game was being aired and it was nice to have 2-3 TVs to be able to watch it live. One would think that a place that serves so much alcohol would be able to make a simple Old-Fashioned. One would be wrong. The waitress was honest enough to say they don’t have bitters to make me an Old-Fashioned. The cocktails that they do serve are all sugary frozen ones. The kind that cater to the 21- and 22-year olds. We took the safe route and stuck to beer. My friend’s beer was on draft. Mine was out of a can, but the waitress didn’t bother to bring a glass so I could at least pour it out — $10 for a can of beer that one has to drink out of the can. Ordered fries: they were fresh and crisp. When the invoice arrived, they had charged us $2 extra for sweet potato fries although we had only ordered regular fries. The service was very slow, so we didn’t bother for the waitress to return. If you like loud crowds and frozen sugary cocktails with mediocre service, you’ll like this place. Otherwise, there are hundreds of great bars in this lovely city. Do a little digging and you’ll find many gems —- even on Ocean Dr.!

After having a few poor experiences with other servers, the last 2 times my wife and I have visited our server has been Nicole. She was absolutely fantastic!! She’s attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and well taking care of. The menu recently changed and I wish I could give a 5 star review but the food portions are small and fairly expensive for what you are getting. The drinks are always a hit but they seem to be getting weaker and smaller and more expensive with every visit.

We chose this hotel because it was in the middle of everything. There are a lot of hidden fees that were not in the fine print at time of booking. The clerk that checked us in was in total agreement that policy needs to be updated. Housekeeping does not empty trash cans daily or supply clean linens daily. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bar staff were upbeat and professional. Food was great . Elevator really slow. However, I would recommend to a friend .

Part of what you pay for here is the atmosphere- they have two small pools and a large, very well decorated patio with two large bars, all fenced in, right off the beach. It's a place to see and be seen. They even had a DJ on a Sunday night in December. The drinks were super basic, and expensive at $20-25 a pop, but that's not really the reason to go.

Floor of my room wasn't clean, sand everywhere. When room was cleaned, floor still had sand and water bottles werent replaced. Front desk was helpful depending on the person. Morning guy was great, evening girl not good at customer service. Location can't be beat, but it's not worth it given the price.

Clevelander has really lost its touched as a local I like coming here cause I enjoy interacting with tourist and certain bartenders are great but today really turned me off. I came for happy hour with my friend since we have been to Clevelander since the beginning of time and it is my birthday. There was literally not one customer except my friend and I in there and we stayed waiting at the table about 15 minutes to not be attended mind you after being advised by one bartender that we had to sit at the tables for the happy hour. There was one manager eating a cookie walking around on the phone made eye contact with us several times and did not even have the decency to greet us. The manager, 2 servers and bartender were in the front chit chatting the whole time. The irony is there was a visit going on with general managers during the same time frame. Anyways very disappointing when confronted the manager he just shrugged

The hotel was decent for the most part. I will say if you someone who doesn't like any noise when you are sleeping then you might want to find something else. The room I was in, I could hear the music, but that didn't bother me except for the first night. Some people in my group who had double beds and were located closer to nightclub said the music and vibration were extremely distracting. Overall, it's not a bad place to stay at.

I had the absolute best time at this hotel. Not to mention the exquisite customer service. Joel is the manager at the front. He was awesome. I think that was his name. He looks really young and he’s very professional. The hotel was clean. It was fun I would definitely refer it to someone.. when we came in, we were offered margaritas, or wine the people were very friendly. I was leaving there to check into another hotel, and I was not happy about it because I had so much fun.! if you are on South Beach looking for a nice reasonable hotel, I would definitely suggest the Clevelander I’ve been to Miami dozens of times I have stayed at some of the nicest hotels. My experience at the Clevelander has definitely been one of the best.

The bar has a nice outdoor patio with original mid century seating areas and look. The waitstaff and security were super friendly. The drink prices are high, which is not unexpected for ocean drive but a bit high for something served in a plastic cup. My main complaint was that they add a 20% ‘service charge’ for drinks which according to the waitress was not a tip so we had to tip on top of that. So be prepared to pay at least 30% more than the menu prices.

