Visited on a Tuesday afternoon and seated immediately outside (for 2). Ordered a large Cuban sandwich ($12), chicken fingers with fries ($15), a side salad with tomato ($6), and a vanilla milkshake ($6.50). Husband enjoyed the Cuban, and the other items were good also. Waitress was very kind and attentive. Food came out rather quickly. Unfortunately, when we sat down, some of the surfaces were not entirely clean, and we found several pieces of small hairs on the condiments bottles. Several pieces of lettuce in my salad were covered in dirt. While we did enjoy the meal overall, it didn't feel very clean or sanitary to eat there.

Recommended by a friend as the best Cuban food we would ever have. Since it’s really the only Cuban food we have had, I guess it was the best. It was delicious. My son ordered the Cuban sandwich. My husband had a tuna sandwich and J had the oxtail stew. Meat fell off the bone. Great flavors and good portion sizes. I also liked the plantains. To top it off, I ordered a Cuban coffee with milk. I often drink Vietnamese Ice Coffees and people say those are strong. That is nothing next to the Cuban coffee. I only had a few sips and had the worst caffeine headache. We had to find a pharmacy for me to buy some advil.

We enjoyed a nice lunch here today. Located conveniently a block from the beach and across the street from a parking garage. Cuban sandwich, chicken stew with sides and cafe con leche - very hearty. Staff is helpful and talkative- enjoy!

Legit homemade Cuban food. The sandwiches are the best and CHEAPEST (13$ for 'medium' size pictured here) here compared to any offering on Ocean Drive. The Cuban was amazing, the Tuna great, and the Chicken à la Plancha Salad (with Avocado) was excellent although slightly overpriced (22$). Drinks are priced fairly. Warmly recommend getting lunch here!

Walked here from the beach, great location on Collins, awesome Customer Service. Sat at the bar, loved to watch the staff hard at work and smiling and chatting with Customers. The food and fresh juice were great, real value for money. If I could, would eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner here. They treat you like family. Try the cuban sandwich, paella and fresh passion fruit juice. A must go place when in Miami South Beach. I felt transported to a Caribbean island place.

The food is amazing every time we come. Been coming here since 2004. Just went back on Saturday, 22-July-2023... and it felt even better. Oxtail is by far the best! We also got the fried pork chunk; every bite was great with that sauté onion. Every time my friends come into town, we never fail to stop by. It is worth the drive, the parking, and the walking.

While in Miami, a friend of mine and I stopped at this restaurant for a quick bite. When we arrived we sat at the bar area. We had a wonderful server. We started with the yucca appetizers, which my friend loved. We then had our entrées and I got the garlic shrimp. When it came out, it looked great. I dug in, and the food was really good. The bill was good and I had a great experience!

Very good experience at this Cuban restaurant. I ordered one of the specials of the day (around $16). The portion was fairly large, bread with butter was also served before the main at no additional cost, and the passion fruit juice I ordered ($8) was delicious. The lady who served me from behind the counter was extremely nice, efficient and kind. Cuban food reminded me a lot of Brazilian food I'm used to, especially the rice and beans. For Brazilians around this sure gives a good taste of home.

This place was delicious! It was my first time eating authentic Cuban food. We had the Cuban sandwich, the Ropa Vieja which is Cuban style shredded beef, white rice and plantains. We also had the rice pudding and coconut flan which was heavenly! The service was very friendly. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching and the food of course! I recommend this place and we will be back!

Great Cuban experience in Miami Beach on Collins Avenue. We decided to go with the Broiled Filet of Salmon with rice and seasonal salad and Palomilla Steak served with French fries, rice and seasonal salad as well. For the drinks we took Hatuey beers. Overall, large portions and very tasty. The service was excellent and fast.

Very local and authentic place. We ordered Oxtail stew and fried fish with salad. Very reasonable price but tasty! It was pretty crowded at around 8 p.m., but there was no need to make reservations. Some staff were super nice, but some were not.

Butter bread delivered to the table, light and crispy with melted salted butter. Ham croquettes a lot ham in every bite with melty creamy cheese Mango Milkshake-right amount of sweet and real fruit flavors creamy and delicious Cuban amazing warm sandwich on light flat bread, pickles, mustard with melt in your mouth sliced ham and pork. Wonderful balance of flavors.

The Cafe con leche is amazing. Best Cuban cafe in SOBE. Very reasonable price for Miami. You can get a whole meal for $15 and not beat the price, quality and service. It was a quick serve and nice outside sitting. The steak/rice/beans are amazing as well.

Went here back in June 2022 when we were in town for a night before a cruise. This place has been on my list to visit ever since I heard the late chef Carl Ruiz mention it on a radio show/podcast. We were not disappointed at all. The food was fantastic. We were sat right away and the servers were great. I cannot wait to go back when I visit Miami next.

