Just right now one of the receptionists came into the room to check into the ac, he grabbed my 200$ Oakley shades and was leaving when I called his attention. He turned to me nervous and then, like it was not enough, he dropped these. It seems that this dude knows how to steal but he doesn’t know how to implement safety measures when a guy having a deep wet cough, completely sick, was put in this room. He said that it would be discrimination. It is a health safety issue. And I’m so glad that I was in my bed when this employee grabbed my shades. What excuse is he going to say? First of all, you don’t grab nobody’s belongings and then you don’t leave with these in your hands. His name is Lucas. PATHETIC!

The hostel is rough around the edges and grimy. However it has all the basics covered. They can definitely use a renovation, especially in the bathrooms. The room and general areas need to be better maintained overall. It was a place to lay my head for a cheap price but I spent the visit worried I would get bed bugs (it seemed possible given the state of the room and hostel) didn’t see any myself though. If you have the option financially, I would look elsewhere. The location is wonderful though. Could really be a gem if they cleaned it up more. Also the front desk seems generally understaffed. The staff were lovely and kind. The cleaning people were doing their best. Not their fault the hostel is a mess, I believe it’s an ownership issue

Ariana at the front desk is nasty and she's also the boss' girlfriend so is untouchable (and behaves like it). She evicted multiple black Americans and refused to explain why. Staff have drama with each other, one staff had a physical fight with guests (where police were called) and he wasn't even fired, same staffer threatens to bash different guest, dirty bathrooms, no stove. One staff told me the boss distrusts black people and puts them on a “do not allow/extend” list.

Most likely my worst hostel experience. Only, check-in, check-out and staff were flawless. The hallway smelled like weed. We had booked 2 beds in a 4 bunk bed mixed room. We booked the same day and there were no other beds booked in the room we chose. However, when we arrived, one bed was taken by a guy that arrived already 3 days ago - should be impossible given that all 4 beds were open to book on the website. Bad luck for us. The room itself was dusty and smelled musty, my partner had difficulties to breath. The fan was turned on and had a thick layer of dust. The aircon is extremely loud and I mean it. There are only 3 lockers for 4 people but they are so small you don’t even fit a small backpack in there (a shame because the room would be big enough for bigger lockers) and 2 of the 3 were broken so you couldn’t attach a lock. The worst part is the bed. As usual in the US you had to make your own bed. But there were stains and hair all over so it was really disgusting to do and to sleep in. The pillow was the worst due to it‘s color and hair on it and the filling made you think there are rats inside. The people don’t make the experience better, mostly men in their low 30s, no typical hostel person in this hostel. Main language is Spanish, I have only heard few people speaking English. Also, things are labeled in Spanish at the breakfast area, where there is a coin dozer btw - who would put such thing in a hostel? Breakfast was included but extremely simple. Filter coffee, cornflakes and toast with syrup (no butter!). Apparently there should be waffles too but the iron was broken that day. A second star because of location, price and staff, but please don’t go there if you don’t absolutely must.

The place is very old. It has no maintenance. Breakfast is extremely basic and short. Only one hour and very early. The rooms: ugly, the beds have no curtain to have your privacy like in ANY hostel in the world. They give you the sheets and you have to make your own bed. The bathroom, dirty and old, the shower almost no water came out. Do you want to keep your suitcase under lock? They charge you $6 because they don't have luggage lockers in the room. You choose to either pay $6 per day per item or risk being robbed. It's cheap, but not worth it.

I had a bad experience with this hostel. I would not advise booking here: - they take money from your account without telling you. - they almost never respond to emails and if they do, their responses are entirely in sentence fragments and laced with spelling errors. Overall, very poor customer service. It's better to stay somewhere more reputable yet more expensive.

I stayed for the experience. There was a college dorm type feeling. I paid $20 for a bunk bed and a warm shower. No complaints. I used a $20 cash deposit and the funds were returned the next day after I brought back sheets, towel and door card. The location was great, two blocks from the strip and beach. I gave 2 stars because upon my arrival the owner asked to see my driver's license stating they do not allow locals to stay. He aggressively took my license away from the front desk personnel to state this. It was a weird confrontation. I sat in the lobby and the same treatment wasn't given to anyone else. Weird. Based on my conversation with other patrons, many are locals. I parked at the $20 a day lot. It took me 7 minutes to walk to the garage. I left my luggage and just carried a backpack. Bring a lock for the locker in the room to store your items. You meet people from all walks of life. The breakfast was waffles and cereal. I spent $40 total for the night. Miami Beach with Covid-19 pandemic but it's the same feeling. There are tourist and locals. They advocate face mask.

Poor hygiene. Bad organization. The on duty manager made us do the rounds of the rooms to check if the beds are available. The place reeked of shady stuff and I'm not sure if the linens are ever changed. The toilets aren't cleaned either.