The rooms are very basic, water pressure was low, hot water was limited...you're literally paying for the "location "..Free breakfast is a piece of bread and a beverage, lol....towels were never available (I asked 3 different times on different days)....For what they charge per night, just get an air bnb, you'll get more for your money

Went for a couple drinks on a Friday around 6pm.The place was pretty busy but not packed. Really cool establishment with a DJ and cool light show. Waited for 15 minutes for drinks while bar staff ( some filling orders, others talking amongst themselves ) seemingly ignored us. Finally someone who just came in behind the bar greeted us and took our order. After that the service was good, even as it got busier. I would still recommend and will return despite our initial impression.

If you're looking for an awesome Miami beach vibe, the Clevelander Lounge is the place to be. The music is loud and energetic, creating a lively atmosphere. The bottle service is decent, although a bit pricey, especially for sombreros lol. The dance floor is fun, but it would have been even better if the pool was open. Definitely a great place to go for a party!

I loved this place, the staff there were amazing. They went above and beyond to get you what you needed. The back part of the place has a big party patio. That’s really cool. I would definitely stay here again. It’s a great location to a lot of cool places are in walking distance. The beds were very comfortable too. I called front desk because I thought the AC wasn’t working, but realized I just needed to find the box to turn it down, but they instantly offered to give us another room. Great customer service.

The food was pretty good and fresh to order. Seemed understaffed as service was spotty, it was super busy. The atmosphere was good outside ceiling fans, so it was comfortable outside. Location very much Overpriced and gratitude already added in. As a customer not used to having gratuity already built in. Asked for water and was charged for 2 bottles of water, which came to the table warm.

Enjoyed my visit at the Clevelander for this Art Basel weekend. The music, service, food & drinks were great. Loved the staff (servers & managers), and their upbeat energy. Especially one specific staff member, Howard who was working security one of the nights during my visit (Big guy but very welcoming energy). He was a very polite and pleasant individual, who thanked everyone for coming as they left and also let visitors know it was a pleasure having them. I would highly recommend this location for anyone visiting South Beach Miami.

Rooms were a little bit outdated but the price is perfect for what you get. The pool area was where the party was and Juan service was the best part He recommended a burger that has won awards kush burger by far the best burger I’ve had, it has guava potato sticks cheese ! Definitely going back for that burger, he also recommended me a new drink the Paloma was very good bartender made it with love because one cup got me feeling it. Bill was about 53$ but that’s the price you pay at the beach ! Thank you Juan and Clevelander for a wonderful time in Miami will be coming back very soon

Rooms are very small, no fridge, very outdated. Beach chair located 20thst so far away from hotel.. The best part about this hotel location, great entertainment, sports bar, very lively. Me and my husband had ball every night at the poolside bar.. would stay again if they update inside hotel but, over all its a partying place

I'm only giving this hotel 3 stars based on the location. The front desk guy was very nice. I think his name was Joel. He was very cool. However, this hotel definitely needs to be upgraded. The rooms are extremely small, and there's no fridge in the room. The cleaning staff only made up one bed. The food is really over priced. The nightly parties was fun, and the dj was really good. I just think for the price point it really needs to be upgraded.

This place was a good place to stay. If you’re a social bug and love to bar hop you must stay here. Super clean and the staff were great! Only bad thing about this place and I don’t blame Clevelander for it but there is not parking with this hotel. You have to pay 30+ to find parking for one night. So if you plan on staying in Miami for more than a day or two I would not recommend this place because of the pay to park literally everywhere.

Awesome bar! Great music, atmosphere and vibe. Came from Houston to Miami for Labor Day weekend. First time here drinks are reasonably priced. The music is very millennial like. Definitely will be coming back. Sadly the rain came down and we left. The promoter came up to us and welcomed us to Miami. loved the atmosphere let’s go Houston 🤘🏻!

Great place in the middle of south beach to stay, its close to the beach and several bars and restaurants, as well as has its own outside bar which had great drinks and amazing music. The only downside to this hotel is the AC sucks it was hot in our room due to the AC barely pushing any air out. We called the front desk and they sent someone to look at it which did not do any good all he said was that its on. I would stay here again but only if they do something about the level of air being pushed in the room.

The only reason I’m leaving a 5 star ⭐️ is because the lady Ms Gwen. She was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to have waited on us. She is the absolute BEST the other service/server by the pool we had was so rude. But thank you Ms Gwen for your hospitality you are one awesome lady. You made our stay in Miami, if we return it will only be because of you. Keep up the Good work

Great party spot. I didn't stay here but I do drink here and the drinks are pricey but that's south beach. The drinks were good depending on the bartender. They also have hookah. The pool need a little maintenance but the DJ makes the party. Also excellent location.