Our daughter-in-law was staying in South beach for a business meeting and we were meeting her for dinner. When in Miami, eating Cuban food is a must. Puerto Sagua said they have been in business since 1962, must be one of the first Cuban restaurants. Very nice menu with a huge selection. An old tired restaurant that isn't upscale but very good food and service. Started with MARIQUITAS (BANANA CHIPS) with garlic sauce, very good. I tried the SHRIMP ENCHILADO (Cuban Style, served with Rice, Black Beans and Salad in a tomato sauce with onions and peppers, very good. My wife opted for the 1/4 ROAST CHICKEN .Rice, Black Beans and Sweet Plantain. Also very good. For dessert, coconut flan which was also very good.

When my family and I come to South Beach, we must eat at this fine restaurant! Roasted chicken with yellow rice, plantains is a great choice if you don’t want to wait 45 minutes. The chicken is seasoned to perfection. It has a hint of lime flavor. Excellent! Tostones, Cuban sandwich, steak sandwich are all very, very good. The white rice is super flavorful! The servers are wonderfully kind and the place is thoroughly clean, bathroom included. Love this spot!

Recommended by local Cubans and it was a fantastic choice. Great food, generous servings. I had to go back twice to try more options. From good value specials to large platter dishes. I highly recommend this spot. Friendly staff and super close to Ocean Dr. A+…oh and get a cafecito if you want a nice sweet boost of coffee :)

Cuban sandwich is definitely delicious! This place gives you instant old school diner vibes! Love the ancient feels and looks inside! Cash register is even ancient! Staff is friendly! I call my order in, so it’s ready to go when I get there! I paid 18 bucks for my medianoche and a Diet Coke. Little more pricey than some of my go to Cuban spots but the quality and considering it’s location it’s worth it!

Really unique high quality Cuban food for a low price. This is really authentic food. They give you complimentary bread. I am vegetarian but I heard the seafood is really good. I had the avocado salad which was literally amazing. I highly recommend. Overall a must for Miami.

You can charge your devices/phone here with a USB cord!! The seats in the dining sections have outlets and USB plug-ins next to them and this absolutely saved my life. The coffee and espressos are okay. I wanted to order dessert but cake was $8-9!! The Cubano sandwich was quite big and satisfying and I ordered the regular sized one. The grilled fish special that day was a little too dry but the side dishes are delicious as always. The waiters are pretty attentive and came frequently. I would say that cleanliness and overall environment could be improved — I sent back a plate with tomato sauce stains and found some unrecognizable dusty bits before I drank my water. Both of these were immediately and kindly addressed by the staff, though.

Great place very authentic Cuban food! Got the ox tail, fish soup, and roast chicken! If you get the roast chicken make sure to ask for dark meat or they will screw you with a dry chicken breast! Other that I would only recommend the Ox tail, roast chicken and Pig feet.... The main best dish here is the black beans!

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Alex, the server who gave us a wonderful experience, was just marvellous. The food was so delicious - Cuban sandwich, oxtail stew, pepper steak, and shrimp enchilada. We ordered a lot of food and took a decent amount home - portions were very generous! He coordinated the entire staff to sing Happy Birthday to my darling husband. We had the best evening! No frills and honest and delicious food. Perfect!

We love this place. Very sentimental to us coming here. Quality has gone down a little bit. The prices now are sky high! Been coming here yearly or so since 2002 and was slightly disappointed this last time. Customer service is always the best. Our meal just wasn’t as good as we remembered.

I stumbled upon this place during my vacation in Miami Beach and found it to be a lifesaver, especially considering that many quick eats places tend to close early in the area. It was a bit perplexing for me, coming from New York, where things often stay open late. However, to my delight, this spot was open until 11 pm on the weekend. After a day filled with adult fun, it hit the spot perfectly. The food was good, though I wouldn't claim it to be the absolute best Cuban sandwich in Miami. However, it certainly wasn't the worst either. The service was noteworthy. The staff was quick, friendly, and the area where my friend and I sat was clean. I opted for the large Cuban sandwich, a side of fries, and an ice-cold beer, and it was a satisfying meal. I would recommend giving this place a try, especially if you're looking for late-night eats. However, if you're in search of the tastiest, most authentic Cuban sandwiches, you might want to explore other options during the daytime.

Heard of this place from my coworkers up here in Canada so we all decided to go there for lunch. We all had the Oxtail stew which had amazing flavours. It was done to perfection; the spices were perfect, the bone on the meat was made perfectly which came of the bone easily. The service was fast even though the place was packed:

We got recommended this place from a local. Thank God he did...it was fast, hot, and delicious. We sat at the coffee bar. Definitely has older aesthetic since its been there since 1962! I would recommend the sopa de pollo, the app of the pork chucks, and the oxtails😛!! I wish I had more space to try more food!! The portion sizes are great! Definitely always packed..but you can check the website for wait timing! Side note: they sell cigarettes..lol There's options to sit at the bar, outside and in the dining room.