Building: Not the nicest hostel and the pictures on their website are semi-deceptive. Staff: Very helpful and kind! 5 out of 5 stars! Policies: Weird policy that requires a passport. But, outside of that, it’s fine.

I spent an hour in the lobby checking in after booking online. When I got in my room I had to go back to the front desk to get a new room, the AC was down and that room was supposed to be closed (probably 90+ degrees in there). The next room they put me in was absolutely infested with roaches. Turn a light on at night and watch 10-15 scatter. There were so many I was woken to them crawling on me The people were nice, proximity to the beach. But you can't really relax and get a good night sleep with all these bugs. I wish I could post the pictures I took, several have 2 or 3 roaches in one picture. They were all over Wifi didn't really work, occasionally it would briefly connect but not long enough to get anything done. Also not sure why a housekeeper walk in my room at 830am and woke myself and 4 other people up, asking if we were using the shower...? Really uncomfortable stay

this Hostel is very dirty and disgusting. just 1 time housekeeping in my 4 days stay and they came only when i asked them to come and clean. bathrooms without shampoo and soap. the bed, pillows, sheets, blankets and towel are very dirty and smells bad. the hostel staff are nice but they ask money for everything ( change towel or sheets, store luggage, receive amazon delivery). check out was at 11 am at booking.com but at the hostel they let you sign to check out at 10 am sharp, otherwise they will take the deposit. a lot of dirty and old stuff from previous guests in the room and they didn’t remove them. i warn everyone not to stay in this place because it’s very dirty.

!!!READ THIS!!! This Hostel is not what it is from the picture you see. Some of the pictures are 4 years old. The rooms are very small and the same goes for the bathroom. Also it is very dirty everywhere. The rooms and bathrooms are not clean and the conference room where you can hang out and eat your breakfast is also really dirty. Heard from other guest that they let homeless people sleep there and apparently people can bring they pets. Only positive thing is the location but for this price it's shameful. If you like it dirty, like to sleep with homeless or pets that you might allergic to than this is the place to be. Worse hostel I ever stayed in.

If you are looking for simply a cheap place to stay that isn't overly nice cause you aren't going to be there much look no further. That being said the cleanliness or rather lack there of, the water pressure, and the other facilities leave alot to be desired. The beds where comfy but squeaky, but the pillows where stained and the sheets very thin. The shower was a joke, I had to wash my hair in the sink because the pressure was so weak. The toilet bowl (clean water) leaked on the floor so we all were slipping and sliding on the floor in there. There was no soap in the bathroom and the blinds were broken. (And yes people could see in a bit.) The only truly redeeming quality of this place is its staff. There were lovely and as helpful as they could be all things considered. They were extremely helpful and friendly always willing to recommend something to do or a place to go if you ask. They were truly terrific.

I was hesitant to go to Hostel but after I upgraded my room to private room I was relieved. Front desk is Very Helpful especially Sage he totally made it smooth and easy in every way possible. The manager Rudy was my true savior but I will keep it under radar only for those who knows my Hollywood story. Housekeepers kept the rooms SPOTLESS daily and always did special favors. Michael, Sage, and Genarro, and Nicolas offered amazing customer service at the front desk. I had a chance to stay at the hostel last week in November. It wasn’t bad but would not stay there again. Since then I haven’t received my deposit back. They stopped answering my mails even they asked me to contact them if I will not receive it. Looking at the reviews, I’m not the only one with such case. Pay more and stay somewhere else.

The rooms have roaches. The bathroom is disgusting and have a foul odor. I bought a week worth of food for someone to steal or toss. Management was no help 🙄🖕🏽, but It’s okay because my last day here I’m throwing everyone food away 🤷🏽‍♀️. You can smell the sewer in the area. The hostels in Miami have gotten out of hand over the last few years. Won’t get anymore of my hard earned money.

Worst hostel I have ever been to. A big part of the guests are either workers or immigrants who are looking for a permanent place to live in which goes against the principle of a hostel. You always have to be careful in your room cause one of your roommates may sleep because she works later… The atmosphere is therefore not really pleasant. The service is really slow and not customer oriented. I didn’t even get one smile from the staff in a 5 days stay. Do not consider that there is wifi because it doesn’t work. The location and the breakfast are the only positive points I can give to this hostel.