Roaches in Room 303 Hotel need a deep sterilization. Entry walkway doors, elevator buttons, and high traffic areas are FILTHY Rooms are literally roach motels (very poor quality, style, functionality) I’m disgusted as a paying customer. Rooms are not cleaned. No luggage rack in rooms, hard thin towels, no pen, black out dungeon tarps are extremely dirty and dusty The amazing staff should really consider working at a more suitable establishment. Great location & party scene, complimentary bike rentals were nice, However none of that matters because it’s overshadowed by roaches in the room. Now keep in mind, if there in Room 303 , then they’re in room 304, 305, 306 ok you get my point, right? Book another hotel. I will NEVER stay here again and have shared my sentiments to everyone in the airport , car rental facility, social media, review forums, at work here in LA, etc. The owner(s) of this hotel is/are responsible and need to address these concerns immediately

Loved this hotel. It was very boisterous and loud and if music doesn't bother you till 3am (we all slept through it) its a great place to stay, the beach is right across the street. Everything is walking distance.

  • 5/5 Elham D. 2 years ago on Google
I wanted to give 4 stars because of the uncomfortable mattress and there is no coffee maker in the room! But I Am So Happy with everything else! The front desk and staff are so nice, respectful, and welcoming (all of them specifically Jamal)! Location is great! Have short walking distance to good bars, restaurants, cafe! It has a great bar plus DJ! One thing so cool: Shower is awesome:) Don’t forget to get your free coffee and croissant! It’s amazing so yummy which comes with butter and jam!

Ended up finding this place unintentionally on a Monday afternoon. Just wanted to grab a quick drink and bite to eat before heading to the airport. I don't remember her name but the bar tender was great! Excellent service! However, the drinks were way over priced. Over $20 for a frozen drink another 8 for a carona and 20something for a kids meal looking chicken strip basket and fries. I personally didn't feel like the price matched the quality but I also know in an area like that, this was probably about the average for the same thing else where. While sitting there we looked up the room rates and amenities and they have great photographers.. the pictures portrayed this beautiful state of the art looking building with an updated pool and all the other pretty things you'd want to see at Miami Beach but the pool was located next to the public bar. Just to clarify there was 2 out Door bars but both were accessible from the street. Maybe I'm just being nit picky but if I were spending over $200 a night somewhere I'd like to have access to a bar that wouldn't have the potential of getting packed from street traffic. Thats not to say they didn't have a guests only bar on property somewhere but it was not next to the pool which seemed odd to me. Please keep in mind I'm not a fan of the fast paced, up all night every night big city life. And we were there on a random Monday afternoon with maybe 8 other people sitting at or near the bar in total so it could be totally different if it was an occasion that warranted high occupancy. Maybe they do utilize one or part of the bar for guests, I didn't ask. This is simply my documented experience from a Monday afternoon.

Always a pleasure when in South Beach to visit Clevelander's around the pool & art deco bars lit up w/music, a burger & some wine. An icon of South Beach, a must!!!

My friends & I went for the PLAY POOL PARTY. It was free & fun! We met some really amazing people there. There were so many bachelor & bachelorette parties in attendance, so you know the crowd was hype. HAHA!! We didn’t know what to expect going in, but it fun and the DJ played a good mix of music. We were definitely able to dance & twerk the whole time. 😆 The drinks were good. A little pricy (which is expected on Ocean Drive), but good & very refreshing in the heat. I would definitely come back!

To begin, when I arrived at the hotel to check in there was no one behind the front desk for 5-10 minutes. There was no mention of the parking situation when the hotel was booked either. The walls feel rather thin and I could hear everything going on down the hall. In addition to that, the music outside was rather loud as well. The room was shaking making it rather hard to get any decent rest. There was no blanket on the bed, only two sheets (one of which had a stain of some sort that could've been blood). The room has a modern look that is rather stylish. The hotel lobby was nice as well but generally speaking, I don't think i would stay again.

  • 3/5 kina b. 2 years ago on Google
It was decent. We came there an hour before it closed so the party simmered down. The cover charge was only $10 which was great.

  • 4/5 Xavia D. 2 years ago on Google
The staff is excellent smiles and provide great services. Negative is they force you to watch TV at their bar areas nothing/minimal available in the room when your relaxing. Rooms comfortable...if you want to rest do not get pool view as music and lighting until midnight or later on weekend...It is truly a party hotel...No complaints about that.