Terrible, I couldn't sleep the nights i was there, the Ac were too noisy and they weren't working cause it was still so hot while I am 176 pound. Someone stole clothes of my friend in our room, a lot of alcoholic in this hostel, the employees from the desk were messy and working terribly not professional, they used to send a 5th person in our room of 4 beds, then one of them was on the way to kick me out while my check out day was 2 days after because he even didn t check if i ve changed of room because of fights in my precedent room, that his co worker changed me of room. This hostel attract so many homeless, people stole food from others, police often came, and the social distancing is not at all respected. 80 % of guests were often without mask. AC NOT WORKING STAFFS TERRIBLY NOT PROFESSIONAL EXPECT YOUR STUFFS EVEN CLOTHES BEING STOLEN EXPECT YOUR FOOD BEING STOLEN AND SMELL HANG OVER PEOPLE EVERY NIGHT AT THIS HOSTEL only the location is ok. But even cheap with 19Usd + Tax to your cheap price, it s not worthy in fact at all.

The location is fantastic! But apart from that, the place is filthy dirty, mould in the bathroom, beds are noisy everytime someone moves they squeak, old building is falling apart, light in the bathroom didnt work, loud street and people in our room coming and going constantly throughout the night, barely got any sleep over our stay, staff look like they hate their job, cockroaches in the room and bathroom, undesirable people constantly hanging in and around the hostel at all hours, had a clearly unwell and sick person put in our room who was coughing everywhere for 3 days, Wifi is terrible, "kitchen" is barely one. Dont be fooled by the photos. My partner and I have backpacked around the world and stayed in more backpackers hostels than we could count and this horrendous excuse for a "hostel" is by far the worst. This is not a hostel with a vibe like you will find in Asia, Australia or South America. Theres something to be said when my fiancè, a seasoned solo female traveller didnt feel safe here!! Avoid at all costs!!!

They charged me a fee in order to extend my stay. If i wanted to avoid the fee I'd have to pack, leave the room and check in again at 3pm. Strange experience. A lot of street noise too but it's SoBe so that's expected. A wall of smokers at the front door every night.

This place is a classic Miami hostel. As a female solo traveler I definitely felt unsafe but should have known what I was getting into with the price. All that being said, rooms are “cleaned” everyday but still have a general dirty feeling. The common spaces feel dirty and I didn’t feel very safe there. In addition, they told me I would get my deposit back and it pended on my account for 5 days and fell off so I had to create a report for my credit card to get it taken care of. The front desk was not helpful when I called and tried to get them to refund it back. All in all, if you are trying to save a buck and just need a place to rest your head then definitely stay here. I will say the front desk guy Bobby was super nice and helpful 👍🏼

This place is trash, save yourself the trouble and the headache. I HIGHLY recommend Freehand further north or The Generator. The Freehand has an amazing courtyard with a pool and an outdoor bar with a restaurant. This place is just a hole in the wall to be honest, very dirty. Don’t stay here.

this was my first experience staying in a hostel and South Beach Rooms & Hostel set the bar SUPER high. they were extremely accommodating and extremely friendly!! the hostel wasn’t gross either, very clean and i felt safe the whole time i was there. the two guys running that place are so so great i recommend anyone traveling to miami and needing a hostel to stay HERE!! thanks so much guys for making a bad vacation a lot less bad :) 10/10

Most of the staff is amazing. Cleaning is not on the main priority Kitchen doesn't even have cutlery or stove. Breakfasts are for free but only from 7-8 AM. My bedroom had loud music from the tattoo shop below from 10Am till 2Am, room 23. Police is a usual thing at this hostel, there's always something weird going on.. I would rate 1 star but made amazing friendships and staff again is amazing.

I have different points about this hostel. 1/ location is the best in south Beach Miami. It's just 2 blocks to the beach between ocean drive and Washington Ave. So it's perfect! 2/ staff (Elias and Flor) are amazing and so friendly to help you and give you recommendations about places to buy food or anything do you need. 3/ rooms are good and clean but sometimes a little noisy cause they are over street. 4/ breakfast is good but so early! 😑 5/ price is a little expensive but it's the best location in south Beach 6/ it's the only one hostel in Miami with kitchen or place to cook food. This point is really important!! Cause if you take food in restaurant every day is too much expensive in Miami. 7/ you can use living room and community areas to relax and play with your friends. 8/ if you are travel alone I recommend this place to get new friends!! They speak SPANISH and ENGLISH!❤️

Big NO! I went there last month with my friend. It was so disappointing. We shared a room with guys ( BIG mistake). One of our roommates was kind of out of his mind and one night came and threw up in the room, it was disgusting. If you are a woman MAKE SURE you will book with women, this is not the hostel to book with men. I had a mixed-room hostel experience before and it was great and safe! This one is the opposite, beware. The whole experience was a big NO and we wouldn’t recommend it to any of our friends or family. Please book somewhere else!! This place truly deserves negative stars. The only pros of this place are location and price, far surmounted by the cons. Calling this place a hotel is a laugh: towels aren't supplied, all the plugs in the room didn't work, the sheets aren't clean, there's no trash can in the room (though they tell you not to flush your toilet paper down the toilet?), and forget about the refrigerator—it's just a distraction, but sure, it also doesn't work. Beware—your own personal mini disco will show up at 2am in form of obnoxious cars revving around. Noise levels will solidify memories of the club you went to earlier in your dreams - except you won't sleep. The worst thing? They have the audacity to put paintings on the wall, as if for a final touch. The noise from the street will keep you up at night.

Absolutely awful. I understand that this is a cheap place to stay but that does not justify them being super dirty. I think it is common sense for to clean after a guest leaves but they asked me to bring the towel and the sheets downstairs to check out. I liked my stay at the hostel. The price is very good and the location as well. It is great to find a place in which one can travel without breaking the bank. And most of the people were very nice and helpful, this was my favorite part of my stay. Specially Tilemaxos, that greek guy made my experience just wonderful. He had lived in Colombia and I was happy to have contact with him in Colombian Spanish and share a couple of stories. He always welcomed me with a smile and also helped me find good places to eat at good prices. Efraristópolis malaka! And see you next time in Berlin, Greece or Pereira

Stayed here on January 2022. - Waited an hour in the lobby whilst we were "checked in" with the male behind the counter unable to speak English or manage to use the computer properly. Had to wait for a female, fluent in English to sign us in. - Came back to foyer an hour later and the manager and receptionist are having liquor in the common area on their lunch time break, both very intoxicated. - Came back after competing in the Miami marathon to be accused of not staying in the hotel and being told to get out. Very rude and hostile reception staff. - Meanwhile there are regularly homeless people who are allowed in the hotel tlto sleep on the couches or steal people's liquor from the fridge. - Filthy and disgusting rooms, with no working WiFI. - Stole our deposit and charge you money to store your baggage. - Avoid this place at all costs, if it wasn't for the location it would run out of business.

The location is extremely convenient two blocks away from the beach in the staff are very kind and helpful however this place badly needs some renovations. Now to be fair for $15 a night you're not expecting a stay at the Ritz but this place is very old and grimy feel to it. The pillows are comfortable but the bathrooms really need an update especially. I didn't see any bugs but the air conditioning unit definitely did not do much to cool the room even though it was set to 63°, it was still about 82 in the room. You need to bring your own padlock for the lockers but the problem is the shelves in the lockers can be moved and removed so even a few lock your unit somebody could access it from the one above or below but I just removing the shelf so not very safe thankfully the people I stayed with were honest and not thieves. Breakfast is early in the morning and short only for an hour and it is extremely rudimentary but again for the low price what do you expect. They were blaring music up until 2:00 in the morning though on a weeknight which kind of made it hard to sleep as well. Overall the place just needs renovation and some better cleaning and it could be a real gem pictures and the website are definitely a little deceptive

The hostel is just perfect, with its location (just 2 minutes to the beach), room is great the bed as the bathroom and the service with the breakfast is really good and common places too. So if you want a good place to sleep for only one night or one week it is not expensive and you will have all you need !

Great place to stay (closest hostel to the beach). SoBe Rooms & Hostel is also located on the bus line (150-Airport Flyer; 120-Downtown Miami; M, S, etc.), near restaurants and stores, and other services (phone accessories, barbers, etc.). Pleasant staff, clean, and has all the amenities needed for solo travelers, groups or tourists (laundry on-site, WiFi, free breakfast, exchange program available if you're looking to work-live in a hostel environment for a few months).

Great location and price. The rooms were adequate. Lockers in the room were perfect, just make sure you bring your own lock. Felt safe. Overall clean, but I did spot a couple of cockroaches over the week I was there. Not everywhere or all day .. but they came out to say hi at night... **quiver** ⊙⁠.⁠☉ Great with safety and security. Friendly staff. Nice shared dining space and decent breakfast.

Extremely very well located only one block down from the beach near to all kind of different restaurants , bars and clubs . Clean and definitely a good environment . I like this hostel. Met many nice people from across USA and around the world! Good location near Ocean Drive, all it´s clubs/bars and the beach! Next to the kitchen they had a realx area where you can eat, hang out and play pool - it was nice. Pretty decent rooms and good staff. When it comes to the cleanness, I´d say it was ok most places but the bathroom were not super exciting.

The manager told me a refund will be issued as I can’t stay there anymore in front of the police officers. Three days later, I check that no refund is issued, I went there to find another manager or person at the front desk telling me that no refund will be issued as the owner said so!! I asked him to let me talk to the owner but he refused and asked me to leave!!! I have no idea how he has such an audacity of giving people terrible service, attitude and then after being attacked and not staying for a single night I am not having a refund???? Save your money and stay somewhere else. This manager is a THEIF
